Chapter 543:
Only Josue and Jacob were privy to the fact that he had been injected with the drug.
Bryan had no plans to share that information with others. As he reached his car, he instructed, âEnsure Mr. Wright thoroughly details Coenâs departure plans. And book me a flight ticket to Linder Land for the day before Coen leaves.â
He then swung open the car door, buckled his seatbelt, and drove off.
Raymond, left standing there, was perplexed. Was Bryan heading to Linder Land to intercept Coen?
But without support from Dewittâs people, venturing there alone seemed futile.
Questions swirled in Raymondâs mind, yet he was unable to grasp Bryanâs true motives and had no choice but to follow the order.
The night stretched long, and the chill of late autumn was piercing.
Eileen felt the cold biting at her limbs, despite holding Gabriela close for warmth.
Any slight movement to leave Gabriela would startle her awake, so Eileen could only hold Gabriela tightly.
Bryan lay beside Eileen, allowing her to rest against his chest.
His heartbeat resonated strong and clear in Eileenâs ear, providing a comforting, rhythmic backdrop.
As the night deepened, Gabriela eventually settled into a deeper sleep, but Eileen only found rest intermittently.
It wasnât until Bryan pulled her closer into his arms that she finally felt secure.
Enclosed in his embrace, she drifted off to sleep.

She quickly scooped Gabriela into her arms, soothing her with gentle words. âGood girl, Mommyâs here; donât be scared.â
At that moment, Bryan tried to sit up but felt one of his arms weak and numb. He collapsed back onto the bed with a muffled thud, the sound obscured by Gabrielaâs continuing cries.
Eileen, oblivious to Bryanâs situation, continued soothing Gabriela.
Bryan glanced at his numb arm and frowned.
His fingers lacked any feeling, and despite his efforts, his arm lay immobile on the bed.
âWhatâs wrong?â Eileen, having calmed Gabriela slightly, turned her attention to Bryan.
Bryan met her gaze. After a pause, he let out a light chuckle. âIâve been holding you all night, and now my armâs completely numb.â
âIâll give it a rub after I settle Gabriela down,â Eileen said, fetching Gabrielaâs beloved toy. Gabriela, her tears drying, took the toy with mild interest but stopped crying.
Eileen gently placed Gabriela in Bryanâs embrace and sat beside him, her cool fingertips beginning to massage the feeling back into Bryanâs numb arm.
