Chapter 1125:
Bryan pulled out his phone and instructed Raymond to prepare a recreational vehicle. This time, they would really leave.
In just two days, the Aston family had crumbled. Kamila, now acquitted and freed, sold the Aston familyâs assets, changed her sonâs last name to Fairclough, and founded the Fairclough Group using the Aston familyâs wealth.
The day before Eileen and her family left Alverton, Tilda came to see her. Tildaâs eyes, already red and puffy, welled up with fresh tears as soon as she saw Eileen.
âI wanted to save my mother, but in the end, I ended up putting my father in jail,â Tilda said, burying her face in her hands and crying harder. Eileenâs expression twisted into a bitter smile as she said, âAt least you can still save your mother. I canât.â
Hearing this, Tilda stopped crying and said, âIâm sorry⦠Actually, my mother sent me here to apologize to you. She dedicated her life to Harrell and me, wanting to shield us from harm since we lacked our fatherâs love. She went to great lengths to give us the best, maybe too far. But she⦠she did cause you a lot of trouble and harm.â
âYou donât have to apologize. You are also victims in this matter,â Eileen said, gazing out at the floor-to-ceiling window. Her eyes drifted to the serene blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. The aroma of coffee wafted up, and she seemed to be in a contemplative state. Even though she hadnât come to terms with her emotions yet, she was able to control them.
âI heard that youâre leaving for Onaland and that you wonât come back?â Tilda asked as she wiped her tears.
Eileen nodded. âYes, Iâm leaving tomorrow morning and wonât be back, except to visit my motherâs grave and pay my respects from time to time.â

My mother said⦠The Fairclough Group is just starting up and needs resources as well as business partners. If the VQ Group cooperates with the Fairclough Group, she will be able to know the VQ Group better. That way, if anything happens to it, she will know in time and notify you.â The Fairclough Group was still in its fledgling stages and facing numerous challenges. With Harrell lacking business acumen, Kamila was actually doing this to help the company.
However, Eileen believed that after all, it was Kamilaâs way of making it up to the Vazquez family. After all, Kamila had been married to Keith for so many years. She must be blaming herself for not seeing his true colors. Eileen paused, collecting her thoughts before responding, âIâm not the one handling the collaboration. My husband is overseeing it. I have to see how he decides.â
âOkay!â Tilda nodded in agreement and pulled out her phone. âLetâs exchange numbers.â
Her eyes sparkled.
At that moment, Eileen suddenly realized somethingâTilda was her half-sister. Apart from Gabriela and her grandmother, Tilda was the only other person in the world who truly shared a part of her.
Eileen smiled and exchanged contact information with Tilda before leaving the coffee shop.
The next morning, Eileen and her family drove back to Onaland. The journey to Onaland was a lengthy one, spanning over twenty hours of driving time. However, with Leyla accompanying them, they adapted to a leisurely pace, stopping to rest at noon and night, which stretched the trip to five days.
Onaland featured a warmer climate, more mountains, and abundant water, setting it apart from Alverton. Late summer brought scorching temperatures. With the air conditioner on, it was not too hot inside the room, but the heat outside was still evident.
