Just because you'll were very desperate to read the next chapter, just for you'll, I've written the whole chapter in one day and was writing till now.
I'm literally cookedð, updating in the mid night like my sleep scheduled is already fucked up tho.
"Ishika, leave me," he said, his voice cold and detached, shattering my heart into a million pieces as I realized he still harbored anger towards me.
Doesn't he trust me? Does he too believe I shot them? The thought sent a stinging pain through my soul.
Despite his command to break the hug, I refused to let go. I wrapped my arms tighter around him, desperate to hold on to the love we shared. "Ishika, leave me," he repeated, his voice laced with frustration, as he tried to pry me loose by pulling me back by the shoulders.
But I wouldn't budge. I held on to him, my heart pouring out all the love and longing I felt. He jerked away from me, his eyes blazing with anger. "Are you out of your mind?" he exclaimed, his voice dripping with exasperation.
Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I watched him rub his face with his palm, a gesture that spoke of his deep-seated frustration. "Let's go," he said finally, his voice cold and detached, as he turned away from me.
The one thing I hated the most â him looking away from me when I was right in front of him.
"Where?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, as I struggled to get up, my body weak from hunger and exhaustion.
I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday evening, and the emptiness was gnawing at my soul.
"To answer the questions Dadisa will ask you," he replied, his voice laced with anger. "About everything you should have told me before, but you didn't. God knows why." His words cut deep, and I felt my heart bleed with sorrow.
I clutched my saree tightly in my palm, trying to find the strength to face him. "I came to tell you the truth, Avyaan," I said, my voice shaking with emotion.
But he cut me off, his words like a slap in the face. "But did you tell me? No, na?" I felt my mouth shut, my words dying on my lips.
What could I explain to him? The situation? I wanted to explain, but the lack of words made me feel even weaker.
As I stood there, trying to find my voice, my eyes landed on his blood-drenched shirt. My heart sank, and a wave of nausea washed over me. I felt my stomach churn, and my mouth water in anticipation of vomiting.
Covering my mouth with my palm, I rushed towards the washroom, Avyaan's voice calling out to me from behind. I stumbled towards the basin, my vision blurring, and my knees weakening. I threw up, the sound echoing through the washroom, as I desperately needed water to quench my parched throat.
But before I could even think, Avyaan appeared beside me, a glass of water at my lips. "Drink it," he said, his voice soft and gentle, a stark contrast to the anger that had burned in his eyes just moments before.
I drank the water, feeling it soothe my parched throat, but my vision only grew blurrier. I stumbled, my legs giving way beneath me, and everything went silent. I felt Avyaan's arms wrap around me, holding me close.
As I fainted into his chest.
"Biwi," he whispered, his voice laced with desperation, as he gently tapped on her cheeks. His tension grew harder, his anxiety palpable, as he scooped her up in his arms and rushed into the bedroom. Laying her down, he quickly called the doctor, his eyes never leaving her pale face.
As he sat beside her, his chest felt heavy with an unspoken hurt. "I know I shouldn't have been so hard on you," he began, his words faltering, but he continued, his voice cracking with emotion.
"But because of you, my both sisters are lying there, unconscious, shot by someone... I don't know who." His inner turmoil spilled out, his eyes welling up with tears as he gazed at her fragile form.
His voice broke as he spoke, his words barely above a whisper. "I still don't know what happened between you three, but if I find out that the truth was more important to hide... " He trailed off, his eyes locked on hers, searching for answers.
"Then no one will be worse than me," he vowed, his voice trembling. "I know I wouldn't be able to harm you... " He gulped, a lone tear escaping his eye. "But I wouldn't be able to be the same, I was."
His eyes were a window to his soul, a maelstrom of emotions swirling within. On one side, his sisters lay injured; on the other, his wife, whom he knew couldn't have pulled the trigger, but had lied, leading to this catastrophic outcome.
Just then, a voice shattered his thoughts. "Avyaan," his chachisa called out, standing in the doorway. He rose, wiping his forehead, his heart heavy with worry. "What happened to her?" she asked, her eyes narrowing.
He hesitated, his voice barely above a whisper. "She fainted... maybe due to weakness." His heart sank, thinking about how he had locked her up the whole night, leaving her without food or water.
