Chapter 27: Chapter 27

LEXI

Professor Calvin might as well have been speaking Spanish for all the attention Lexi paid to him. After her tryst with the Gray Billionaire, her brain shut off.

After class, Lexi packed her belongings and walked out of the main campus building. Daniel was leaning against his car, waiting for her.

“Hurry up, slow poke,” he called as she began walking toward him. “I’m hungry.”

Lexi fought to keep a straight face, but it didn’t work. A blush spread out across her cheeks and then continued on, turning the rest of her skin bright pink.

She placed her bag in the backseat as he opened the front passenger door. “Thanks,” she said, climbing in and buckling her seatbelt.

Daniel got in and started the car. “Do you need to go grocery shopping or something?”

It was a good question, but Lexi giggled and shook her head. “My roommate keeps the apartment stocked,” she told him as they left the parking lot.

“I’m looking forward to meeting her.”

“Another time—she’s out of town right now. But don’t be too quick to want an introduction. She knows your kind very well and played a huge part in my change toward you.”

There were a million things Daniel could’ve said, but his actual reply was unexpected. “Sounds like she and I will become very close then.” He smirked and sped toward her home.

Lexi shook her head and turned her face toward the window. She watched buildings disappear as quickly as they came into view.

Lexi had never felt jealous about Reece spending time with other people, but maybe that’s because her relationships were never deep. Hearing Daniel say he wanted to be friends with Reece rubbed her the wrong way. She loved her best friend more than anything and didn’t want to share her with anyone. Not even Daniel.

When Daniel stepped into her modern apartment, he ran a finger along the velvet couch, feeling the fabric before he sank into it. “I love this,” he complimented with a smile.

Lexi walked to the kitchen to wash her hands and prepare the ingredients for dinner. She was about to fasten her apron around her waist when she was lifted onto the kitchen counter. Her legs spread wide as two lips pressed against her neck and a hot tongue slowly licked the spot that made her shake on the inside.

Lexi was stunned.

Daniel made quick work of her sundress, twisting the fabric this way and that way until her breasts were revealed. “Jesus,” is all he said as he sucked one nipple into his mouth and used his expert fingers to toy with the other.

A long moan slipped from Lexi’s throat. She felt drenched and excited in all the right places.

Daniel feasted on her breasts until he was satisfied. Seemingly until he had branded their size and weight permanently in his brain. He then kissed every corner of her mouth, acquainting himself with her scent, her moans, her squirming movements, and the way she tightened her fingers in his hair when she was close to an orgasm.

Daniel stepped away.

“I’m hungry,” he complained with a cheeky grin.

Lexi wasn’t sure if she wanted to slap him or beg him to continue what he had started. He helped put her dress back into place before lifting her from the counter.

When he set her down, she shoved him a little too hard. “Get out,” she said.

Daniel chuckled as he walked out. “Fine. I’m gonna get my laptop from the car and do some work while you cook.”

Lexi couldn’t possibly admit that she would miss him for the few seconds he was gone. Instead, she washed her hands again.

Daniel returned with his laptop bag, cell phone, and chargers for both devices. The minute he switched his phone and laptop on, it was as if her living room was his office. Business calls and emails kept pouring in.

Lexi couldn’t help but admire the man sitting on her couch. Just a few minutes ago, he was a pervert ravaging her breasts and kissing her like a starving beast, but now he was the composed CEO. She couldn’t help but find him attractive in every possible way.

Hoping she didn’t get so distracted that she screwed up the meal, Lexi began cooking. When all the ingredients were prepared, she lit the stove, placed the skillet, drizzled some oil, and dropped in a few cubes of garlic. Once the cubes were sizzling, she added minced green onions and diced seasoned chicken to the heated pan. Stirring until the chicken was evenly cooked and coated, she turned down the stove and placed a cover to let it simmer. In a small pot, Lexi cooked vegetables.

It was a simple meal, but Lexi was sure to put all her effort into it. Tasting every few minutes to ensure perfection, she finished cooking and turned off the stove. She creatively plated their food, set the island with utensils, wine glasses, and called to him.

