Chapter 1048:
Kamila was left momentarily speechless. After a pause, she hastily retorted, âYouâre overthinking this; it was Eileen who approached me first.â
âWhy did she come to you first?â Keith questioned. âEileen has issues with you. Why would she do that?â
Kamila seethed with rage and couldnât manage to keep her cool. âRegardless of who approached whom first, the fact remains that Eileen is responsible for Jaliyahâs miscarriage!â
âThen you can look for evidence, as long as you can find it.â With that, Keith walked past her and went upstairs.
A sharp retort was poised on the edge of her lips, but the words caught in her throat as she grasped the full weight of Keithâs statement.
As she stood there in a trance-like state, Keithâs figure vanished from view around the corner of the second floor. It wasnât until then that she snapped back to reality, frowning.
Although the anticipated argument didnât happen, Kamilaâs unease lingered, and she couldnât shake the feeling that something was off.
However, the issue regarding Jaliyah remained unresolved. The Diaz family was indeed demanding answers. For Kamila, the fact that Keith hadnât argued with her now was a good thing.
Kamila swiftly punched in a number on her phone. âIs the restaurant ready?â
As soon as Leyla opened her eyes, a servant notified her of Keithâs presence earlier, and she quickly went to Eileen.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Eileen shook her head. âI think heâs onto something, but he hasnât quite put the pieces together yet.â
âIt wonât be long before he starts to investigate this.â Leyla let out a sigh. âBack then, your mother was worried that he might get suspicious, so we delayed announcing your birth for two years and kept you hidden away, claiming your mother was still recovering from childbirth.â
Naturally, the birth date listed on Eileenâs birth certificate had been adjusted to match the publicly announced one. As a result, even if Keith decided to investigate, he would only be able to discover the fabricated birth date.
âMy mother really thought of everything,â Eileen said after a while.
The fact that her mother had delayed the announced birth date meant that Keith had never had any reason to suspect her real identity.
With a frown, Leyla said, âYour mother made me promise before she passed away that we would never reveal your true identity to Keith, regardless of whether we found you or not. So, we canât let Keith discover who you really are until absolutely necessary.â
âSo, even when I was lost, my mother still didnât want to tell him about my identity to let him help find me?â Eileen asked, a frown on her face.
Despite being frantic with worry and nearing death, Dottie still wouldnât disclose her daughterâs real identity to Keith. How deep was her love for Keith?
The more Eileen thought about it, the more she felt something was amiss.
