Chapter 8: Triumph Above All Chapter 8

“Who dares…” The chancellor opened the door and was about to yell at Skylar. However, as soon as he noticed what Skylar was doing, he was completely stunned.

“Is this the legendary Dragon Scales procedure? I… I can’t believe that I’m lucky enough to bear witness to such a legend!”

The chancellor looked incredibly excited as he watched Skylar’s every move.

Although he had never seen the procedure himself, he had done plenty of research about it. Especially about how the procedure was carried out. It was exactly the same as what Skylar was doing at the moment.

After the procedure was over, it did not take long for Lincoln to finally wake up.

Lincoln felt a little awkward when he noticed a casually dressed young man.

Due to his family’s reputation, Nicholas did not invite him to the meeting earlier that day. So, he never met Skylar before and did not know that he was the infamous future son-in-law that caused everything to go wrong.

“Excuse me… you are?” Lincoln asked.

“Don’t move, let me remove all the needles from your body before you get up.” Skylar waved his hands around.

“You… you saved me?”

Lincoln grew cautious when he heard that as he asked, “We’re in a hospital, so why aren’t you wearing a lab coat?”

However, before Skylar could say anything else, the chancellor rushed over and said, “Whoa, I can’t believe you know how to perform the Dragon Scales! You’re awesome! I never thought that I could bear witness to such a legendary skill!”

Skylar chuckled and began removing the needles from Lincoln’s body.

After the last needle was removed, Lincoln felt as if his body had grown ten years younger. It did not take long for him to regain movement and felt as if nothing was wrong with him.

“Not bad, kid! I’ve admired such a skill for a really long time now and I want to be your disciple! Look, I don’t expect you to teach me everything you know, all I want is for you to give me some pointers. I’d be content just with that.”

The chancellor wanted to kneel to Skyylar as he said that.

“Me too. I want to learn from you! Sir, your medical skills are truly a blessing!” Just like the chancellor, Lincoln did the same.

Their actions rendered Skylar completely speechless.

I can understand why the chancellor would be so excited to see what I did since he’s a doctor, but you know absolutely nothing about medicine. Why are you still so persistent in studying medicine anyway?

Besides, you’re my future father-in-law though. Wouldn’t this complicate things for us then?

“Please get up. I never accept disciples.”

After that, Skylar packed up his medical kit and left the room.

However, the chancellor was persistent as he said, “Please sir, please fulfill something I yearned for for years!”

Lincoln continued, “Sir, I want to learn such a legendary skill too!”

Hearing this rendered Skylar completely speechless.

Meanwhile outside of the emergency room.

Yulia and the others were incredibly nervous about Lincoln’s condition. That was because the chancellor still had not arrived after half an hour had gone by.

It seemed that everyone was starting to wonder if Nicholas had toyed with them. Feeling helpless, Yulia was getting ready to call Nicholas again.

However, the emergency room opened before she could do that. So, everyone turned their attention over to the emergency room.

They were immediately greeted by three men and the first person who walked out was Skylar while the chancellor and Lincoln followed behind.

Feeling shocked, Betty said, “I thought that penniless brat had already left. Why was he even in there?

Could he have held a grudge after I yelled at him and he was trying to take his revenge on Lincoln?”

Madam Sue looked delighted as she said, “Just ignore him. Can’t you see? Not only was Lincoln completely fine, he walked out of the room on his own. It almost seemed like nothing had happened to him!”

“Mom, the person behind Lincoln is the chancellor. Nicholas’ uncle.”

Yulia was glad to see that as she said, “So, Nicholas had called his uncle after all.”

“Although the brat seemed a little brash, he’s quite the kind soul too.”

“Oh, it sure seems that the son-in-law mom and uncle chose is more reliable than that penniless bastard.”

Everyone rushed over to Lincoln and the chancellor.

So, Skylar was instantly forced aside. However, Yulia gave him a conflicted look without saying anything.

“You’re awesome, Mr. Wexler. I can’t believe that not only did you save Lincoln, he can walk too. He seems to be doing a lot better than before though.”

“Oh Mr. Wexler, you are a true miracle worker!”

“Thank you so much for saving my son. My wife and I will be treating you to a meal soon.”

However, the chancellor waved his hands around as he said, “I believe there is a misunderstanding here. I didn’t save him, his savior was my master!”

“Huh? You have a master? Where is he then?” Betty asked.

Lincoln nodded and said, “That is correct. Mr. Wexler’s master was the one responsible for saving me.

Oh, and he’s also my master too.”

What is going on?

Everyone looked confused when he said that.

“Oh, he’s literally right under your noses. That handsome kid over there is our master.”

Lincoln approached Skylar and gave him a huge bow before saying, “Thanks for saving me.”

This statement felt like a total bombshell as everyone was shocked to see that.

Skylar was Lincoln’s savior? He’s also Lincoln’s master?

Who am I? Where am I? What is going on?

LIncoln was also shocked to see everyone’s reactions.

“What is up with all of you?”

Betty exclaimed, “Have you lost your mind, Lincoln? He’s nothing more than a penniless footsoldier!

How could you possibly save your life? Oh, please stop being so humble, Mr. Wexler. We know that your nephew Nicholas told you to help my husband.”

Upon hearing this, the chancellor’s expression turned bitter as he said, “It’s all a huge misunderstanding. My master was the one who saved him. Besides, when exactly did Nicholas call me? I didn’t receive any calls?”

The chancellor pulled out his phone and saw that there were no missed calls.

Suddenly, the young doctor that was scolded by Nicholas earlier rushed over.

“What are you doing here, Lenny?” The chancellor asked.

“Sir… Mr. Wexler told me that you’re busy and aren’t able to come over. He wanted me to fill in for you to help save this patient…” The young doctor stuttered nervously.

“You’ve never even performed a surgery before and you’re bold enough to perform a heart surgery?”

The chancellor was livid when he heard that.

The young doctor panicked and said, “But sir, your nephew told me that if I don’t do it, he’ll fire me.”

The chancellor’s expression turned bitter as he said, “All right, you can leave now.”

“Yes sir.” The young doctor was delighted to hear that as he ran away immediately.

Nicholas intended to kill my dad!

Yulia was livid as she took out her phone and called Nicholas.
