Ravan's POV

After I arrived home from the shopping centre, I ordered a new Lego set of the Milky Way off of Amazon.

Despite having Amazon Prime for the past 5 years, it still amazed me at the speed of my order's arrival.

It was Sunday and I had nothing to do, so I decided that I'd complete my weekly day of lego building. Generally I would also have baked cupcakes, but since the letter still plagued my mind I didn't feel up to them. Instead I made myself a nice hot chocolate before laying down on my floor.

I wrapped my pastel rose weighted blanket around my body before grabbing the scissors out of the drawer to begin opening the first 3 brick packets. I cringed at flashbacks of my first date with Rowan, and was especially careful when handling the sharp objects.

I could not wait to begin assembling this set. Although it was one of the trickier sets I guessed I'd be able to complete it within 2 of my Lego days.

As I clicked the blocks together and sorted through different packets, my mind drifted to what had happened at the shops, and how Rylan had behaved.

I was still really embarrassed about crying and breaking down in front of him in sushi train, but he seemed so nice. The things I had seen in his metallic eyes were so genuine yet so unnatural for his usual demeanour.

It was especially unnatural how easily his scent calmed me down, filling my soul with gentle thoughts. The way he held me was so warm and comforting, like being wrapped in a familiar weighted blanket.

I felt this way about Rowan often, but never Rylan before; he was uncharted waters. Still, I knew that my heart belonged to the spirit of the sea in Rowan, and I could never love anyone else.

Much like my Lego set, I was floating between the gravitational pulls of two planets; a moon that could never belong to either but was eternally drawn to both.

I had spent 2 hours on the Milky Way when an alert came through on my phone.

Normally my phone was silent on these days, except for notifications from Gael and my Ring doorbell camera. I knew it wasn't going to be Gael as, deep down I knew he wouldn't try anything again.

Taking a look at the doorbell app, there was a person wearing a plain midnight hoodie with matching trackies. There was a black mask covering their features, but their gunmetal grey orbs stood out to me even through the grainy footage. Their eyes were so different to Gael's brown ones.

I couldn't tell what this feeling was, but I was unsteady. What were they doing?

"Hello Ravan Goodman, how are you on this fine day? I know you can see me right now." Their eyes were focused directly at the lens of my doorbell. Their voice was regal and deceptive. It didn't sound at all like Gael. Maybe he was telling the truth?

I should probably have called Rylan, who would, despite his icy black heart, come and save me, but before I could reach for the landline, the mysterious human began to speak once more.

"Don't bother calling anyone, I will be out of your pretty raven locks soon." For some reason, I followed their instructions, not wishing to cause any unnecessary drama.

The stranger leaned in closer to the camera, so that their silhouette took up the entirety of my phone screen and I could stare directly into their piercingly haunting eyes. A shiver ran down the length of my spine and I trembled.

"I warned you before with the note, and once again you did not listen. How can you not understand that I am just trying to keep you alive? I have explained those boys' problems, but you did not seem to comprehend. This is my final warning. Get yourself away from them or people you care about will get hurt. That is all. Sincerely, Grus."

They leaned away from the lens of the doorbell slowly and set down a skateboard, keeping their eyes locked with mine through the phone. Turning away finally, they stepped onto the board and quickly made their escape.

I was paralyzed, watching them gradually retreat away from my house and disappear into the surrounding street. Only when they had glided completely out of sight did my brain finally catch up with my body.

My breath caught fast in my throat as I struggled to take in precious oxygen. My phone fell out of my limp hand onto the carpet, and I barely heard the dull thump it made over the blood roaring in my ears.

Tears spilled out of my eyes like a sudden rain and I let out a gut-wrenching sob.

The letter, Gael, all of it was too much. With my heart racing to hammer its way out of my ribcage, I grabbed my cat and held her close to calm myself down. She seemed unhappy as she began to claw at me.

Blood was being drawn from my clammy hands but I refused to let go. Eventually, after realising I wasn't letting her go any time soon, she begrudgingly stayed where she was.

This wasn't just a letter or a dispute between friends anymore. This could be real. I sucked in a shaky breath, and then another, my sense of my surroundings returning to me slowly.

No.

I would not abandon Rowan and Rylan. I loved Rowan more than anything, and Rylan's kindness the other day proved to me that I could trust him too.

All of us, we were connected, our fates intertwined. I was sure of it. The thought came to me without warning, and I didn't understand why I felt so strongly, but I knew it in my heart to be true.
