I could not believe the nerve of that wolf. He dumped me at the entrance of the pack house and went on his way without even saying a single word. Okay, he didn't necessarily dump me, but still, he could have at least said something even a bye could do.
Gosh he is just so frustrating, he was just giving me mixed signals, that's the reason I haven't told anyone yet. The only people that know are Abby and Ella because they witnessed the little displayed I put on earlier and I have been avoiding them since I came back.
It was now dark outside and I won't lie I miss my mate terribly. I have been trying to distract myself all afternoon but nothing seemed to work. I feel restless and anxious, I think it's this strong because our mating is long overdue. My mum has been giving me weird looks since I returned this afternoon, she is definitely on to me.
The doorbell rang and I rushed to get it, anything to keep me busy.
"I'll get it "
I opened the door and nearly tripled over thin air.
"Hello kitten "

The alpha was just staring at me, amused as I was busy internally scolding myself.
"Hunny whose at the door?"
My mother's voice brought me out of my self-inflicted mess. She can't know, not yet at least.
"No one important mum, just the alpha passing by,"

"Alpha, what can we do for you, please come in we were just about to have dinner "
The evil wolf was clearly enjoying this as he smiled at my mother and nodded his head.
I roboticaly stepped aside as he slowly entered just to make a statement. Stupid wolf.
"Liah sweetheart, can I talk to you for a sec"
Oh crap! What shall I do, think Liah think.
"Umm shouldn't we serving dinner mom ,it's probably getting cold "
"Will you excuse us alpha, I just need to talk to my daughter, thank you"
My mother said as she literally dragged me to the back patio.
"Liah, tell me why the alpha is in our dinning ROOM and SMILING "
I awkwardly shifted in my feet as I tried to think.
" ummm mom weren't you the one who invited him"
The death glare my mom gave me ,l almost piss myself. This woman can be scary.
"I didn't know he would show up here not after how things ended anyway, plus I don't think he wants me, who knows maybe he is here to tell you guys that he doesn't want me"
I was rumbling but I couldn't help it, I had bottled all this thoughts and emotions and him just showing up ,just stirred my head more.
" sweetie calm down, what are you going on abo.... oooh oooooh holy mother of all good things!"
Yeah it's hard to hide things from her.
"Why didn't you tell me hunny"
" because he doesn't want me mom"
" he told you that!! that piece of... I'm gonna show him, no one messes with my children "
"Mom come down he didn't exactly say that but he didn't accept me either and I can't blame him, look at me and look at him ,he is the alpha for god sake!"
"HEY don't talk like that about my daughter, you are amazing, I raised you, I know that for sure and if he can't see that then f*ck him, "

"Of course I can I'm a mother . But I think he is just scared and confused. You know the rumors about him and his reputation. Maybe he is afraid how that's gonna change and affect you, been his mate. I mean as a mother I'm also a bit skeptical with the goddess mate choice for you, but the moon goddess never makes mistakes. There's a reason to everything she does, trust me. And remember what you once told me ,the Alpha is the way he is because he lacks some good loving. Just be patient with him hunny. "
"Okay mom" I was now trying to compose myself as I took in my mom's words.
"Besides if he didn't want you he would have already rejected you and he wouldn't be here having dinner with you, smiling "
"Mom he's having dinner with US"
"Oh a mother knows best, now let's go before he starts thinking we run away"
Dinner surprisingly went really well, of course the alpha never altered a single word, but he did make an effort to nod and grunt occasionally. I don't know why but I could somehow understand his silent responses, I even answered for him a few times when my parents asked him some questions and he would just give me a one sided lip lift as an approval smile. Not gonna lie that simple almost non-existent smile made me feel butterflies in my stomach.
Now I was walking him out, my mom forced me and Dad didn't object, such betrayal. Not surprised though, that man worshipped the ground my mom walked on.
"So ummm b...bye"
I think this is progress.
The alpha turn to me and started walking towards me. In alarm I walked back till I hit the front porch pillar. The alpha continue till we were only a breath away. He leaned in, bending down since I am 5'6 and the guy is like 6'7.
He buried his head on my neck sniffing me deeply.
My breath was coming out shaky, I really missed him and now he's near I'm a nervous wreck.
I gathered enough courage to place my hands on his t-shirt clad chest and leaned more into him.
The alpha stiffened then relaxed.
"Good night kitten "
With that he detached from me and walked away. Atleast he makes an effort to use words with me that has to count, right?
