Chapter 567:
âWhat are you doing here?â Eileen asked.
âMs. Curtis, I had to come. What are you planning? This is a multi-billion-dollar investment. How can you make such a decision so casually? Thereâs no assessment done, and the board of directors wonât back it. If it fails, you could lose everything!â Raymond exclaimed.
âPlease, come inside first,â Eileen said calmly.
While Raymond was visibly anxious, Eileen remained composed.
She even poured a glass of water for him, saying, âHere, have some water. Try to calm down.â
Raymond replied, âHow can I stay calm nowâ¦â
âNo matter how worried you are, it wonât change anything. I am not going to alter my plan to build the resort,â Eileen said firmly. âIâve found Bryan, but he has forgotten me and refuses to come home with me. So, I need to stay here with him.â
Raymond fell silent.
He remembered what Bryan had done for Eileen.
Now, Eileen was equally consumed by her feelings for Bryan, driving her to take such a drastic step.
âEven if I lose all my money, itâs worth it if he can return to my side,â Eileen declared with unwavering determination.
Seeing Eileenâs resolve, Raymond felt a deep sadness and was left speechless. He then set to work without further delay.
In just three days, the announcement of the fishing villageâs impending acquisition sparked widespread outrage.
Upon Eileen and Raymondâs arrival at the fishing village, they were immediately surrounded by the locals.
âAre you planning to tear down our homes?â
âYou canât do that!â
âHow dare you destroy our homes?â
The crowd continued to shout at Eileen and her team.
Confronted by the furious crowd, Eileen frowned and attempted to speak, but Zelda pointed at her and yelledâ¦
âItâs her! Sheâs the one ruining our homes!â
The crowd grew even more enraged, moving toward Eileen.
Raymond quickly pulled Eileen behind him, positioning himself to protect her, and signaled to the others to remain alert.
Amid the chaos, a sudden cry of pain stopped everyone in their tracks. There was a brief moment of stillness before the crowd parted, revealing Zelda, disheveled and lying on the ground.
âEnough!â
Before anyone could react, Bryan began to approach, moving slowly and deliberately. His movements were painstakingly slow, each step calculated.
But neither Raymondâs people nor the villagers dared to make a move. Those who met Bryanâs gaze quickly lowered their heads, too intimidated to look him in the eye.
