âA-A public appearance?â Eun-sun dumbfoundedly stared at Dan-Han, her brain trying to check if she had heard him correctly.
âYes.â Dan-Han confirmed as he took in her stunned look. Eun-sun blinked once and again, her heart suddenly picking up pace as it began to beat with fear and anxiety.
A public appearance with Dan-Han? Was he trying to say he wanted everybody to know she was the one he was dating? That was definitely what he was trying to say. Her eyes went round and wide again.
Though they had both gone out a few times, on dates and stuff, somehow their relationship has been kept under the radar. Eun-sun didnât need to ask, because she knew it was all Dan-Han. He was protecting her, because he knew only that would make her comfortable.
Dan-Hanâs brows slightly furrowed as he observed her countenance. âYou donât want it?â He asked, his voice holding a bit of anxiety in them.
âI..â Eun-sun hesitated.
âItâs okay. I know itâll be difficult for you as Iâm publicly known. If you donât want to, I understand.â He told her.
.....
âReally?â Eun-sun cautiously asked, her gaze accessing Dan-Hanâs face. She knew how much he always wanted to take her along with him wherever he went. He had never failed to mention the fact that he wanted the whole world to know she was his woman, and she wouldnât lie that she didnât want that. She desperately wanted it.
She wanted to stick her claim on him and tell everyone he was all hers, but she knew she couldnât. She wasnât ready for that. Dan-Han was among the top people in the country, and everyone would expect his woman to be someone of some social standing with good background and some influence, but she didnât have that.
She didnât know have the most basic of all requirements. A family. So how exactly could she face everyone when she stood at his side.
Dan-Han peered at her as he observed the despondence in her eyes. He could tell she was thinking about something that would really upset him because he had a feeling what her thought was all about, but he sighed and kissed her forehead.
âI donât mind. As long as I have you, Iâm okay.â He told her.
Eun-sun silently peered at him. She had something to say to him. She wanted to tell him, she would be with him forever, and that he should give her a bit more time, because soon sheâd proudly stand at his side, facing the whole world and not bothered about what theyâd say, or what theyâd find out about her.
Dan-Han eased her on the bed and wrapped his arms around her.
âLetâs sleep. Tomorrow we have a long trip, and you need all the rest you can get.â
.....
The next morning, Dan-Han helped Eun-sun get ready, despite her insistence of doing it by herself.
Eun-sun still couldnât help but feel mortified whenever Dan-Han bathed her or dressed her up. Doing stuff like this has somewhat become a routine since the incident.
âDan-Han, you really donât have to do this. Iâm better now, and I can do all this stuff on my own. I even went shopping yesterday. Really, Iâm good.â She told him, even though she knew it would fall on deaf ears.
She watched as his hands pulling up her skirt paused and his lifted his eyes to her. âAre you sure youâre better?â He asked, his voice a lazy drawl.
Eun-sun readily nodded her head, but she paused when she saw the way his eyes darkened at her.
âSo youâll be fine if I bend you over that table right and take you from behind?â
âHmm?â Eun-sunâs mind spaced out, and her eyes darted towards the only table in room which she had been using as a vanity table since they arrived two days ago.
Her cheeks flushed at the imagination of his words. Her eyes darted right back to him when she heard him scoff.
âYou should be careful what you say around me, Park Eun-sun. That I might be going easy on you, doesnât mean itâs a thing of choice.â His hands resumed pulling up her skirt, and Eun-sun flinched when he intentionally traced a finger along her inner thighs.
âDoing these things for you make me go crazy, but I keep myself calm because I see it as some rehearsal to when youâre finally mine and you have my baby inside of you. Do you understand?â
Eun-sun lifted her eyes to his that were intently staring at her and she obediently nodded. Sometimes this man scared the day light out of her, just as much as he made her heart skip.
Eun-sun didnât mutter one more more word till Dan-Han combed her hair and packed their bags. He called in Ni-Na who was also ready as she strolled in with her suitcase.
Eun-sun still couldnât help but notice she still had that same look on her face since yesterday, like she hadnât slept or she was heavily bothered in her mind.
âWhere exactly are you going?â Ni-Na asked as she languidly plopped down on the sofa.
Dan-Han turned to her and cocked a brow, âWhy? You donât want to go? Or you want to come with us?â
Ni-Na wearily sighed. âNeither.â She replied. âI just want to go home.â
Eun-sun keenly observed her. Ni-Na wanting to go home wasnât something out of the ordinary, but wanting to give up on a trip, or not even showing any enthusiasm about it, now that was out of ordinary.
âAre you sure? Maybe you can come with us. Can she?â Eun-sun looked at Dan-Han.
âNo.â Dan-Han replied, while Ni-Na turned to her.
âI donât want to go anywhere either. Thanks for letting me tag along on this one though. It was fun.â She smiled, but that even made Eun-sun stare at her more intently. She had never seen Ni-Na give a half smile which barely touched her eyes. Something was wrong with her and she knew it.
Eun-sun dragged her feet back as she walked with Ni-Na as they strolled across the lobby of the hotel.
âAre you okay?â Eun-sun asked with concern. She had made up her mind to be more involved in the life of the people that mattered to her and Ni-Na was one of those people.
Ni-Na raised a quizzical brow and looked at her. âYes. Why?â She asked, wondering why Eun-sun was asking.
Eun-sun shrugged. âYou just look like youâre bothered about something, and I must say it has been on your face since yesterday.â
Ni-Na gave a dismissive smile. âItâs nothing really. Iâm just tired. Iâll be fine when I get home.â
âAre you sure?â Eun-sun curiously asked. âI can ask Dan-Han to take you with -â
âItâs okay, really. I donât think I want to travel anywhere, and I also have to start getting ready to go back to school. Iâve been around for too long and the semester is just around the corner.â
âYouâll be going back to school?â Eun-sun knew she would have to return to school at some point, but she wasnât expecting it to be so soon. She was going to miss her.
âHow soon?â She inquired.
âA week, or two.â Ni-Na replied with a shrug. After yesterday, sheâd like it to be sooner, but she knew she still had to get some stuff ready.
âThen I guess weâll be back by then. Donât leave before we return, okay?â She said with an almost pleading tone, and Ni-Na nodded with a smile.
âSure Iâll wait.â As far as she didnât get to encounter In-Ha, sheâll definitely wait.
