Chapter 380:
âStella, I donât appreciate those words,â Lydia snapped. âEven though Travis isnât Brandonâs biological son, heâs been nothing but dedicated. Brandon has raised him as his own, and I have no doubt that Travis will be there for him when he needs him.â
âGet out of my face!â Stellaâs voice shook as she responded to Lydiaâs bold declaration.
After a brief pause, Eileen and Bryan gently helped Stella sit on the bed.
Realizing there was nothing to gain from the situation, Brandon turned and walked away.
Lydia glanced at Eileen with a mocking smile. âStella, despite all the arrangements youâve made for your grandson, you still canât alter his feelings about being with her, can you? The Ferguson family is in disarray, and youâre not worried about involving your grandson in this turmoil?â
âItâs none of your business,â Stella retorted coldly, her lips pale as she gestured to the old butler.
The old butler quickly escorted Lydia out, prepared to intervene further if necessary.
Lydia reluctantly left the room.
The bedroom was cluttered to the point where there was barely any space to stand. Eileen glanced around, poised to start cleaning.
Suddenly, Stella spoke in a cold voice, âYouâre my guest. Donât bother with this mess. We have servants for that.â
Her tone wasnât overtly unfriendly, but her boundaries were clear.
âPlease, donât let them come in again.â Bryan walked over to Eileen and gently took her wrist. He then turned to address the old butler who had just entered, his voice carrying an air of command. âIâm bringing extra staff. Make sure everything is sorted out.â
Unforgettable stories on gⱯlnÏνð®ðsâ¤Ã§oðº Stellaâs eyes were fixed on how Bryanâs hand clasped Eileenâs wrist. Cutting off the old butler before he could respond, she asked, âYou founded the EB Group yourself, didnât you?â
âYes,â Bryan replied, his voice neutral. He had never intended to keep secrets from her about his business dealings. From the moment he started his plans, he had been transparent with her, concealing nothing. Despite this, Stella never took the initiative to discuss any strategies with him beforehand.
Consequently, they each had their own agendas.
He tolerated the trouble from Stella, yet she continually created problems for him.
After a prolonged silence, Stella inhaled deeply and said, âI guess Iâm just old and in the way. Donât worry about accommodating me. Iâll head to the mountains tomorrow and stay there for a while. I wonât meddle in your life.â
Throughout her declaration, she didnât once mention Eileen, nor did she glance in her direction.
Bryan nodded in response. âTake care of yourself. Once EB Group is stable and the timing feels right, Iâll inform you before the wedding with Eileen. Thatâs when you can return from the mountains.â
