Chapter 354:
With Eileen away, Julioâs responsibilities had grown. They often made crucial decisions over the phone, with Eileen offering sharp insights to steer him. Now that she was back, Julio was ready to pass the baton.
âKaysen has thrown the Freguson family into disarray. Itâs the ideal time to act. Iâll leave it to you,â Benjamin added.
Julio faced much skepticism within the Freguson family due to his controversial reputation. Despite being in control now, he still faced significant criticism. He saw this as an opportunity to consolidate his position and extend his influence within the Freguson family during their current vulnerability.
âOkay,â Eileen agreed, despite the daunting stack of paperwork before her.
After a brief pause, she added, âIâve prepared a card for Dalores. Give it to her and tell her to leave Onaland.â
Benjamin slid a black card across the desk toward Eileen.
After a brief hesitation, Eileen picked up the card. âIâll deliver it and relay your message, but I canât promise sheâll agree to leave.â
âTry your best to convince her. Itâs a crucial time for us, and I canât have any distractions,â Julio asserted firmly before he departed.
Eileen held the card in her hand, contemplating for a moment before dialing Dalores to come to work the next day. This was a conversation that needed to happen face-to-face.
She continued working until 9 pm, bombarded with messages throughout the day. Bryanâs messages were overly affectionate, saying things like, âEileen, I miss you.â
However, Josueâs messages were full of complaints:

âHe acts as if she owes him money.â
âHe even said she isnât adorable at all.â
Josueâs texts were laden with dissatisfaction towards Bryan, which both amused and annoyed Eileen.
However, she was curious to see if Bryan truly lacked the ability to find Gabriela adorable.
For several days, Eileen left early and returned late. She would have dinner with Bryan without even heading upstairs before departing again.
Bryan attempted to catch her a few times but was unsuccessful. Their planned visit to see Ruby was postponed due to Eileenâs hectic schedule.
Bryan felt something was amiss, almost as if he were caught in some sort of trap, especially with Josueâs evident schadenfreude.
After a few days, Bryan felt he had been nearly driven to madness.