His chachisa's words cut deep. "Yeah, after making two people hang by a thread, she must be exhausted." Avyaan's fist clenched, but he spoke calmly. "Chachisa, please... "
But she wouldn't relent. "What, please Avyaan? Your wife is a killer who tried to kill your sisters, and still, you're blinded by your love for her?" Her words dripped with venom, and Avyaan's eyes flashed with anger.
But he took a deep breath, speaking with conviction. "You know, Chachisa, she can never do that. The situation made us think that way, but I know it's not true." His voice was firm, his eyes locked on hers.
His chachisa raised an eyebrow. "Okay, she didn't try to kill them, but didn't she hide things from us? Things that led to this situation?" Avyaan's gaze faltered, and he looked away, unable to defend Ishika against this accusation.
Just then, the doctor appeared at the door. "Can I come in?" She asked, her eyes scanning the room. Avyaan nodded, and the doctor entered, followed by the rest of the family.
"Can you all please go out?" They all nodded and went out one by one. On the last, Mehek was about to go out, that's when her eyes laid on the reports lying near the left side of the door.
Her heart skipped a beat as she felt a surge of curiosity. "I will be here," she moved inside and closed the door. The doctor didn't say anything, as one family member staying there was allowed.
The doctor continued her work, where Mehek bent down and picked up the file. With a gulp, she opened it, her eyes widened in shock. "She's pregnant," a low whisper escaped her mouth, her voice trembling with emotion.
She closed the file abruptly, scared of what might happen if someone found out. She moved to the washroom, closing the door behind her.
Without even thinking for a second, she walked towards the toilet, her mind racing with thoughts of revenge. She took out the papers and tore them with an evil smirk on her lips, feeling a sense of satisfaction.
She threw them inside and flushed the water, watching as the papers vanished. "I will not let anyone know about this, never," her evil smirk never leaving her lips.
She abruptly came into the bedroom, where she found the doctor checking Ishika's stomach with a smile. She got that the doctor too now knew that she's pregnant, but she'll never let this come out from her mouth.
"You will not tell this news to anyone," Mehek's authoritative tone made the doctor look at her confusingly, her eyes wide with fear.
"Why, it's good news, she's prâ" Before she could finish, Mehek cut her off, her voice cold and detached. "I know," Mehek walked to her, her eyes blazing with intensity.
"But you will not tell this to anyone, got it?" The doctor got up, her face pale with anxiety. "No, ma'am, I can't do this. It's good news; I can't hide it."
Mehek's next words were laced with bribery, her voice dripping with malice. "5 lakhs." The doctor gulped, her eyes darting towards the door. "Sorry," the doctor spoke, as if she must have misheard.
"10 lakhs," Mehek's offer escalated, her eyes gleaming with a sinister light. The doctor's eyes widened, her face etched with guilt. "15 lakhs," Mehek's voice was firm, her tone unyielding.
The doctor nodded the next second, her expression a mix of guilt and temptation. "Good, now go out," Mehek ordered, her voice cold and detached. The doctor nodded and moved out, her eyes cast down in shame. The family looked at her to hear what had happened.
"Nothing serious, she's just weak. Let her rest; it will be fine in some hours," the doctor assured them, her voice laced with the weight of Mehek's secret. Everyone nodded, and she left, her heart heavy with the burden of Mehek's deceit.
"We will discuss this matter once Ishika awakes," dadisa declared, Everyone nodded in agreement and departed to their respective rooms, exhausted from the sleepless night at the hospital. Avyaan, however, remained standing at the doorstep, his heart weighed down by the burden of uncertainty.
With a deep sigh, he stepped inside, deliberately avoiding eye contact with Ishika. He knew that one glance at her fragile form would weaken his resolve, making it impossible for him to remain firm in his pursuit of the truth. He needed to maintain a distance, no matter how painful it was.
Avyaan retreated into the washroom, seeking solace in the warm water that cascaded down his weary body.
He closed his eyes, allowing the liquid to wash away the physical fatigue, but his mind remained restless. The bloodstained shirt, a haunting reminder of the previous night's events, slowly lost its crimson hue as the water flowed.
As the warmth seeped into his muscles, his thoughts drifted to Ishika. Her laughter echoed in his mind, a bittersweet reminder of happier times. Her words, once filled with love and affection, now taunted him like a cruel joke.
"Kya, patidev"
"Spelling mistake, patidev?"
"You're very bad?"
"I love you?"
"Biwi, ho toh mere jaisi"
A faint smile crossed his lips, a testament to the enduring power of their love. In that moment, he longed to remain trapped in the memories of their time together, to never face the harsh reality that awaited him outside the washroom.
