The exams were finally over, and with the weight of academic pressure lifted off their shoulders, the group unanimously agreed: it was time to unwind. And what better way to do that than to recreate their legendary blanket fort-bigger, cozier, and packed with enough snacks to rival a convenience store?
The common room in Amber's dorm became their battleground once again. Blankets were pulled from every corner of the dorms, pillows were stacked high, and fairy lights were draped haphazardly across their creation.
Amber directed traffic like a commander on the field, pointing at Lumine and Ayaka to handle the blankets while Aether and Venti argued over the placement of the fairy lights. Albedo calmly adjusted pillows for structural integrity, while Kazuha sat cross-legged in the corner, tying small knots on the edges of the blanket walls to keep them from slipping.
Scaramouche, predictably, had been "supervising" from the couch with a bag of chips in hand, occasionally throwing sarcastic remarks at the chaos unfolding before him.
Eventually, the structure stood proud-a sprawling blanket fort glowing softly with warm fairy lights, large enough to fit all eight of them comfortably.
The snack haul was no less impressive: mountains of chips, buttery popcorn, assorted candies, chocolate bars, and an alarming number of soda bottles.
They all piled into the fort, settling into their respective spots. Amber had her stash of crisps tucked under her arm. Venti immediately snatched a soda can and dramatically cracked it open. Ayaka gracefully arranged a little corner with neatly placed popcorn bags and chocolates. Albedo sat back with a bowl of popcorn in his lap, scrolling idly through his tablet.
Aether and Lumine squeezed into the center of the fort, with Snowball happily nestled between them. Kazuha leaned against a stack of pillows, his eyes reflecting the soft glow of the lights.
Scaramouche, despite all his earlier grumbling, had somehow claimed the prime spot near the entrance, looking incredibly smug about it as he slowly unwrapped a chocolate bar.
The evening unfolded in cozy bliss. They played casual games, shared embarrassing school stories, and debated over which soda flavor was superior.
At one point, Amber tried to teach everyone how to make shadow puppets with the fairy lights, which resulted in Venti creating a horrifyingly bad bunny shape that had everyone wheezing with laughter.
Lumine leaned her head against a pillow, her eyes sparkling as she looked around at her friends. Despite their differences, their chaotic energy, and Scaramouche's constant sarcasm, moments like this made her heart feel full.
As the night stretched on, conversations grew softer, and laughter was replaced by the occasional yawn. One by one, they began to drift off, the soft glow of the fairy lights casting gentle shadows over their sleeping faces.
Snowball purred quietly, curled up beside Lumine. Scaramouche, who had insisted he wasn't tired, had his head propped against a pillow, eyes closed, breathing steady.
For one night, there were no exams, no stress, and no worries-just warmth, friendship, and the comfort of a blanket fort filled with chaotic, wonderful people.
