After the initial chaos, the group decided to settle down, though the teasing hadn't completely stopped. Amber, ever the instigator, had a final trick up her sleeve.
As everyone gathered for a late Valentine's movie night in the common room, Amber passed out bowls of popcorn and drinks, purposely skipping Lumine and Scaramouche.
"Mom and Dad can share," she announced with a grin, earning another groan from Lumine and a death glare from Scaramouche.
"You're really pushing your luck," Scaramouche muttered, but Amber only winked in response.
Lumine sighed, leaning back into the couch. "Why do I even bother arguing with them?" she whispered to herself.
"You shouldn't," Scaramouche replied, his voice softer now as he leaned closer. "They're too stupid to take a hint."
Lumine chuckled despite herself. "Well, at least they seem to be having fun."
Halfway through the movie, Venti struck again.
"Mom, Dad, can you keep it down back there?" he teased, glancing over his shoulder at the couple.
"We're not even talking," Scaramouche snapped.
"Exactly. It's suspicious how quiet you're being," Venti replied with a smirk.
"Venti, I swear-" Scaramouche started, but Lumine grabbed his arm, stopping him before he could throw the popcorn bowl.
"Ignore him," she whispered, though her cheeks were still red.
The teasing didn't stop there. Amber, Kazuha, and Venti continued to call them "Mom" and "Dad" at every opportunity, turning even the smallest actions into a joke.
When Scaramouche passed Lumine a drink:
"Aw, Dad's taking care of Mom!"
When Lumine adjusted Scaramouche's scarf:
"Look, Mom's fixing Dad's outfit!"
By the end of the night, Lumine had reached her limit.
"Alright, that's enough!" she said, standing up abruptly. Everyone froze, caught off guard by her sudden outburst.
Scaramouche smirked, clearly enjoying the shift in power. "Finally."
Lumine crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes at her friends. "If you're going to keep calling us that, then you'd better behave like proper kids!"
Amber blinked. "Wait, what?"
"You heard me," Lumine said, her tone firm. "No more staying up late, no more sneaking snacks into your rooms, and definitely no more pranks!"
Venti pouted. "But that's half the fun!"
"Exactly," Lumine replied with a triumphant smile.
Scaramouche leaned back, arms crossed, clearly enjoying the sight of their friends squirming. "I like this side of you," he whispered to Lumine.
She rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at her lips.
The group finally relented, apologizing halfheartedly before retreating to their rooms for the night.
As Lumine and Scaramouche headed to her dorm, she sighed. "I can't believe they actually listened."
"That's because you're scarier than you look," Scaramouche teased, earning a playful shove.
When they reached her door, Scaramouche lingered for a moment. "Hey," he said softly, catching her attention.
"Hm?" Lumine turned to face him.
He hesitated, then leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Happy Valentine's Day, Lumine," he murmured.
Her cheeks flushed as she smiled up at him. "Happy Valentine's Day, Kuni."
As he walked back to his dorm, Scaramouche smirked to himself. Despite all the chaos, this had turned out to be a Valentine's Day he wouldn't forget.
I'LL BE MAKING BOOK 2 OF THIS ð
