Chapter 646:
âThis is the wedding gift I prepared for Eileen. Although the actual amount may not matter to them, I intended it to serve as a positive sign. The sum of eleven million signifies that Eileen is the unique choice for Bryan.â
Ruby, seated next to Stella, was simply being accommodating, frequently seeking Eileenâs input.
âMoreover, thereâs something I havenât disclosed.â Stella extracted a document from the black box. âThis document is the divorce agreement Eileen signed upon her departure from Onaland, but I replaced it with a marital contract. It stipulates that, should they ever divorce, Eileen will be entitled to half of the Dawson familyâs assets.â
This was a deliberate part of Stellaâs strategy. Back then, even though the shares had been registered under Brandonâs name, the majority of the Dawson familyâs assets had been shifted to Bryanâs ownership by Stella. Stella had hoped that, if Bryan ever failed, Eileen would still possess some assets of her own.
Regardless of whether the assets were Eileenâs or Bryanâs, it was certain that they would not end up entirely in Brandonâs hands.
Eileen suddenly glanced up, remembering the moment she signed the document, and realized that she and Bryan were still legally married. So, there was no need for them to talk about remarriage.
âWhat exactly did I sign then?â Bryan suddenly rose to his feet, a whirlwind of emotions swirling within him. He approached Stella and retrieved both agreements.
The documents were nearly identical, except for one added clause: if he were to acquire the Dawson Groupâs shares and divorce due to irreconcilable differences, half of those shares would be awarded to Eileen as recompense.
Stella had meticulously selected Eileen and wanted to treat her well. The earlier incident was a deep-seated regret, a mistake that could not overshadow all the benevolence she had extended toward Eileen.
Eileen felt a surge of warmth in her heart as she smiled, rose from her seat, and walked over to Stella. âRegardless of everything, I am deeply grateful for all youâve done for me, especially for this agreement.â
Step into a new world at gαâηÏνðâsâ¤cøm She looked over at Bryan, who was holding the documents, his gaze contemplative. She knew what he was thinking.
Noticing the familiar marriage certificate and a photo in the box, she retrieved them and looked at them thoughtfully.
The photo captured her with a youthful face, her eyes expressing uncertainty and confusion. The man beside her had striking features. Although his appearance wasnât as commanding as it was now, he was still intimidating compared to how she used to be.
âIâll hold onto these from now on,â Eileen said, putting the marriage certificate and photo into her bag.
If Bryan wasnât interested in remarrying, she wouldnât press the issue. Her insistence would only add to his burdens. But now, it turned out they were still married.
A sense of relief and a touch of sweetness filled Eileenâs heart. She chose to ignore Bryanâs reaction and returned to her seat.
