Vol. 6 - Chapter 310 - Goal - Meat get! And strange Karua.

“Wow, tell me Zephyr, what's that over there?”

“Those are farms, harvesting areas. I see they’re growing wheat and, cucumber?”

“Hmm, the barley looks completely different from what I'm used to. The cucumbers are the same though."

Sierra mutters her impression, looking confused, when I replied to Lana who was pointing at the farms. I reckon she is comparing them to the drops.

Wheats are already processed the moment one harvest them, while cucumbers remain the same. That being said, what’s with that bizarre choice? Aren’t they grown in different seasons?

Though even if the season is different, the dungeon allows people to collect crops 365 days a year. It's amazing.

We’re currently riding two carriages and I'm sitting next to Estelle, who is leading the way and explaining the collection points that pop up along the way. I was also guiding Ester to the shortest route to the deepest part of the dungeon.

Other members were fascinated by the harvest points that passed by along the way, but I somehow pacified them by explaining ‘There will be more delicious items to harvest in the lower floors’ or ‘We will not be able to reach the deepest floors if we waste our times here’.

“There’s so much to eat at my arm’s reach but I can't eat……”

“Hold out your hunger for now, Karua. I bet there should be more delicious food to eat for lunch.”

“Alright, I will do my best……”

I turn to look in the carriage hearing the conversation taking place there to see Rika embracing Karua, whose long tails and ears were drooping, and encouraging her.

Rika, as she gently stroking her head, looks like a saint. Her expression has softened considerably...she becomes like this when she is caresing something cute.

We reached the lower strata, 11th floor, during all this.

Carriages are really so convenient. There were no obstacles on the path so we had arrived there in just under two hours. Though we did encounter some monsters, all of them dispersed into light particles before Ester.

“Alright, Ester. Stop the carriage over there.”

“Understood.”

She stops the carriage in a slightly spacious place near the middle of the 11th floor.

Today's plan is to take a break and do some exploration in this area first. Although our goal is the lowest level, it would not do good to the excitement of members if we just continue to travel by carriage all the way there. Besides, once we enter lower strata, we can collect significantly higher-quality ingredients.

It is a good place to find and harvest expensive stuff that are either not available for sell or if they're, we may have to pass due to their sky-high price.

Therefore, the plan for the morning is to enjoy harvesting ingredients around this point, and then have lunch with the ingredients we have gathered!

“Alright, everyone please collect ingredients as you like. Make sure to come back when your bag capacity becomes full. Also, I would like everyone to move materials to the carriage’s ‹Item Box› since it has quite a big capacity. We will make lunch with everyone's collected ingredients, so please work hard, also is everyone carrying their respective items for harvesting› Alright, let’s disperse!”

As soon as I was done with stating the precautions, most of the members quickly scampered to the harvesting point of their liking. The ones in helm were Lana, Hannah and Lulu.

I saw them off while thinking, I sure had made them wait.

“You’re not going, Zephyr?”

I turned around to look when someone called out to me from behind.

“Oh, Sierra. No, I’m going to hunt something else.”

“Something else?”

Our lunch will only be a healthy, all vegetables lunch if we make it with just the ingredients gathered from here harvesting point. Well that might be popular with the girls, but I still want something hearty to eat. After all, this body is only 16 years old, and I tend to get hungry quite easily.

“I see. May I tag along?”

“Of course not. Rather the more, the better”

“Err, may I join in too?”

“Hnn, want to go too.”

“Hn?”

I turned around at the voice calling out to see Rina and Karua waving their hands. Huh? I swear I saw them leaving for the farms earlier… did they use a skill perhaps?n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

‹Master-Planner Princess› sense to grasp the situation is on the top so i guess she must immediately sense that Sierra and I are heading for a different place. And Karua… is it her instinct that reacts to meat i wonder?

They don’t need to show talent during such moments though…… (What talent?)

Well, whatever.

“I don’t mind.”

“I also don't mind. However, let's hurry up before the group increases.”

“Right. Let’s go, Rina, Karua.”

“Yes!”

“Hn.”

And so, I, Sierra, Rina and Karua left the farm area and headed to the livestock area.

The livestock area is just a vast grassland-like place where various animals and livestock live. It's mainly where you can obtain food ingredients such as milk, meat, eggs, and cheese. However,

“Ah, livestocks are being attacked by goblins!”

“No way, let’s hurry up and save them. Unique skill ‹Number one Sonic Star›!”

We encountered the scene of several goblins attacking a cow as soon as we arrived. Monsters generally cooperate with each other, and animals are usually attacked by monsters. I don't know why though.

A considerable number of goblins roam around in this ‹Foodstuff and Livestock Dungeon›. They’re the so-called harmful monsters in this space, however you may sometimes find rare ingredients if you stalk them, so it’s rather hard to decide on what to do.

However, for now, it's fine to defeat the goblins that are attacking the livestock.

Karua disappeared in an instant the moment the unique skill was activated, and immediately after, goblins disappeared with a death cry.

“Hn, I’m done.”

“It was an instant. As expected of Eden's No.1 speedster. I didn’t even have the time to come out.”

I wonder what urged her as one moment i saw her dashing out looking more serious than ever, then i saw goblins turning into light particle the next moment. It was literally an insta-kill.

“Goblins are the enemy. They quickly multiply in numbers if you don’t focus on them, they lay waste to the farm, attack the livestock, pull mischief on girls and kick boys. We have been taught to hunt the goblin if we spot them in a group.”

Karua is unusually talkative today. I guess the current scene must have gotten on her nerves. Then Rina eagerly jolting Karua's words in the notepad intrigued me.

Sierra asked while glancing at this scene.

“Hindrance has been cleared. So how are we going to get meat, Zephyr?”

“What, of course like usual, ‹Sonic Sword›.”

“Moo–!?”

I slashed at the cow that had come near as it led down its guard thinking ‘I’m saved~’.

Cow instantly disappeared in the effects and in the spot where it was, raw meat was left behind.

"Animals that appear in the dungeon drop meat, milk, or eggs when defeated."

“C-C-C-Cow is……”

Karua looked stunned as she stared at the meat. What has gotten into her?

Rina and Sierra, however, nodded easily.

“I see, so we just have to take them down.”

“It’s a bit unpalatable but it’s no use moping to get the meat.”

“By the way, they also drop different items depending on how you defeat them, like this ‹Attribute Sword - Fire›!”

“Moo–?”

“Cow-san!?”

I once again slashed at another nearby cow with my Firmament Sword after changing the attribute to Fire.

I felt like Karua let out a rare anguished cry, but it must have been my imagination.

“Cow drops steak when you take them down with fire attribute. Chicken, between, drops ‹Fried Egg› so have fun trying different method.”

Though I was a bit intrigued at the Karua’s eyes that were nailed on the ‹Skillfully Roasted Beefsteak›.
