"Ight look at this" I said handing the phone to kehlani. I sat in the chair beside her and reached up grabbing an already rolled blunt from my ear.
"Unt unt, my moms will trip if she smells that." Kehlani said with her hand out giving me my phone back.
"So what you think?" I asked grabbing my phone.
"She'll love it."
"Kehlani don't be out there all night it's cold." Her mom said on the ring camera causing us to
look back at the camera.
"Okay here I come." Kehlani told her before looking back at me.
"Ight I'm finna head out appreciate it though." I said while we continued to stand up.
"Of course, y'all be safe." She said before walking inside. I jogged down the porch making my way to my car. I got in the car and looked down at my phone seeing Summer FaceTiming me.
"Hey baby, what you doing?." She answered looking at me through the phone smiling.
"Not shit on my way to Ashton crib." I told her resting my elbow on the arm rest holding the phone up.
"What y'all finna do?" Jaylon asked in the background.
"Who that?" I asked.
"Jaylon." She said bluntly.
"What y'all got going?" I asked wondering what he needed.
"I'm helping Jaylon actually learn how to do the work instead of looking up every answer he see." She said looking over at him rolling her eyes.
"What's up young nigga." I greeted he threw his head up.
"What's up." He smiled looking at the phone.
"How y'all doing?" I asked referring to him and his grandmother.
"We good she's doing way better I got her in chemotherapy all that." I nodded as I gave him a light smile.
"That's what's up."
"What they say about you making up your days?" Summer asked him.
"Saturday school, some shit I don't want to do." He told us making me nod.
"You ain't got to worry about it if you get it over with." I told him, I pulled up in front of Ashton house and cut the car off.
"Yeah I'm already knowing, but what y'all finna get into?" He asked I got out the car and went in the trunk grabbing my duffel bag.
"Nothing you need to worry about till you at least finish this paper." Summer told him making me laugh.
"Shut up nigga." He said in the background, summer turned the camera back to her.
"Why you laughing you should be trying to see if you can at least try and get your diploma." Summer told me I walked through the front yard up to the door.
"I done missed to many days to make up." I replied I knocked on the door when soon after Ashton answered.
"What's good." Ashton said letting me in he dapped me up and we walked in.
"Yeah whatever, tell Ashton nem we said hey. We finna try and finish what we can, cause look at this crap." She said showing his folder full of work.
"Damn, I'll be over there when I get done text me if y'all need something." She nodded before she hung up.
"Help me count this real quick." I asked Ashton.
"Yeah come on." We went to the living room and he brought out the money counters.
"What summer got going?" He asked taking the rubber band off the stack and putting it in the machine.
"Helping Jaylon catch up in school" I told him he looked at me crazy.
"I ain't know he was in school. He be around so much didn't think he was going." Ashton admitted.
"Yeah he straighten up his path." I said as Ashton nodded while we continued to count the money.
"That's good as hell for real."
LATER THAT DAY
"Ight aye I appreciate it, hit me if you need me." I dapped him up on my way out.
"Most definitely and ima get at Trinn about that drop."
"What you finna get into?" I asked him
"I'm finna stop by momma browns in a minute, you should stop by." He answered rubbing his stomach.
"Oh ight." I nodded and went out to my car I got in the car and put the bag in the passenger seat. I started the car and went downtown to pandora on my way there I went to destiny's messages looking at the items she sent me that summer liked.
"Hi, how can I help you today?" The lady at the front desk asked. I showed her the items I was looking for. We did the payments and everything we needed.
"Here you go thank you for your shopping with us today." She told me handing me my bag.
"Mhm." I nodded grabbing the bag I walked out the store.
"Aye what's good?" I answered the phone. I reached down and put my wallet in my pocket.
"They got moe man...them Mexican mother fuckers." Josh ranted moe was his homie from way back.
"Don't do nothing stupid meet me back at the stash." I told him shaking my head as he hung up.
AT THE STASH HOUSE
"They killed him 3, we need to light that bitch up." Josh said as soon as I came inside.
"What the fuck happened?" I asked waiting on a response he looked over at someone else as they began to speak.
"We had just came back in town and stopped at a gas station I went over to a taco truck then turned around seeing him start some shit with a random I couldn't really hear nothing. On my way to him I heard gun shots and seen him hit the ground." He explained I looked at him.
"Where was y'all at?" I asked till Josh walked up on me.
"Fuck all this talking we need to go murk them niggas." I shook my head as I looked at my phone seeing an unknown number.
"Don't do shit till I tell y'all." I told them as I was about to walk out.
"Is you crazy? All the work we put in for you." He added looking for some type of sympathy.
"Y'all watch him." I answered the phone and went down the stairs to my car.
"I'm assuming you heard?" Pop asked.
"Hell yeah."
"You know where I'm at." He said before hanging up, pop was also known in the drug industry. We had our problems at first but we came to an agreement and made it clear everybody can eat.
I got in the car and made my way through his hoods pulling up where he be chilling at.
I grabbed the duffel bag and reached back putting on the ground and throwing my hoodie over it. I got out the car and went up to the door I had all eyes on me as I got to the door.
