Chapter 1076:
âI said, let him go,â Eileen repeated, her tone steady despite the situation. Christos was kicked again.
âCome on, Iâve promised him that,â Eileen said. âLet him leave Alverton. Give him a couple of hoursâ head start before letting our people chase after him again.â Bryanâs boot struck Christos yet again.
âIâm not going anywhere, alright?â Christos sputtered, his voice cracked and desperate. âJust stop kicking me, or Iâll die if you keep this up!â
Eileen couldnât bring herself to look directly at Christosâs battered face. She pressed her lips together, meeting Bryanâs gaze for a few seconds.
Finally, Bryan said, âFine. Escort him out of Alverton. After two hours, weâll hunt him down.â
A smile tugged at Eileenâs lips, but before she could speak, Christos said, âAny chance you could arrange for a helicopter to send me home? My carâs out of gas.â Eileen was struck speechless. She turned away, pinching the bridge of her nose resignedly.
Even without Bryanâs intervention, and despite Christosâs plans, she was confident she could have escaped on her own.
After all, Christos wasnât exactly the sharpest tool in the shedâ¦
âMr. Raymondâs urgentâ¦â The words betrayed his reluctance to let Christos slip away. Despite everything else, Christos was persistent.
If he hadnât been, they wouldnât have spent so long chasing him down without success.
Now that they finally had him captured, how could they just let him go?
Bryanâs eyes darkened as he stared at the quivering Christos. After a while, he spat out, âArrange it.â

âHey, Eileen, Bryan,â Christos said weakly. âAny chance of giving me some food?â
âFuck off!â Bryan snarled. He turned on his heel, wrapping a protective arm around Eileenâs slim frame as they walked away.
Bryanâs car lights flashed as they approached. Bryan opened the passenger door for Eileen, revealing a spread of Eileenâs favorite food.
After a momentâs hesitation, Eileen buckled in and began to eat, savoring the flavors she liked.
Bryan started the engine, steering them toward the Vazquez Mansion while occasionally stealing glances at Eileen.
They had been driving for about half an hour when Eileen, now full, spotted a helicopter in the distance.
She rolled down the window, watching as the chopperâs massive blades churned the air, carrying it toward Alvertonâs border.
âArenât you curious why I insisted on letting Christos go?â Eileen asked, turning to Bryan.
She wasnât going to take unnecessary risks, and Christosâs release could pose a threat to them in the future. It was like handling a landmineâit might never detonate, or it could explode at any moment.
Bryan replied calmly, âIf I didnât understand or approve of your plan, I wouldnât have let him go.â