But the pain of her deception cut deep, and his anger boiled over. "You shouldn't have lied, biwi," he whispered, his eyes still closed. "You shouldn't have." His fist clenched, and he punched the wall, the sound echoing through the silence.
Avyaan's eyes snapped open, bloodshot and red-rimmed from the intensity of his emotions. He shed his clothes and stood under the shower, allowing the water to wash away his tears and his frustration. As he emerged, tying a towel around his torso, he felt a sense of trepidation, he changed into a tshirt and trouser.
He didn't want to, but his heart betrayed him. His eyes drifted towards Ishika, and his legs began to move towards her, as if drawn by an unseen force.
His eyes never leaving her face, he sat beside her, the water droplets falling from his hair like tears. He held her hands in his palm, his touch gentle, and pecked on them softly.
"I don't know what step I will take after hearing the truth, but remember, at the end, you've to be with me only," he whispered, his voice husky with emotion. "Even if the truth is the worst, still, at the end, you've to be with me." He buried his head in her hands, his words a heartfelt plea.
The statement came directly from his heart, a declaration of his love and devotion. He cared for his wife and sisters, but when one was the reason for the other's suffering, he couldn't choose between them. He didn't want to choose.
"I know, I fucking know you didn't shoot them," he spoke in one breathless sentence. "Even if you tell me you did, I won't trust you, because I know what my wife is and what she can do." His words hung in the air, a testament to his unwavering faith in her.
"But one thing you did wrong was hiding the truth," he continued, his voice cracking with emotion. "And that will cost us... we don't know what." The room fell silent, Suddenly, he felt her hands move, and he looked up at her face. "Biwi," he called out, his voice trembling with hope.
She slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry at first, but as it cleared, she looked at his face. Yet, she didn't move or speak, her expression a mask of pain and hurt.
His words had cut her deep, and she felt like she was drowning in a sea of despair. A pang of hurt felt in his heart, and he reached out to her, but she turned away, looking at the other side of the room.
"Ishika," he spoke, his voice firm but laced with a hint of desperation. She didn't respond, and he called out again, his tone irritated. "Ishika!" This time, she looked at him, her eyes telling him exactly how she felt â hurt, betrayed, and alone.
He opened his mouth to ask her how she was feeling, if she needed anything, but instead, he ended up questioning her about the gun. "That gun, where did you find it?" he asked, his tone rough and accusatory. She didn't react, her expression a mask of calmness.
"Please, Avyaan, not now," she whispered, her voice soft and filled with tiredness. "I'm tired of explaining everything." But Avyaan wouldn't let up. "I asked you, where did you find that gun? Answer me!" he demanded, his voice rising in anger.
She looked at him, her eyes empty, and spoke without any emotion. "It was on the sofa." She knew that crying and begging wouldn't change anything, not now, not in front of Avyaan, who was torn between his love for her and his duty to his family.
So, she decided to answer his questions, to tell him what he wanted to know, even if it killed her.
Before he could ask further, a mocking voice pierced the air, shattering the fragile calm. "So finally, the ranisa is awake," Mehek sneered, her tone venomous as she sauntered towards them.
"So, why are you still lying here, after trying to kill people? You will rest now, wowwww." Her mocking laughter cut deep, leaving Ishika's heart bleeding.
Avyaan took a step forward, his eyes blazing with anger, but Ishika's palm held his hand, stopping him from uttering a word. "Chachisa, what would I gain by trying to kill them?" Ishika questioned, her voice laced with pain and desperation, as she searched for answers.
Mehek glared at her, her eyes blazing with accusation and malice. "What would you gain? You would be the one to rule here when the daughters of this family are no more. So, you tried to kill them."
Her words were spoken with a calmness that belied their cruelty, and Ishika felt her heart shatter into a million pieces.
The weight of Mehek's words crushed Ishika, and tears brimmed in her eyes as she looked at Avyaan, who was already looking at her, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
The tear fell down, and the next second, he walked outside without looking back, leaving her alone to fight with her thoughts, her heart screaming in agony.
"Come down fast, everyone is waiting," Mehek ordered, her voice dripping with triumph, and left too. Tears continuously rolled down Ishika's face as she whispered, her voice barely audible, The words hung in the air, a testament to the devastating blow she had suffered.
"Congratulations, Avyaan Singh Rathore, you won,You finally shattered me."
