Chapter 22 Future Brother-In-Law Not long after he left the villa, he called Dianne and instructed, “I’m at the shopping mall near the villa.

Pick me up at the entrance.”

“Yes, boss,” Dianne replied.

Someone exclaimed behind him as soon as he hung up.

“Sky, is that you?”

Skylar followed the direction of the voice and looked over.

He saw a young and beautiful woman looking at him with surprise on her face.

Although they had not seen each other for six years, Skylar recognized her at first glance.

“Naomi!”

Skylar did not expect such a coincidence. He was just about to go back to his adoptive parents’ house when he met Naomi here.

Naomi is the daughter of his adoptive parents. She was three years younger than him. She was always behind his back. They would bicker with each other when they were kids. They were childhood sweethearts.

If it was not for something that happened in the past, She and Skylar would have been married.

However, after six years of separation, Skylar was very happy to meet her again.

“Sky, it’s you! Why didn’t you tell me sooner that you’re back?”

Naomi was a little excited but at the same time felt a bit disappointed.

“I came here in a rush and there was something that caused a delay. I’ll be heading back to visit mom and dad.” Skylar replied.

“Oh, alright,” said Naomi as she turned her head around.

Skylar followed Naomi’s gaze and saw a young man in a blue suit walking through the crowd.

“Who’s this, Naomi?” The man glanced at Skylar and asked.

“Naomi put her hair behind her ears, feeling a little complicated. “He’s my brother, Skylar>”

The man noticed Naomi’s change of expressions, and a sense of crisis suddenly arose in him.

He wrapped his arms around Naomi’s slender waist and said to Skylar, “I’m Brian Stephenson. Naomi’s fiance.”

Brian did not wait for Skylar’s reply and continued in a sarcastic tone, “I’ve heard from my father-in-law that he wanted to match you and Naomi!”

“If it wasn’t for your contract and joined the army six years ago, your kids would’ve been running around by now.”

“What kind of nonsense are you talking about, Brian? Sky has a task at hand. Let’s not disturb him anymore.”

Naomi quickly grabbed Brian’s arm and advised.

Now that she already had a fiance, Naomi did not want to remember the past although she could not stop thinking of Skylar’s disappearance.

“Why don’t you go shopping first, Naomi? I have something to discuss with my future brother-in-law.”

Skylar said calmly.

Naomi gave him a deep look and nodded. Then headed into the mall.

“Since you’ve been missing for six years, what are you still doing here, Skylar? You’re not even a part of the Fuller family. Why don’t you treat yourself as if you’re dead?” Brian sneered.

Naomi was not there, he did not have to hide his true self.

Skylar did not care about his words, but asked jokingly, “Are you afraid that I’ll steal Naomi from you?”

“Don’t you have this confidence, future brother-in-law?”

“Hmph, you’re overthinking. Do you think I’ll be afraid of a puny soldier? Do you know who I am?” Brian snorted coldly.

Skylar chuckled: “I’m sorry, I’m not interested in your identity.”

“Oh, it’s not that you’re not interested, you’re just afraid that you’ll be embarrassed if I show you my identity. You said that you have a task at hand. I just think that you’re useless. You’ve been a soldier for six years and you haven’t made a name for yourself, so you can only be sent back to your hometown.

Hahaha!”

“What’s the matter? Do you want me to arrange a job for you? It’s better than the labor market offers…

As long as you promise to stay away from Naomi from now on, I’ll guarantee that you’ll be able to marry an ordinary woman and live in peace.”

As soon as Brian finished speaking, a jeep with a military plate stopped in front of them.

Dianne walked down immediately and greeted Skylar respectfully, “Please get in the car, boss.”

A beautiful woman in a military uniform addressed him as her boss?

Skylar nodded, without looking at Brian.

“Vincent called just now and said wanted to treat you to a meal.”

Dianne said cautiously.

“I don’t have time.”

Skylar frowned and got into the car immediately.

“Pretty lady, is the Vincent you’re talking about, Mr. Oakley? One of the most powerful figures in Cloudtopia?”

Brian could not help but ask.

Dianne stared, “Don’t ask about what you shouldn’t know, be wary of someone who’s after your life.”

Boom!

Brian’s brain exploded.

He felt like he had seen too much. The vehicle had a military license plate and the beauty in her attire and Vincent.

All of that showed that Skylar had an extraordinary identity!

Thinking about it, he actually sneered at Skylar and made rude remarks about him. Brian’s back was drenched in an instant…

Inside the jeep, Dianne asked Skylar respectfully, “Where do you want to go, Boss?”

“I’m heading to the Fuller family’s residence. Before that, find me a place where I can get good wine and supplements for elderly folks.” Said Skylar.

“Yes, sir!” Dianne agreed to his orders and started the car immediately On the way there, Dianne asked again: “Do you want to kill Lewis, boss?”

Skylar pondered for a moment and said, “Forget about him, just beat him up and release him.”

“He’s just a civilian after all. I can spare his life as long as he doesn’t do anything too much.”

“I’m a father now, and I don’t want to get too much blood on my hands.”

“Yes, boss.”

Half an hour later, Dianne parked the jeep in front of a supermarket.

Skylar got out of the car and chose gifts for his adoptive parents before returning to the car and heading to their place.

After six years of absence, Skylar was a little excited when he was about to see his old folks.

Unlike many adoptive families, Skylar’s adoptive father, Nathaniel, and his adoptive mother, Winona treated him like their own son.

Even after his sister, Naomi’s birth, his status in the family had never changed.

Moreover, ever since he was living with the Fuller family, he treated his adoptive parents as his biological parents for as long as he could remember.

If he hadn’t been selected to become a secret officer later, he might have had an ordinary job accompanying his adoptive parents.

Skylar had so many thoughts. The jeep stopped at the gate of an old community.

Skylar got out of the car and walked toward the familiar corridor with his gifts.

“Who is it?”

A familiar voice came from inside the door.

It was his adoptive father, Nathaniel.

“Dad, it’s me, Skylar!” Skylar shouted across the door.

The door opened immediately.

“it’s you, Skylar my boy!”

Nathaniel had gray hair and reading glasses. He looked at Skylar with surprise.

“Naomi said that she met you at the mall’s entrance just now. I thought she was trying to cheer me up.

But I didn’t expect you to come back.”

“Why are you bringing so many things, my boy? Hurry up and come in, we’re about to have dinner!”

After speaking, Nathaniel accepted Skylar’s gifts and brought him to the living room.

Upon entering the room, Skylar saw two large tables with people.

There was his adoptive mother, Winona, and Naomi at the table. There were also several relatives from the Fuller family as well.

Naomi’s fiance, Brian, was also present.

However, Brian sat on the main seat although he was much younger.
