Chapter 34 Adolf
Since Odin was here to pick a fight, how could he fight when he was hiding?
Slowly leaving the staircase, Odin revealed himself to the two men. Due to the uniqueness of the Black Death Societyâs extraordinary, every one of them was able to see the existence of spirits. The moment they saw Odin, a sea of silence engulfed them as they widened their eyes in disbelief.
âIsnât he⦠Isnât he the one?â The young man couldnât believe his eyes and he even rubbed his eyes. If it wasnât for the fluctuation of the mental strength in the air truly existing, he suspected he might be witnessing illusions.
âOdin? How dare you appear here?! John, call Adolf right now!â The old hoarse voice sounded incredulous when he saw Odinâs spirit forms.
âEddy, take care of yourself.â John disappeared at the end of the hallway.
âWhy are you here and why arenât you in your physical state?! Arenât you just looking for your own death?â An evil grin gradually formed on Eddyâs face. If they successfully captured Odinâs spirit form and managed to locate Odinâs physical body for the higher-ups, then those who remained in the HQ would receive plenty of rewards.
Eddy drooled as he stared at Odin like a piece of delicious and juicy meat.
Shaking his head, Odin didnât reply to Eddy, just silently remaining motionless while watching Eddyâs next step.
As expected, the next moment, Eddyâs body became translucent. Looks like he was a Spirit Warlock too but that was it. If it wasnât for being a Spirit Warlock, they wouldnât detect Odin that fast.
While Eddy was becoming translucent, several icicles appeared in the midair and charged at Odin with a powerful force.
It seemed like Eddyâs stage was greater than Watsonâs. His timing of ice skill usage was impeccable and his power was better than Watsonâs.
However, Odin wasnât afraid at all. Without moving from his spots, Odin gathered his spirit energy and conjured an ice barrier blocking Eddyâs icicles. The moment the icicles met the ice barrier, all of the icicles turned into dust and fell to the ground before vanishing.
âHow is that possible?â Eddyâs expression turned ugly when he saw Odin using an ice barrier. âHow do you know the Spirit Warlockâs skills?â Eddy asked aggressively.
âMaybe Iâm smart? I saw one of your people use it before, so I learned a bit of it.â Odin had a casual tone as if talking about something unrelated to him.
âYouâre Crow Godâs Spirit Warlock?â Despite having some inklings, Eddy didnât understand how Odin became a Spirit Warlock.
âThis, you donât have to bother about it. Your mission right now is to defeat me and present me to your higher-ups, right?â Odin coldly glared at Eddy, not wanting to waste any more time chatting.
âYouâre asking for it!â Eddy fiercely swung his fist. What set Eddyâs fist apart from a normal fist was that a layer of thick ice was coated on his fist, increasing the power of the fist.
Since the hallway was narrow, Odin stamped on the wall before spiraling onto the ceiling. Using the momentum, Odin directly placed his kick on Eddyâs head, sending him flying.
John, who went to call for Adolf just now, returned and saw this scene, hurriedly holding Eddy up with a pale and panicked expression.
Pfft! Due to the large momentum, Eddy let out a mouthful of blood. Unbeknownst to him, Odinâs ability had reached this frightening stage. He believed his ice skill that was cultivated to Level 4 was enough to deal with Odin but the usage of ice skill by the person before him wasnât inferior to him in the slightest.
Under Johnâs support, Eddy was barely able to stand up. However, Odin wasnât going to let them off the hook that easily.
Right at this instant, Odin activated his ice skill again. Tens of icicles larger than what Eddy conjured just now appeared midair, darting straight at Eddy and John.
Eddy immediately forcefully conjured an ice barrier in front of him. His internal organs suffered a setback due to ignoring the ice skillâs cooldown but he was unwilling to give up using the ice barrier to resist Odin.
Those tens of icicles were halted by the ice barrier but they didnât become dust immediately. Instead, they were still charging forward like an army trying to penetrate the barrier that was blocking them.
John was panicking. If the icicles managed to break through, both of them would be poked through like a sieve! Moreover, Adolf still required another ten minutes before arriving. How were they going to get past these ten minutes?!
Since John was a Spirit Warlock too, his body became translucent. Gradually, John formed an ice barrier in front of him. The moment Eddyâs ice barrier was pierced through, he hastily covered himself and Eddy with his ice barrier.
In this short period, Eddyâs ice barrier was pierced by Odinâs icicles. If John was any slower in the slightest, both of them wouldnât be breathing right now.
Facing two ice barriers in a row, Odinâs icicles were incapable of penetrating them. Soon, the speed of the icicles dampened and vanished eventually.
Just as Odin was preparing to launch a new wave of attacks, a cloud of black mist appeared at the end of the hallway. As wrapping something, the black mist was slowly heading toward Odin.
Seeing Odin was attracted by the black mist, John felt this was a golden opportunity. He conjured an icicle and bolted it on Odinâs chest.
In reality, Odin clearly saw Johnâs every single action. Slightly leaning his body sideways Odin turned his body before giving a punch to John. It was too late for the icicle to change its direction as it pierced Johnâs chest due to the punch.
âJohn!â Eddy cried out but John was powerless to reply to him. The icicle penetrated through John squarely at the heartâs location.
This type of heart-piercing was unsavable unless a Spirit Warlock with healing skills was on the scene. However, all of the healing Spirit Warlocks were dispatched to Blue Vine University to apprehend Odin. Right now, there wasnât any healer around in the HQ.
Tears filled Johnâs eyes. He died before he could even master the ice skill he just learned. John glared at Odin with hatred before looking at the black mist. He muttered, âAvenge for meâ¦â before becoming silent.
