Chapter 1042:
âRaymond, go buy some food again,â Bryan instructed. He then opened the lunchbox and slid it toward Eileen. âYou eat first.â
âIâm not hungry,â Eileen mumbled, poking at the food with a fork. âNeed me to feed you?â Bryan asked.
The words sent a shiver down Eileenâs spine. The memory of Bryan force-feeding her medicine was still fresh, and it wasnât a pleasant one. Eileen quickly said, âNo need for that. Go do your work. I can eat on my own.â
Bryan scoffed, sliding a bowl of soup toward her. âYou come back from the hospital every day looking troubled. Why are you so concerned about Daloresâ matters?â
Eileen replied without hesitation, âEver since I met Dalores and Julio, Iâve been entangled with their issues. Itâs like I owe them some karmic debt from a past life.â She paused for a moment before continuing, âSure, Julio helped me climb the social ladder, but I paid the price with sleepless nights and constant anxiety. And now, just when things were starting to look up for me, Dalores is in trouble. I canât help but worry about her.â
âWell, let me cheer you up a bit then,â Bryan said. âMilfordâs sentence got reduced. The police say heâll be out in a month.â Bryan saw Eileenâs eyes light up, a smile spreading across her face.
âReally?â Eileen whipped out her phone and sent a message to Bailee, telling her to get Milfordâs old place ready.
Even though there was still a month to go, and she would return before Milford was released, she couldnât help but want to get everything set up ahead of time.
âHoney, this is all thanks to you. Did you pull some strings?â Eileen put her phone down, stood up, and walked behind Bryan, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her cheek brushed against his, and she inhaled his familiar scent.
gαâηÏνððsâ¤Ã§om has it all Bryan lifted his hand, gently clasping her wrist. âI did something, but Milford also behaved himself in prison. That played a big part in getting him out early.â
Eileen, overflowing with joy, turned and kissed Bryanâs cheek, leaving a faint lip balm stain. âLetâs eat first.â
Although Bryan was reluctant to let this tender moment end, he didnât want the food to get cold and upset Eileenâs stomach. He nodded and, pointing at the food, said, âYou feed me. Letâs eat together and wait for Raymond to bring more food.â
Bryan looked reluctant, but he couldnât hide the small smile tugging at his lips as he pulled the food closer.
He pulled Eileen onto his lap, wrapping an arm around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder. Then, he began feeding her.
After a while, Eileen began to feel Bryanâs erection pressing against her, making her squirm uncomfortably. When she attempted to stand up, he growled softly, âDonât move.â
Eileen swallowed the food in her mouth and whispered, âAre you sure staying still is the best idea?â
Bryanâs eyes darkened. Was she teasing him?
Just then, Eileenâs phone rang, breaking the tension. She seized the moment and quickly stood up to answer it.
