Chapter 13 Leap in Strength
ãDetroit Ground Combat Technique â Exhibition Skill, Level 2. Agility +0.2, Strength +0.3 and Constitution +0.1.ã
However, it was different from last time. At the end of this leveling up notice it still had a â+â symbol.
Odin was puzzled by the speed of upgrading. Did he unknowingly max up his training skills during the spar with Carna?
Odin did not think twice as he constantly clicked at the â+â symbol.
The moment he clicked the â+â, his combat skills were ceaselessly reforming. He observed in detail and noticed he had learned Carnaâs exhibition skills. Moreover, they had been optimized to fit his own techniques.
For example, Odinâs powerful Mental, due to the constant leveling up, his exhibition skills power would be augmented by his Mental. Each attack he let out would drive the surrounding air current and cause pressure on the enemyâs spirit. Even Carlot and Cardory, who were watching by the side, felt the movement of the current.
Both of them stared at each other and saw astonishment in each otherâs eyes. They had been practicing for a long time yet they never met anyone with such a baffling learning speed.
It was obvious Odin was overwhelmed by Carna at the beginning of the spar. However, during the process, he could swiftly understand Carnaâs techniques and made them his own. What a terrifying learning speed!
Odin was ignorant of the twoâs astonished gaze. Even he himself was stupefied by his leap of strength! After the exhibition skills reached Level 10, there was no more â+â at the end of the message box.
Now Carna was completely out of his league. Odin casually flipped his wrist while dodging Carnaâs attack and launched an eagle claw that was as swift as lightning to grab Carnaâs arm. He leaned forward and threw Carnaâs entire body onto the ground.
She had exhausted a large amount of mental strength during the latter part of sparring. After being violently thrown onto the ground by Odin, she laid flat down on the ground while sweating profusely.
Carna stared at Odin in amazement. She was different from the two spectators since she was the one faced off with Odin. She clearly felt Odinâs progressive changes. From the suppression in the beginning to the ease in the final, his strength increased in a short frame of time. Although she was unwilling, she knew Odin was an existence far beyond her sister.
After defeating Carna, two message boxes appeared in front of Odin.
ãMastered âDetroit Ground Combat Technique â Exhibition Skillsâ. Every 200 times practicing can increase Agility by 2, Strength by 3, and Constitution by 2ã
ãDefeated Strengthened Carna, gained 30 EXP.ã
Odin wiped off the sweats on his forehead and helped Carna up. âI havenât seen you for a few days and you improved so much huh, Carna?â
âYou donât have to snicker at me.â Carna waved her hand. Since she consumed most of her stamina and mental strength, she was too weary to speak.
âOdin, we wonât spar with you first. Iâve fully understood your strength and decided to impart the clubâs highest-level combat skills to you.â Carlot patted Odinâs shoulder. Before this, he was doubting Odinâs capability but now he was confident Odin would lead Detroit Ground Combat Club on the path of glory.
âYour learning speed is baffling. I heard from Carlot that you visited the God of Deathâs church due to you facing some obstacles. Since we chose to properly impart the combat skills to you, that means you are someone we trust. You too can try trusting us, perhaps we could be of help for you.â Cardory was still amazed by the spar but she recalled Carlotâs words thus she was concerned for Odin.
Hearing the word âtrustâ, Odin realized something and tried recollecting how long he had been distrustful of people. After encountering the Black Death Society right after he received the system, he caged his heart even tighter. However, looking at the siblingâs sincerity, Odin chose to tell them about the matters with the Black Death Society and being a vessel of a god.
The siblings remained silent for a while as though unsure how to comfort Odin.
âThis isnât something that can be relied on the God of Deathâs help.â After pondering for a while, Cardory uttered as if remembered something.
âWhat is it?â Odin hurriedly asked, not wanting to miss any opportunities.
âThe campus ranking tournament of the combat club is starting soon. If you represented our club to participate and won first place, maybe one of the prizes would be useful for you.â Cardory added.
âBig sis, itâs inappropriate for him to join the tournament right? Although he is strong and has an outstanding talent, it doesnât mean he could defeat you. If he is unable to defeat you, itâs difficult for him to receive a good result.â Carna frowned when she heard Cardory.
âNo, judging from Odinâs learning speed, itâs only a matter of time before he surpasses me. Perhaps a single spar with me, his strength will tower over mine.â Cardory shook her head and stared at Odin.
âWhat is the useful item you mentioned?â Odin disregarded their discussion on letting him enter the tournament. His only concern was the prize that could help him break off from the Black Death Societyâs grasp.
âItâs something related to the God of Life, its emblem. I donât know the function of the emblem but I heard from others that itâs a powerful treasure and itâs related to combat strength. Although Iâm unsure of the emblem, it will be useful for you to deal with the Black Death Societyâs assault since itâs related to combat.â Cardory stared at Leo with a serious expression.
âThe God of Life? The one who created the Church of Life?â Odin furrowed his brows when he heard the familiar name.
âThatâs right. The ability of the followers of the Church of Life came from the God of Life. However, we were still uncertain of the ability of the God of Lifeâs power even after a long time. I coincidentally had a fight with a follower of the Church of Life. They were as if they had an infinite amount of power, itâs too unbearable.â Carlot added.
âAn infinite amount of power?â Odin felt something flash through his mind when he heard this but he could not recall anything.
