"Announcing the arrival of her majesty Queen Ariana." Says the royal guard.
She enters the throne room with eight helps in tow, while everyone curtsies before her as she passes. Finding her son, she smiles and shouts, "William! Do greet your dear old mother will you?"
"Hello mother. What brings you to these sides of the kingdom? I thought you were with Edward in Carlysle." He replies.
"And stay a prisoner of his war plans? No no my dear. Im too old for that. Now where is my future king?" She says.
William sends for Edgar and he enters a few minutes later breathless. "Why, Edgar! You have grown so big and breathless!" She says pulling him into a hug.
"Forgive me grandmother, I just happen to have hell falling on my head." He says catching his breath.
William chuckles understanding what he means.
"There you are! You still have to..." she trails off noticing the presence of the former queen. She curtsies and greets, "your grace, welcome to the windsor."
"You may rise. May I ask why you are chasing after my grandson in this manner." She says.
"My, my, that lady never lets breathe!" Interjects the prince.
Mia scowls at him when Queen Adriana says," Continue."
"Forgive me your grace. I believe his highness needs to recieve proper grooming before meeting you but alas, he escaped me before I could finish." Mia explains still scowling at the prince.
Amused at this scene, she turns to him and says, "Edgar dear, it is true what she says. Besides, who chose this sleeping attire for you? It is so horrible!" She says making a gagging sound.
He throws a tantrum and drags his feet towards Mia. "Let us go." He says.
Smiling at her victory, she curtsies before following behind slowly. "Now, crimson or lilac?" She asks.
"You are the help you choose." He says dropping onto his bed.
"Okay. Don't blame me if you look like a rainbow." She tells him. He scoffs.
She carefully sews his robes and while she is too hard at work, she pricks her finger and bites her lip to prevent screaming. "Done. Here, time to wear and go meet her grace." She hands them to him holding one hand behind her back.
He takes them from her and enters his dressing chambers. As is norm, she is supposed to wait on him to compliment and advice amongst other things.
Gently sucking on her thumb, she doesn't notice him standing before her. "Well?" He startles her that she quickly hides her pricked finger.
Quite taken by the appearance before her, she realises that this is not the boy who she played hide and seek with when they were five. His features were now more profound and his dishevelled hair made him quite the character.
"Do I look that bad?" He says, looking down at himself.
"Oh you look worse than my expressions. Now, disappear." She says pushing him out into the hall. He walks away quickly to meet his grandmother.
What was she thinking?
