Chapter 599:
By eleven, he quickly prepared a meal for the three of them. After they ate, they headed to the airport.
The road was rough, and Gabriela eagerly looked out the window, thrilled by every bump and jolt.
Meanwhile, Eileenâs unease grew, a persistent distraction clouding her thoughts.
She felt carsick for the first time, her head spinning. Despite this, she held on until they reached the airport.
With help from someone with their luggage, Benjamin held Gabriela. Concerned for Eileen, he suggested, âYouâve got almost an hour before boarding. Why donât you rest in the VIP lounge?â
âSure,â Eileen said, rubbing her temples.
As they entered the VIP lounge, Eileen spotted the three men seated together.
Josue and Jacob sat comfortably, smiling warmly at her.
Bryan, sitting between them, had swapped his rural attire for a custom tracksuit.
Jacob quickly stood, motioning for Eileen to join them. âCome over here.â
âNo, Iâm okay,â Eileen replied, her unease dissipating instantly. She settled into the chair opposite them, leaning back as she tried to shake off the discomfort from the bumpy ride.
Seeing this, Jacob walked over to Benjamin. âLet me take Gabriela.â
âMr. Meyer, I think I can hold her,â Benjamin replied.
IâÅ£â¬Åâ ¢нåÏÑεÑŠ¡η gâlиÏνεâÅ¡.cøm âHer father is right here. Why are you holding her? They havenât seen each other in ages. Let them spend some time together and get closer,â Jacob said, reaching out to take Gabriela from Benjaminâs arms.
Eileen suddenly said coldly, âIsnât her father on his deathbed? Whatâs the point of him getting closer to Gabriela when heâll be gone soon? Itâs better for him to keep his distance.â
âFineâ¦â Jacob withdrew his hand, sitting back beside Bryan.
Seeing Eileen close her eyes to rest, Jacob leaned toward Bryan and whispered, âNo wonder youâre afraid sheâll resent you. Sheâs really taking this seriously.â
Bryan glanced away, choosing to remain silent.
Soon, it was time to board.
After a restless night, Eileen managed to secure a blanket from a passing flight attendant and tried to sleep on the plane, cradling Gabriela close.
Her head bobbed with each attempt to find a comfortable position.
Only when someone gently supported her head, letting her rest on their shoulder, did she finally feel at ease, sinking into a deep, uninterrupted sleep.
By the time the plane arrived in Onaland, it was already past nine in the evening.
Eileen stirred awake to the flight attendantâs reminder, realizing Bryan had taken Benjaminâs place beside her.
Josue and Jacob were keeping Gabriela entertained.
Eileen briefly glanced at Bryan but remained silent.
When it was time to disembark, she gently took Gabriela into her arms and left with Benjamin.
âMr. Ferguson arranged for a car to pick us up. Thereâs an early meeting tomorrow about the village project. It might be a long one, so you better go home and get some rest,â Benjamin informed her.
Eileen nodded in understanding, but before she could reply, Josue caught up with her.
