Chapter 613:
âThatâs impossible!â Eileen exclaimed without thinking.
âMs. Curtis, please remain calm. The investigation is still ongoing. If Milford is telling the truth, his crime will be much less severe if Miss Murray can testify for him and if Adalina goes to the hospital to prove she was not raped,â the officer said.
Although Milford and Adalina were around the same age, the problem was that one was underage while the other was an adult. The difference was only a few months, but if Milford really had done something to Adalina, his entire life would be ruined, and he would be held legally accountable.
âYou are the one who deserves to die! Do you understand that?â Eileen was close to Zola now, and it was difficult for her to suppress her anger. With tears in her eyes, she exclaimed, âHelp Milford, and then Iâll find a way to help you. Speak up for him!â
Milford had already been through so much and had finally found the right path, learning gratitude and determination. This incident would ruin him completely.
When Zola saw Eileen becoming frantic over Milford, she found the situation absurd.
She sneered, âMilford is my brother. He should join me in prison. I wonât leave. Since Iâve lost everything and my life is a wreck, I might as well drag everyone down with me!â
Seeing Eileen overcome with emotion, the police quickly intervened. After separating Zola and Eileen, the officer handling Milfordâs case approached Zola to gather more evidence.
Without missing a beat, Zola said, âMilford is trouble. He quit school in Wist Land long ago and fell in with bad company. He begged me to bring that girl to the hotel, and I complied.â
âYouâre lying!â Eileen shouted, struggling in Bryanâs embrace but unable to break free. She was so angry, she felt as if she could tear the room apart.
When Zola was taken out in handcuffs, she saw the police in charge of Milfordâs case and guessed they were there for him.
Just as she was about to make a snide remark, she suddenly noticed the tall figure beside Eileen.

Eileen and the others turned to look at Zola, but Bryanâs cold gaze made her feel especially uneasy.
âZola, what have you done?â Eileen hurried over and seized Zolaâs hand. âMilford is your brother!â
She paused, realizing the extent of Zolaâs cruelty. If Zola could harm her own parents, what would stop her from doing the same to her brother?
Eileen shoved Zola forcefully, causing her to crash awkwardly against the wall. Yet Zolaâs gaze never left Bryan.
The pain in Zolaâs back snapped her back to reality. Shaking her head, she murmured, âHow are you still alive? How can I die while you are still alive? How can I let you see me like this? This is not fair!â
Eileen grabbed Zola by the collar and slapped her sharply across the face.
