Chapter 385:
Josue paused, taken aback, then said, âI worked so hard to build EB Group. How can you just take itâ¦â
Bryanâs gaze cut his words short.
Bryan didnât say he would hand over the shares to him. Realizing his misunderstanding, Josue felt embarrassed and didnât ask further. He quickly agreed, âOkay. But remember the deal about using the profits for investments, and that the earnings are mine.â
âI wonât go back on my promise,â Bryan replied calmly, leaning lazily against the pillar, his eyes catching the light from the street lamps.
Looking up, Josue asked, âBryan, arenât you tired? Itâs late. Canât this wait until tomorrow?â
He was exhausted. In fact, he hadnât been sleeping well lately since he hadnât seen Gabriela. A kiss tonight might help him sleep well for a few nights.
Wide awake, Bryan responded, âI spend every day with my daughter; it keeps me energized.â He returned the blow that Josue had delivered a few days ago.
Josue wanted to turn around and leave, but he didnât dare. Bryan knew exactly how to threaten him.
âBryan, you should actually thank me,â Josue said. âWithout me, would you have held Gabriela the moment she was born? Without me, would you have been able to name her?â
âNamed her?â Bryan scoffed. It didnât ring a bell to him.
âAthena!â Josue exclaimed, looking at Bryanâs face. âDidnât you know? Gabriela Curtis is just a nicknameâher real name is Athena Curtis.â

He had forgotten that Josue had consulted him when naming his goddaughter. Josue had suggested the name Athena, but Bryan never expected they would actually use the name he had chosen.
âHasnât Eileen told you? I offered her many options, but she ignored them all. Instead, she chose your Athenaâ¦â Josue trailed off.
Before he could continue, Bryan rushed into the villa and slammed the bedroom door behind him.
Inside, Eileen was deep in sleep until Bryanâs kiss woke her. Instinctively, she placed her hand on his chest. She barely opened her eyes and noticed the excitement in his gaze.
She felt both helpless and speechless. Was he thrilled in the middle of the night that Gabriela was indeed his daughter?
