Chapter 330:
Just as Eileen was unfastening her seatbelt to leave, Bryanâs voice made her settle back into her seat.
âI need to talk to you about something,â Eileen said.
Bryanâs eyebrows arched slightly as his hands clenched the steering wheel tighter, the veins standing out on his hands.
âYou should think about marriage if you find a woman from a good family,â Eileen said bluntly.
As soon as she spoke, the mood in the car dropped.
Bryan turned to face her. âFrom a good family? Who would want a divorced man?â
His words came out sharper than intended.
âBut you have significant skills,â Eileen reminded him, emphasizing his considerable talents that many lacked.
Bryanâs expression became stern, and his eyes darkened. âIs that so? Then whatâs keeping you from wanting me?â
Eileen took a moment before responding. âI simply canât afford to.â
Her position at Ferguson Group was unstable now. She couldnât offer Bryan any advantages, and she might even bring trouble to him.
âThen surely, no one else can afford to, either,â Bryan retorted, his tone thick with anger.
gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cøm brings endless adventures âThat is not true. The woman you were looking at earlier is the sole heir to a rich family. If you married her, it could elevate your status,â Eileen said earnestly, hoping to convince him.
However, no sooner had she finished speaking than Bryan quickly lifted his hand, his fingers weaving into her hair.
He pressed his lips to hers forcefully.
His hand gripped her waist, spreading a warmth throughout her body.
As if the kiss wasnât enough, his arm encircled her waist, hoisting her onto his lap.
Eileenâs attire was casual that day, just sweatpants and a T-shirt, as she hadnât planned on being at work.
Her heart raced as she straddled his sturdy thighs, a position all too familiar to her.
Her hands pressed against his shoulders, their breaths intermingling.
âLet go of me!â Eileen said against his lips, but he silenced her with another kiss.
Bryan was wearing thin black sweatpants, and Eileen could distinctly feel his bodyâs reactions, his breath heavy and uneven.
She had braced for his anger, yet this response was unexpectedâ¦
She feared he might actually have sex with her right here!
Her dissatisfaction leaked out in a soft moan, prompting Bryan to groan and release her.
He reclined against the seat, his eyebrows furrowed, his Adamâs apple visible as he fought to quell the surge of desire within him.
Eileen felt weak from his touch, collapsing against him.
His hands tightened around her waist.
Angered by how easily Bryan had swayed her, Eileen turned and bit his chest through his shirt.
Bryan gasped in pain, tightening his hold on her waist and scolding softly, âStop it!â
âYou deserve it,â Eileen retorted, stopping but still glaring at him, her cheeks red.
Bryanâs Adamâs apple moved as he said hoarsely, âYou get it now? My body responds only to you. Donât bring up other women again.â
Eileen was skeptical, aware that men often let their desires lead.
She believed Bryan might react similarly to another woman in her place.
Their physical attraction was undeniable; despite numerous encounters, they still found each other irresistible.
She couldnât deny she was attracted to him.
âCould you give me a chance?â Bryan asked, his gaze fixed on her neck. Her lips were shiny and inviting, her eyes shimmering.
Everything about her tempted him, bringing out the suppressed longing and desire he had harbored for so long.
He was aware it was too much, yet he couldnât help wanting her deeply.
âThis isnât right,â Eileen replied, hardly moving. Yet, he restrained her once more, compelling her to remain still.
She was eager to leave, puzzled by how he had lifted her so effortlessly in such a cramped car, but he could always do it with ease.
Eileenâs words burned through Bryan.
It was more than her not wanting to; she simply couldnât.
âYouâre really keeping your distance from me,â Bryan said, wearing a bitter smile. âYouâre not short on money or love. What can I offer to make you come back?â
Eileen raised her head slightly, her eyes brimming with tears.
âDo you miss me?â Bryan inquired, his fingers tenderly squeezing her waist. âNot even a little?â
He saw the road ahead as grim, desperately searching for a sliver of hope in her response.
After a pause, Eileen lowered her head. âOnce I secure my position at the Ferguson Group, Iâll share something with you. Whether we are together or not, I owe you that honesty.â
âAnother confession?â Bryan straightened, drawing close to her again. âWhat else have you kept from me?â
âTo be honest, I never wanted to keep secrets from you, but each circumstance was out of my hands,â Eileen said, considering her ultimate goal of cementing her place at Ferguson Group.
That should be the peak of her career. Whether or not she could shield Gabriela, she felt she should no longer conceal things from Bryan.
Bryan quickly grasped her thoughts, realizing she needed to solidify her position before disclosing certain matters.
