Chapter 672:
Judie was momentarily speechless. After a moment, she snapped, âWhose side are you on? You assured me youâd buy me a villa before the baby was born.â
âIf you want it so badly, ask Eileen for it yourself,â Denise replied. Despite her fear of Judie, she was intimidated by Eileen.
Denise knew that if Eileen decided to confirm the paternity and it was revealed she wasnât her biological daughter, she might have to return all the money Eileen had given her over the years.
Having exhausted all her money and with Judie unwilling to assist, she faced the possibility of being imprisoned.
Thinking of this, Denise turned and headed toward the road.
Judie, frustrated, ignored Denise and called an Uber, leaving.
Denise, lacking both funds and familiarity with the Uber app, wandered around for some time before realizing that Judie had already left.
She chased after the car for a while but couldnât catch up. Frustrated and angry, she had no choice but to call Roderick.
After receiving the call, Roderick learned that Denise and Judie had gone to confront Eileen.
Without delay, Roderick closed the restaurant and drove a van to pick up Denise. When they returned home, Judie was lying on the bed, holding the card Eileen had given her.
âDid you actually get the card back?â Roderick asked, immediately recognizing it.
gαâηÏνððsâ¤cð¸ð brings imagination alive Judie placed the card under the pillow, sat up, and responded, âYes, I got it back. This is our shared asset. You didnât even consult me before giving it to Eileen.â
Roderick patiently explained, âIâve mentioned before how much Eileen has helped us. If we donât repay her at her wedding, when do you think weâll ever have the chance to repay her? I can still earn money in the future for our family!â
Judie dismissed his explanation. âWhen has she ever helped you? Did she buy you a house, a car, or provide money for your wedding? You also owe me for risking my life to give you a child!â
She thrust her belly out, causing Roderick to retreat and bump into the quiet Denise behind him.
Roderick and Denise nearly fell over.
Judie, noticing Denise hiding behind, became even angrier. âIf Denise, didnât you promise to get Eileen to buy a villa? Itâs no surprise that Eileen refused you, considering you just stood there silently, doing nothing!â
âEnough!â Roderick darkened as he heard Judieâs words. âYou asked Eileen for a villa? How many times have I told you not to bother her?â
Judie retorted, âWhat do you mean by âbotherâ? Your mother is Eileenâs biological mother. Why is it so wrong for her to help us?â
