Chapter 5: Triumph Above All Chapter 5

“What happened?”

Both Madam Sue and Charles were startled by the sudden intrusion.

“Yulia and that bootlicker Skylar are a couple now! They even insisted on getting married in front of me earlier!” Yvonne exaggerated.

“What!” Madam Sue was livid when she heard that.

“That unruly brat! I can’t believe she’d agree to marry that penniless Skylar when she knew that her mother and I had made plans to marry her to someone else already!” Charles furiously exclaimed before slamming the table.

Nicholas looked bitter as soon as he heard that.

Since Madam Sue was afraid that Nicholas might be offended by this, she immediately said, “Don’t worry Mr. Wexler, I will call that brat right now. I refuse to believe that she’ll actually go through with it!”

She called Yulia as soon as she said that.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open again as Yulia entered the room with Skylar and Lola.

“How dare you bring this man along to meet grandma!” Yvonne exclaimed.

However, Yulia ignored her completely as she told Madam Sue and Charles, “Hey grandma, uncle, I need to tell you something. Skylar will be Lola’s father from this moment on and I will never marry anyone else ever again.”

Her statement sounded like a direct insult to Nicholas.

“Listen here, Yulia. I will give you one chance to make up for your mistakes. Send this bastard away right now or I will lash out at you!” Nicholas exclaimed.

However, Skylar scoffed and said, “Lash out? How do you plan on doing that then?”

“I happen to have quite the interesting video on my phone, so if Yulia dares to even mingle with another man, I will upload that video online. I will show the entire city just how much of a slut she is!” Nicholas exclaimed with a lustful grin.

“A video? Nicholas, you shameless scum! I’ve never hung out with you in private, so how could you have someone impersonate me in that disgusting video of yours! Why don’t you just give up already! I won’t ever allow someone as scummy as you to be my daughter’s father!” Yulia exclaimed while clenching her fists.

“Oh right, I’m more confident if your daughter is involved! Let me tell you this, Yulia. If you don’t sleep with me tonight, I’ll make sure every student, parent, and teacher at her preschool knows about the video! They won’t be able to tell if the video was fake or not. Besides, they’re going to spread rumors about you. When that happens, you and your daughter are going to be judged by everyone. Let’s see how you’d like that then!” Nicholas exclaimed with a smug look.

It seemed that Yulia was nothing more than a regular prey to him.

“You…” Yulia was so furious that she was rendered completely speechless.

She understood that she would be able to deal with Nicholas if she was the only target. However, she dared not do anything rash if her daughter was involved. However, just as Nicholas was about to grab Yulia, a threatening voice echoed throughout the room.

“I’ll give you ten seconds to delete the video and scram!” Skylar exclaimed in a menacing voice.

Nicholas was stunned for a moment when he was threatened as he said, “Do you know who I am?

How dare you snatch my woman!”

“I don’t care who you are, but if you dare lay a finger on Yulia, I will murder you!” Skylar exclaimed in a cold tone.

“You’ll kill me? All right then, I am quite interested to see who’ll end up dead.” Nicholas snapped back at Skylar before rolling up his sleeves to hit Skylar.

However, before he could do anything, he was sent flying as he crashed on the couch with a loud thud.

A loud crack could be heard from the couch as soon as he landed on it. It seemed that the couch was snapped in half by the impact.

It did not take long for the couch to fall apart as Nicholas lay injured in a pile of rubble while coughing out blood.

After that, Skylar calmly said, “Ten seconds is up.”

“You… How dare you…”

Nicholas struggled to get up from the rubble. He wanted to snap back at Skylar, but was so shaken by what happened that he was rendered speechless.

“Don’t ruin Yulia’s mood. Now, scram!” Skylar yelled.

Nicholas trembled when he noticed the cold glint in Skylar’s eyes, he dared not say anything else as he struggled to get up and ran for the exit.

“Hold on a second!” Skylar suddenly exclaimed.

This startled Nicholas so much that his legs began to tremble.

“Didn’t you… want me to leave?”

“Your phone,” Skylar ordered.

Nicholas was so shaken up by this that he dared not disobey Skylar as he frantically handed his phone over to Skylar.

While towering over Nicholas, Skylar raised his hand and gave the phone a tight squeeze. As soon as he did that, the military-grade phone was immediately crushed to dust. This terrified Nicholas so much that cold sweat was pouring out of him and felt as if he was going to wet himself.

“Scram!”

With a simple wave, Nicholas’ face was completely covered in dust.

It seemed that he was so terrified that he dared not wipe the dust away before staggering out the door.

“You…Well played, Yulia! I can’t believe you managed to find someone bold enough to lash out at Nicholas!”

When Charles finally regained his senses, he was so furious that he wanted to murder Yulia then.

“Grandma, our company will be doomed if Nicholas decides to retaliate and go after our family!”

Apparently, Yvonne decided to add fuel to the flames.

This infuriated Madam Sue as she screamed at Yulia, “Since you obviously don’t care about our family’s well being and are adamant in marrying this penniless scum, I will want the mansion back and have your family roam the streets!”

Madam Sue took out her phone and called Yulia’s father, Lincoln as soon as she said that.

“Grandma…”

Hearing that made Yulia panic a little.

But, this is Nicholas’ fault though. He was being a shameless scumbag, but I can’t believe that my grandma would be this cruel to me just to gain some form of benefits for our family.

“You should head back with Lola first. Don’t worry, no harm will come to you or your daughter as long as I’m here.”

So, with Lola in his arms, Skylar grabbed Yulia’s hand and walked out of the room.

Yulia did not resist his comfort at all.

Apparently, she accepted his comfort because she did not want Lola to witness how cruel people could be at such a young age. She was not confident that Skylar would be able to deal with Nicholas at all.

However, as soon as they were about to have dinner, Yulia’s step-mother, Betty Lane called her.

“Yulia, you little slut! If anything were to happen to Lincoln, it’ll be all your fault!”

Hearing this startled Yulia as she asked, “What happened to my dad?”

However, Betty was livid when she asked that. She replied, “How dare you ask that question? You have offended Nicholas by being so adamant in marrying that penniless bastard. Madam Sue had called us earlier and she wanted to cut all ties with us and wanted us to leave the mansion. Your father was so furious when he heard that, it triggered his heart attack! Hurry up and get your butt over to Goodwill Hospital!”