His eyebrows knitted together. After a brief moment, he slightly raised his chin. âIn the meantime, you canât avoid or reject me.â
As Eileen opened her mouth to respond, Bryan quickly placed his fingertip on her lips to stop her. âI wonât overstep.â
Upon hearing this, Eileen remained still.
âJust give me five more minutes. Then youâre free to leave,â Bryan said.
Eileen nodded. However, the next moment, Bryan pressed his lips to hers, kissing her passionately again.
The longing from endless nights couldnât be satisfied in a single moment.
His kisses, intense yet tender at times, wandered to her collarbone.
Five minutes were far too short for Bryan. He simply moved her to the passenger seat after that.
He even made her wait for ten minutes after she stepped out of the car. Only after that did he calm down. He exited the vehicle and handed her the car keys.
Eileenâs cheeks flushed a deep red, though she maintained her composure as she took the keys and drove off.
In the rearview mirror, she saw him get into a taxi.
While in the car, he had thought only of her.
Now that he had left, she thought only of him.
Unbeknownst to them, a van parked nearby, which had been there for a while, had taken several photographs.
These photos were quickly sent to Zola.
Zola had had people tracking Eileen and Bryan for a long time, yet she hadnât expected to obtain such valuable evidence only now.
The passionate kiss in the car had been captured in high resolution, clearly displaying Bryanâs affection for Eileen.
What Bryan had done was all for Eileen!
Zolaâs eyes were filled with envy.
She had believed she had at least one man who truly loved her, Kian.
She had never imagined that the person who betrayed her the most was Kian!
That excruciating day and night had turned into a shadow that would haunt her for life.
Leland was impotent, dependent on drugs to have sex with her, and when she had shown no interest, he had forced the drugs on her as well.
Yet Leland had been unable to satisfy herâ¦
The torment of unfulfilled desire had lingered long after Leland had left.
Every shred of her dignity and pride had been shattered. When Kian had entered, she had desperately clung to his trousers, pleading.
But his response had been merciless: âI find you filthy.â
âHow could you treat me this way? What am I supposed to do?â Zola had asked. His cold words had cut through her, bringing her to tears.
Kian had scoffed, his eyes filled with both hatred and disgust. âWhat about Vivian? The doctor said she needs medication to remain clear for the rest of her life. She canât marry and canât have children. How is she supposed to live?â
In reality, Vivian was not malicious.
Her petty tricks against Eileen paled in comparison to Zolaâs elaborate plots.
âRemember, I recorded everything that happened today. From now on, whenever I call, you must answer,â Kian had said.
Zola had stared at Kian in horror. âWhat do you want?â
âWhat do you think?â Kian had answered with a malicious smile. âI want you to be forever haunted by today.â
Kian knew that Zola, who was usually resilient, would only be momentarily shaken by todayâs events.
So he had intended to keep reminding her, turning her life into a nightmare.
After that day, Zolaâs back was constantly slick with sweat. She was always wary of Kian reaching out to her.
Luckily, he had not reached out to her yet.
She still needed to continue with what she had to do.
After some time, she sent the photos to various media outlets.
During a relaxed afternoon, Eileen returned, took a nap with Gabriela, and woke up to discover she was in the news.
âThe new General Manager of Ferguson Group caught in a scandal with a man.â
âAn intimate look into the life of Ferguson Groupâs new General Manager.â
The photos captured Eileen in a passionate kiss with Bryan, taken from outside the car. Bryanâs face was intentionally blurred.
Additionally, two high-definition images captured Eileen exiting the car, clearly revealing her identity.
There was also a photo of Bryanâs back, showing him entering a taxi, suggesting he did not own a car. It implied he was probably financially supported by Eileen.
Eileen was single and had recently assumed her role at Ferguson Group. Her bold approach to business had already sparked discussions.
This news didnât shake her much but instead elicited some public empathy.
Eileen pondered over who might have leaked the news. Why was Bryanâs face purposely blurred?
Meanwhile, Judy, idly passing her days in Onaland, leaped up when she saw the news.
She scrutinized the woman in the article, affirming it was Eileen. A surge of thrill ran through her.
She quickly called Roderick, who was out on a delivery job. âRoderick, your sister has returned fromâ¦
What do you mean you donât know? She just chose not to tell you! Nor why are you panicking? Iâm just concerned; I saw her in the news. Whatâs going on with her and Mr. Dawson? Sheâs involved with someone else now, and she has become the General Manager at Ferguson Group!â
Her voice got louder with each word, fueled by the hope swelling in her chest.
General Manager!
Imagine the salary that must come with that position! She was convinced now her investment of five hundred thousand hadnât been in vain!
