Chapter 352:
This topic snuffed out the remaining warmth in Eileenâs heart. After bidding Josue goodbye, she headed upstairs.
Taking Gabriela from Milford, Eileen prepared some formula for bedtime. Watching Gabriela grip the bottle tightly with both hands, her large eyes fixed on her, Eileen felt a surge of affection.
âYour dad doesnât dislike you, sweetheart. He just doesnât know youâre his daughter. Let your godfather help you spend more time with him. Heâs bound to fall in love with you, my dear,â Eileen whispered gently. Although she claimed it didnât bother her, that wasnât entirely true.
Her feelings were mixed, and she couldnât fully blame Bryan either. She hoped for more father-daughter interactions. Even if Bryan didnât warm up to Gabriela initially, perhaps more time together would change his feelings.
âBut this is his only chance. Letâs set a time,â Eileen knew she couldnât wait indefinitely for Bryan to connect with Gabriela. Ten days, at most.
âYouâre so adorable. If he still doesnât appreciate you after ten days, my dear, Iâll make sure he regrets it, and we wonât bother with him anymore.â
Gabriela seemed to sense Eileenâs mood, or perhaps just enjoyed the sound of her voice, as she began kicking her legs so vigorously that her blanket fell off.
Eileen caught her tiny feet, playing with them a bit before they both settled down to sleep.
The next morning, Josue arrived to take Gabriela before Bryan came downstairs to prevent any suspicion.

If not, consider this ten-day delay before revealing her identity his punishment. If he still doesnât warm up to her after that, it wonât matter. In my eyes, youâll be more of a father to her than he will ever be.â
This decision was mostly because of Gabriela.
Hearing this, Josue couldnât hide his delight. He secretly hoped the ten days would pass quickly. If Bryan didnât warm up to Gabriela, he believed he could establish a closer connection with her than Bryan ever could.
âJust make sure to give Bryan every opportunity to bond with her. No tricks,â Eileen cautioned, noticing Josueâs mischievous grin.
Feeling slightly abashed, Josue responded, âDonât worry. Iâm the most honest person youâll meet. I wonât play any games.â
With Gabriela safely delivered to Bryanâs place by Josue, Bryan descended the stairs later, hearing Gabrielaâs cheerful sounds before he reached the living room.
Curious, he quickened his pace and soon sported the little girl on the living room mat.
Gabriela noticed him and made a curious sound, kicking her feet energetically until she tumbled face-first onto the mat.