"You lost?" Dude asked stepping up to me.
"Nahh where pop?" I asked he looked at my car as I locked the door.
"I don't think he know where he at." Another dude on side of me added. I looked over and seen pop nephew walk up the porch.
"Chill out." He said moving ole dude out the way he dapped me up. He opened the door and we walked inside.
"Heard about your mans today, I'm guessing that's why you here." He asked looking over at me and I nodded.
"Yeah." We walked to the back of the house and seeing pop doing a line of coke off a girls shoulder. He turned around and looked at me holding his arms up smiling.
"You're growing well, heard your name a few times since we've last talked." He dapped me up and patted my back.
"Damn thought I was keeping shit cool." I admitted making him looked at me.
"But aye what the fuck happened?" I asked not trying to be here no longer than I have to.
"My dude said he was chilling when your man walked into him, he said he was willing to let it go but the kid started getting heated. He ended up saying the wrong thing to the wrong mother fucker." Pop explained I shook my head.
"Ain't shit to talk about then." I said and he smiled.
"Not at all..." pop agreed.
"Keep your people from around here or-"
"Aye don't tell me what the fuck I need to do." I looked at a random leaned up on a wall. he stood up acting like he want to do something.
"Alrightt, we good?" Pop asked me I looked back at him and nodded.
"Yeah." I dapped him up and went out to my car.
"Bye fuck boy." I looked at him as I got inside my car. I shook my head and drove off I went back to the stash to let everybody know what's up.
"Come inside." I told the few people who were put we walked in and Josh stood up as he looked at me.
"I need y'all to keep y'all distance from that side of town for a little while let shit die down." I told them.
"Fuck you mean? You gone let them niggas get away with that shit?" Josh asked.
"If I hear one thing about you I will kill you myself, go bury your dead." I said looking down counting out some money handing it to him for the funeral. He took the money and walked off.
I walked out to my car and got inside rolling a blunt.
I held the blunt I between my lips as I reached up and lit the blunt I started the car and headed to momma browns house to grab me a plate.
I pulled up to her house and got out the car going up to the door.
"Heyy baby, come on in." Momma brown greeted once she came to the door.
"How you been?" I asked her as I walked in hugging her she smiled.
"I'm good my grand babies came to see me, you here now we just missing the rest of the crew." She laughed off.
"You hungry?" She asked walking into the kitchen with Ashton and Destiny.
"You already know, who helped you put the curtains up?" I asked as she started making my plate.
"Summer came by and helped, I'm glad someone noticed them. Them two didn't even say nothing about them." She said looking over at Ashton and Destiny.
"We don't even be over here that much anyway." Destiny defended them.
"I just wasn't looking at no curtains." Ashton said I laughed a little.
"What's up y'all."
"Bye y'all so happy y'all came." Momma browns said giving us all a hug we said goodbye and she closed the door.
"Did you get to go by pandora before they closed?" Destiny asked making Ashton look over at us smiling.
"Yeah, quit smiling little ugly ass thing." I told Ashton as destiny busted out laughing.
"You seen that shit woody did him bad." She said referring to woody and Shamar.
"Dead ass, but aye I'm finna go y'all be safe."
"Ight you too." I got in the car and headed to summer crib I knocked on the door with the pandora bag.
She answered the door and looked at me before looking down at the bag.
"Kane you don't have to keep buying her things." She smiled letting me in I walked in and gave her a hug.
"I got you something too." She closed the door.
"Aww really? Let's see if you got an eye like me." She said smiling as Kaykay came running in.
"Kanee." She smiled I picked her up.
"I got you something princess." Kane told her as I handed her bag once I put her down she ran to the couch and started opening everything.
"Thank youu." Kaykay said as she continued to open her things. Summer leaned on me smiling watching Kaykay open her stuff.
"Here." I lifted up her bag she turned around looking at me.
"Thank you Kane, but you don't have to buy me things." She told me.
"Summer just open it you know I'm not gone stop." I admitted and she laughed making me smile.
"You know what fine." She sat the bag on the kitchen table and took everything out opening one by one getting happier every time she opened something.
"Oh my gosh thank you soo much." She said hugging me before looking up and giving me a kiss.
"Yeah see how you happy?"
"I was happy soon as I seen your handsome face. I don't need all these thing but I am grateful thank you again." She said looking at me I smiled cause I ain't heard no shit like that.
"Ouu got him cheesing." Summer said smiling hard as fuck.
"Mmcht shut yo ass up." I shook my head.
"Aww." She came up and gave me a kiss.
"Mommy look." Kaykay said showing Summer everything she got.
"Tell Kane thank you onee more time." Summer said as she picked her up.
"Thank you Kane." She said leaning forward and giving me a hug.
"Yeah."
"Ima go lay her down I'll be right back." Summer told me as I nodded, she grabbed Kaykays gifts and brought them to her room as well.
I start picking everything up putting it together not long after she came back.
"You staying with me tonight?" She asked tilting her head waiting on my response.
"I need to go shower i been out all day." I told her.
"Okay call me if you do come back so I can get the door." She said I nodded she walked me out.
"Call me." She said as I walked to the car.
