The funny thing was, Mandy actually thought they came to the wedding for her family and glorious days were ahead for her family.

“You… This is…” Mandy looked incredibly awful then.

Everyone was shocked to see how those extremely powerful people were so polite to Skylar.

How capable can a poor twenty-five year old brat really be? What right does he even have to make such powerful people bow to him?

“Skylar…” Naomi was just as shocked as everyone there.

This made her wonder just what her brother had experienced in the last five years that he went missing.

“Yeah, I’m here.”

Skylar ignored everyone as Naomi was the only person he was focused on then.

How could he not feel bad when the sister he grew up with was bullied.

“I was absent back then, Naomi, so I don’t know what exactly had happened then. But, I’m back now and I won’t allow anyone to bully you!”

After that, Skylar grabbed the necklace from Naomi’s hand and said, “This is my blessing for you. Do you like it?”

“I do. Of course I do!”, Naomi nodded.

“Let me put it on for you then.” Skylar placed the necklace around Naomi’s neck after that.

When she saw the eye-catching pendant, Naomi’s heart thumped before leaping into Skylar’s arms and sobbed, “Thank you, Skylar.”

While Brian remained silent, Mandy on the other hand was seething with rage when that happened.

She said, “You are already our daughter-in-law, Naomi. How dare you jump into another man’s arms in front of Brian? You’ve ruined our family’s reputation, you shameless slut…”

However, Skylar suddenly looked up and gave Mandy a menacing glare.

This startled Mandy so much that she trembled and decided to stop talking.

Skylar coldly said, “Who told you that my sister has already become your family’s daughter-in- law? I will be more than happy to accept it if she decides to change her mind now!”

Since she understood just how terrifying of a person Skylar was, she dared not say anything else.

However, she looked very displeased.

Skylar comforted Naomi, “Don’t worry, Naomi. It doesn’t matter if this is your marriage or anything else, you can decide on your own.”

Naomi glanced at Brian before shifting her focus on her family. She took a deep breath and said, “Skylar, I don’t want to marry him anymore.”

Brian looked very hurt when she said that.

It was such a shame that Naomi was able to understand some things after everything that happened earlier. She knew that a relationship involved two people, but a marriage would involve two families.

It would be pointless for her if Brian was the only person nice to her. If his family did not respect her at all, then it would be no different from her diving into a fire pit.

Although her family was not rich, she was raised in a loving home where her family spoiled her. So, she had no reason to take their cold treatment.

“All right then. I’ll take you home.” Without saying a word, Skylar left the hall with Naomi.

Mandy dared not say another word after that.

Although Brian wanted to stop them, the fear he felt crippled him and he was completely frozen in place.

No one else dared do anything rash either.

After Skylar left, Mr. Crawford and the others left as well. There was no longer any reason for them to stay.
