Chapter 21: chapter 20.

To Love A Blind BeastWords: 6482

After reluctantly dropping his mate home, the Alpha and his Beta drove towards the pack house. It was still raining, hence more convenient to drive. Obviously Liam being the one to drive.

They went straight to the conference room, the Alpha clearly not in the  best mood.

The meeting was virtual since the council members were stationed in different offices all over the continent for safety purposes. Some Alphas that had been going through the same problem as Killian attended.

Apparently, the theory his pack had had about the increasing number of rogues was true. Of course it was he trained the best warriors.

Someone was trying and so far succeeding in creating an army of rogues. He was currently targeting some of the best high racked packs. The rogues spotted have yet to kill someone, but cases of vandalism and theft of resources were reported. The rogues also seemed to scout out the said pack territories.

It was obvious as day ,this someone was planning something big. What pissed Killian more was the fact that no one knew who that someone was. All they had was 'the fallen'. What kind of cliche villain called themselves 'the fallen '? How did nobody know any information about a person that was uncreative enough to have a better nickname. Such a person didn't have the capability of hiding their tracks as well as they made it seem.

Alpha Killian was a bit egoistic, but he had the skills and reputation to back him up. He was sure if he put in just a little bit of effort he could find the uncreative bastard.

'The fallen' might be stupid and uncreative but they did pull out something they all thought was impossible, creating an army of rogues. Alpha Killian did give them credit for that, but he knew that type. They were always power hungry individuals who always were delusional enough to think they deserved it. It was almost boring to Killian. But he was a leader and had a whole pack of wolves to protect and more importantly a mate. The thing about this sort of villains, they didn't give a fuck who they hurt or killed to get what they wanted. And he would be damned if he let that happen.

That's how he found himself volunteering to find the 'the fallen '. Well he didn't exactly volunteer more like criticized the council for their incompetence and said he could do it with his eyes closed. It was supposed to be a joke but those stuck up old creatures thought otherwise. Dammn his mate was really rubbing off on him, he was in fact egoistic but didn't necessarily say things that could prove that point, he was a man of actions. What he said did surprise many in the virtual meeting, some even laughed slightly. His little kitten would be so proud.

Let's just say the council wasn't pleased, the meeting was adjourned with Alpha Killian being given the head role that he not so gracefully earned. The council knew the arrogant blind alpha was their best option, and despite his ego, he was better suited for the job.

As they left the conference room, Liam was a bit worried. He also knew his alpha was their best shot, but the reason they had progressed so slowly in the current situation is because alpha Killian had been a little distracted. And by what he saw later that day and in the conference room he could confidently say the alpha was more than a little distracted.

He understood his bestfriend clearly but that didn't stop Liam from worrying.

Proving his point, throughout the meeting Killian's leg was bouncing impatiently under the table. Even now in the car it was still bouncing with his left arm clenching and unclenching ,his gaze distant. Liam knew exactly what the alpha was itching for.

Liam really needed to find a solution to this situation and quick.

By the time they arrived at Liah's house, it was dark outside. The alpha was just about ready to pluck the car door open. Was it just him or the time after they dropped Liah home was agonizingly dragging itself . He initially didn't like the idea of his mate been far away from him for such a long time. But know he was absolutely sure he hated it. The feel of been away from his mate was something he wasn't keen on going through again. Killian just wanted her back at his arms, where she belonged.

The alpha was becoming possessive and he  knew it, but the times of trying to get rid of her are far gone. He had tried and failed miserably.

Killian was busy debating on sneaking to his mate's room when Liam rung the doorbell as if he knew exactly what the smitten alpha was up to.

The alpha wasn't ready to interact with anyone, okay maybe he never really is, but today he didn't have any energy to try, not in the state he is. He just needed a dose of his mate before he tries to interact with anyone else.

But clearly his Beta wasn't having non of that. The alpha just grunted annoyed but stayed still, as still as he could.

Sounds of soft feet reached his ears as they padded towards the door hurriedly. The familiar intoxicating scent hit him first, before a delicate body flung on him.

Tranquility flooded him as soon as the body collided with him. Familiar sparks that he was yet to get used to, spread all over his body as he hosted her up his waist holding her as tightly as she held onto him. He could physically feel his eye color change and his wolf contentment. His head buried deep in her neck, he took a long hungry sniff of her scent releasing it slowly , his body muscles visibly relaxing.

"Hello kitten. "

"Hi, I missed you. "

Fuck ,that voice. At this rate Killian is actually getting scared of what this small delicate woman is doing to him. He can't even go a few a hours without feeling the effects of been away from her physically let alone think of her. It's like he's becoming a drug addict.

The said woman, held his jaw, like she always does, giving his nose an open mouthed noisy kiss then letting out an adorable giggle clearly enjoying watching the effect she had on him. The alpha smiled at her despite himself, only managing to cock an eyebrow at her.

"Aaaah Alpha, beta , what a pleasant surprise, welcome. Liah get off the alpha ,"

"Muuum"

Liah whined determined to hide her embarrassment with her mates body. Liah's mother decided to let them be, especially after the slight glow from the alpha. Neither were willing to let each other go yet.

"Oookay, Beta come right in, we are about to have dinner."

"Thank you ma'am, I'm starving. "

"Oh wonderful, we cooked plenty.Liah darling, don't do anything to that man before you feed him."

"MOM!"
