Chapter 630:
âEileen pulls in hundreds of millions every year, while you, as her sister, only make a couple hundred thousand. People will gossip if they know this,â Huey continued, rubbing his temples. He could already hear the whispers and judgments.
Baileeâs stomach twisted at the thought. She knew that if people ever dug into Eileenâs life and discovered her much lower earnings, the rumor mill would go into overdrive. They would portray Eileen as the cold, heartless stepsister who didnât care about her family.
Thinking of this, Bailee realized she couldnât delay the matter any longer.
âItâs pretty awkward to talk about this, but letâs settle it today and never bring it up again. It could really strain our relationship,â Eileen said. âIâll go with you on Monday to prepare the legal paperwork.â
Bailee had no choice but to agree. She nodded.
The next two hours were spent discussing Winonaâs situation, but Ruby still hadnât returned.
Eileen decided to let Bailee take care of Gabriela for the time being. âIâm going to find Ruby,â she said.
Her biggest concern was the persistent gossip circulating in the community. She feared Ruby might end up in a confrontation with someone.
Eileen stepped out of the villa and began her search. She wandered the neighborhood streets but couldnât spot Ruby anywhere. Finally, as she approached the corner near the supermarket, she saw Ruby holding several bags, engaged in a heated argument with Denise.
âListen here,â Denise said, gripping Rubyâs wrist. âI just want to see Eileen. Take me to her. I have every right to talk to her!â
Ruby, struggling to balance the bags, glared at Denise. âIf you want to see Eileen, figure it out yourself. I wonât take you to her!â
Denise shouted angrily, âHow could you be so shameless? You and your daughter are always leeching off my daughter. Canât you stand on your own for once?â
Your imagination thrives at puntocom âLet go of her!â Eileenâs voice rang out as she rushed over, taking the bags from Rubyâs hands.
The intensity in Eileenâs voice made Denise release Ruby immediately. Eileen grabbed Rubyâs hand and started leading her back home.
But Denise wasnât ready to give up. She caught up with them, desperation in her eyes. âWait, Eileen. I need to talk to you. Just give me a chance.â
âFive minutes,â Eileen replied coldly, not even looking at Denise.
âIâm tired of this,â Denise continued, her tone demanding. âBuy me a villa, and I promise Iâll never bother you again. Iâll pretend to be a stranger if we ever meet.â
Noticing that Denise was going to great lengths to stop her, Eileen realized that Denise wouldnât relent until the issue was settled.
âI donât plan to sever all ties with you,â Eileen said. âRoderick is in the middle of this, and I donât want to make things harder for him.â
âDonât pretend you care about Roderick that much!â Denise rolled her eyes. âYouâre worth billions, and Roderick can barely afford a house in Onaland! Do you even deserve to be his sister?â
âThatâs not for you to decide!â Eileen retorted.
For a moment, Denise was speechless. Spotting someone nearby, she began to make a scene. âAlright, if you refuse to meet my demands today, Iâll let everyone know how badly youâre treating me! Look, everyone! This is my daughter, who earns hundreds of millions every month but only gives her mother two thousand dollars a month!â