“Work time is over. Come eat.”

When he came over, Daniel said, “Thank you for dinner,” and leaned in to kiss her cheek. Lexi blushed deep red.

They ate in silence. Daniel finished everything on his plate and poured wine into both their glasses, but Lexi couldn’t finish her meal. She still felt his lips and hands on her body. Her skin had become so sensitive that she was sure if he touched her again she would not be able to sleep tonight.

She feared she might never be the same again.

Lexi busied herself in the kitchen once more, doing dishes while Daniel returned to his work calls. When she was finished, she waved her hand to get his attention.

“Hold on. My girl is saying something,” Daniel said to the person on the line.

Lexi couldn’t control the smile that spread across her face. ~He said “my girl.”~ She mentally rejoiced at the personal growth Daniel had made.

“I’m going to shower,” she whispered, embarrassed.

He nodded and blew her a kiss.

Lexi walked unsteadily to the bathroom, fighting to keep the happy squeal buried inside. She undressed and turned on the warm water in the shower, but when she began lathering soap on her body, she found that the suds had changed from white to red.

“Dammit!” she cursed aloud, annoyed at the sudden arrival of her period. “Ugh!”

Lexi finished showering and carefully dried her body before grabbing a small pad and clean panties from her drawer. She cursed as she put them on. “This fucking shit had to choose this very moment to show up.”

She searched for a nightgown but couldn’t find any. She always wore pajamas or Mickey Mouse T-shirts to sleep.

With her underwear on and a towel around her, Lexi sat on her bed and texted her best friend.

Lexi

Daniel’s here. My period just came and I have nothing to wear.

Almost as soon as she hit send, her best friend responded with a witty reply.

Reece

Periods don’t matter. He’ll fuck you just like that if you’re willing. Lol.

Lexi gasped loudly and covered her mouth. She typed back immediately.

Lexi

Who said anything about sex? I’m not having sex. I just don’t want to look too childish while he’s here.

Reece

Girl I was born at night but not last night. You’re probably horny as fuck right now.

Lexi stared wide-eyed at the words on her screen. Before she could come up with a reply, a new message came in.

Reece

Go into my room, look in my bedside drawer and take out the black satin gown. It’s long but its classy and sexy at the same time. It has an open back and your nipples will look great in it. Good luck, Ms. I’m-Not-Gonna-Have-Sex. Lol

Lexi sent her best friend the shocked emoji, but then she hurried to Reece’s room to fetch the nightgown. The satin material felt good on her body. She twirled in the mirror, enjoying the way it looked on her, and put her hair up in a top knot.

When Lexi finally returned to the living room, Daniel stopped everything he was doing. He didn’t even bother to end his phone call respectfully; he simply pushed the end button and threw the phone behind him.

Seeing him look at her hungrily, Lexi felt her cheeks become red. She suddenly felt shy. “I-I was going to put a movie on, but it’s okay if you’re still working.”

Daniel put his laptop away, switched off his phone, and followed Lexi to her room. As he looked around at the girly, homely decorations, Lexi felt self-conscious.

“I like your room,” Daniel complimented her as he removed his jacket and pants.

Trying to avoid looking at his crotch in his boxer shorts, Lexi climbed into bed and flipped through the DVDs on her bedside table. “Your room is probably two times the size of mine,” she teased.

“I don’t have a room, Draya. I sleep at my office or in hotels. I didn’t see the point of paying mortgage or rent or even buying a property when it’d just be me staying there.”

~So, he’s technically homeless.~

Lexi selected a movie and handed it to Daniel. Once he placed it in the DVD player, he joined her on the bed.

“I took my pants off because I didn’t want to wear my outside pants in your bed,” he said, pulling her into his arms and nuzzling her neck. “What’s your excuse for wearing this outfit?”

Lexi shivered in his tender embrace. “I didn’t put this on to seduce you, if that’s what you’re thinking. My roommate told me to wear it.”

Daniel cuddled up to her and chuckled softly. “I’m liking this roommate more and more.”
