Chapter 648:
Midway through dinner, Eileen excused herself to use the restroom. When she walked out of the bathroom, she noticed Bryan leaning against the wall. His brow only relaxed a bit when he heard her approaching.
âAre you waiting for me?â Eileen glanced at him through the mirror while she washed her hands. âAre you trying to get me to divorce you?â
Bryan approached her, his hands finding the edge of the sink, his forehead gently resting against hers. âWould you even consider it?â
âNot only would I not consider it, Iâd be furious,â Eileen replied firmly.
âThen how could I even bring it up?â Bryan buried his face in her neck, inhaling deeply. âIâm scared that youâll be sad, but Iâm more worried that youâll be angry.â
If he couldnât prevent her sadness, he would at least try to steer clear of angering her.
âAre you really that scared of me? Why werenât you scared back when you disappeared into that tiny village?â Eileen teased.
Realizing his fault, Bryan kissed her softly. âLetâs agree not to dredge up the past during our arguments.â
âFine,â Eileen dried her hands and gently pushed him away, creating some space between them. âJust donât make me angry before the wedding. If you do, youâre gone. I might just sell your ashes and bury them with someone elseâs. Remember, I am your lawful wife, and I can do whatever I want with your ashes.â
After all, if she no longer wanted her husband, she had the right to do as she pleased. Who would stop her?
Bryan was left speechless, his gaze flickering.
After their meal, they escorted Stella to her home first.
gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cóm is your escape âBailee, you take Ruby and Gabriela home. Bryan and I will drop Roderick off,â Eileen said. It was getting late, and if they delayed, Gabrielaâs bedtime would be pushed back too far.
Bailee nodded in agreement, efficiently ushering Ruby and Gabriela into her car.
Meanwhile, Roderick suggested taking a taxi, but Bryan insisted on giving him a ride. Roderick reluctantly agreed, waiting until Eileen had everything organized before he climbed into the car.
As they drove, Roderick received a call from Judie, inquiring about his whereabouts. He offered her an excuse, trying to placate her curiosity. But upon reaching Roderickâs neighborhood, they encountered Judie, who was out for an evening stroll.
âEileen?â Judie called out, her expression shifting into a frown as she first spotted only Eileen. When she saw Roderick emerging from the car, her frown deepened. âWhere have you been? Iâve been worried all day, thinking you might be up to no good.â
Roderick circled to the back of the car, pulling Judie aside to whisper to her. âIâll fill you in once weâre home.â
He then looked up, offered Eileen a warm smile, and said, âWeâre safe.â
Judie was clearly upset. âWhat is happening here? What are you two up to? Roderick has been away all day! Has he done something disgraceful behind my back? Eileen, are you hiding something for him? Iâm pregnant with his child now! You canât do anything that will affect me!â
