Chapter 507:
Eileen figured that Denise must have shown up when Roderick wasnât present. If Roderick had been there, he wouldnât have allowed Denise to come.
âThatâs fine as well. Take your time. If needed, send her more money monthly. Itâs your decision whether I should move out, but she definitely shouldnât move in. It will make your life too messy.â Ruby always looked out for Eileenâs future.
A warm feeling spread through Eileenâs heart as she looked at Ruby and smiled. âWhat were you intending to purchase? I can drop you off at your destination.â
Ruby had completely forgotten about her shopping plans due to the disturbance caused by Denise. âForget it; just take me to the educational center. Iâll visit Bailee and return in the evening.â
Ruby was worried that Denise might still be around and could cause problems if she returned early.
Eileen drove Ruby to the educational center and dropped her off, letting Ruby go in by herself. She had received multiple notifications about a high-level meeting and realized she was already behind schedule.
The receptionist immediately recognized Ruby as she walked in. âRuby, whatâs the reason for your visit today?â
âIâm here to see Bailee. Is she busy now?â Ruby inquired with a friendly smile.
The receptionist glanced at her watch. âMs. Brooks hasnât come in yet. She has been out of sorts lately and typically arrives around ten. Would you like me to give her a call?â
This news made Ruby frown. Bailee was consistently hardworking, and Ruby had seen her dedication to the educational center over the past two years. What could be causing Baileeâs recent lateness?
âIâll wait in her office. You can continue with your tasks.â Ruby proceeded to Baileeâs office to wait.
gαâηÏνððsâ¤com, home to unforgettable stories At about ten oâclock, Bailee showed up. âMom, why didnât you inform me you were coming?â
Ruby motioned for her to sit down. âIt was a last-minute decision. Your sister gave me a ride. Whatâs been happening with you recently? The receptionist saidââ
âItâs nothing.â Bailee managed a strained smile. âIâm just having trouble sleeping alone, so Iâve been staying up late and sleeping in.â
Bailee placed her bag down and chose not to sit next to Ruby. Instead, she went to open the window for some fresh air.
Ruby thought for a moment before changing the subject. âI believe itâs time to settle things with Huey. Iâll have a conversation with Winona. In the future, Iâll move to your complex and help you after you have children.â
Ruby had come to a well-thought-out conclusion: she couldnât continue staying at Eileenâs place. Denise would take advantage of her being there. Since Gabriela no longer needed her care, Ruby felt it was time to move on and not interfere with Eileen and Bryanâs married life.
âWhatâs the reason for this sudden move from my sisterâs house?â Bailee asked, sitting down beside Ruby. âWhatâs going on?â
Ruby shared her experience with Denise that morning. âYour sister no longer needs my presence, and I donât want to give Denise any leverage.â
