Chapter 512:
âThatâs easy for you to say,â Josue said sharply, tapping the table with his fingers, creating a soft thud that resonated through the café. Some people glanced their way, and Josue offered a sheepish smile before continuing, âShe wonât even let me see the child. She claims she has no right, but shouldnât she at least tell me if itâs a boy or a girl? She could show me a photo of the child. Is that too much to ask?â
The more Josue spoke, the angrier he became. âI have every right to hold this grudge.â
âYou wait here for Jacob. Iâm taking Gabriela to the Freguson Group to bring lunch to Eileen.â Bryan grabbed the car keys and left swiftly, carrying Gabriela.
Josue muttered âheartlessâ several times under his breath before dialing Jacob. âItâs almost noon. Finish up your shopping and come over here to have lunch with me. Iâm starving.â
âWhat?â Jacob sounded confused for a moment before replying, âIâm at home. Didnât I tell you I need to get back quickly to spend time with my wife after shopping? If youâre hungry, why donât you eat something yourself? Why are you calling meâ¦â
Meanwhile, Bryan stopped at a restaurant Eileen liked and picked up her favorite dishes. After a bit of driving, he reached the Freguson Group around one oâclock. He had informed Eileen of his arrival, and she, along with Raymond, was waiting for him outside.
Bryan parked directly in front of the company, making a notable entrance, and then, under the watchful eyes of onlookers, lifted Gabriela out of her car seat in the back. Gabriela, just awakening, had slightly red eyes and furrowed brows, but upon seeing Eileen, she immediately began waving her tiny arms joyously.
Eileen quickly took Gabriela into her arms, smiling at her. Bryan passed the food to Raymond, his attention still focused on Eileen and Gabriela.
Raymond joked, âMr. Dawson, if you had come any later, Ms. Curtis would have been waiting for dinner.â
Although Eileen had already eaten, Bryan insisted on delivering lunch. Was this really about bringing lunch, or was he simply here to show off his daughter?
âMs. Curtis, Gabrielaâs absolutely beautiful, just like you,â Raymond said.

âLetâs go inside.â Bryan stood against the wind, shielding Eileen and Gabriela, casually smoothing Eileenâs tousled hair. He extended his arm around Eileenâs slim waist, intending to escort her into the building, but Eileen didnât move.
âTake Gabriela back. Itâs work hours, and everyone is busy. It doesnât look right bringing a child here.â Eileen glanced around at the curious onlookers inside the office, leaning in to whisper to Bryan, âThereâs a limit to how much you can show off your daughter.â
Bryanâs eyes widened, surprised. âDo you think I came here just to show off Gabriela?â
Was that not obvious?
