Chapter 766:
âAre you really sure about that?â
The moment Bryan came closer, Gabriela darted toward him, clinging to his thighs as she scrambled onto the sofa. With a tilted head and a radiant smile, she looked up at him.
âDaddy, smile!â she exclaimed, her face stretching into a broad grin.
Gabriela had clearly noticed Bryan was angry and feared he might direct his frustration at Eileen. So, she quickly intervened, hoping to lift Bryanâs spirits.
Gabrielaâs gesture caused Eileen to chuckle and nestle closer into Bryanâs embrace.
Following a day filled with joy, Eileen accompanied Bryan to the company the next morning. They headed directly to the top floor and walked into Bryanâs office.
As Bryan became engrossed in his meeting, Eileen entertained Gabriela in the office.
Moments later, as Bryan stepped out, Conroy entered the office, shut the door behind him, and walked over to Eileen. âEileen, itâs been more than a week since youâve been here. Itâs time you visit your grandmother; sheâs been missing you terribly,â he said.
âAlright, Iâll go see Grandma this weekend,â Eileen replied. She had been away from the mansion for almost a week and had only managed late-night video calls with Leyla. Because of Traceyâs constant watch, Leyla kept her phone hidden, but she always found opportunities to send Eileen messages to reassure her of her safety.
So, despite Conroyâs attempts to use Leylaâs condition as a reason to ask Eileen to return, Eileen remained unmoved. âIâve told you this before, but maybe it didnât sink in. The money you make holds no value to the Vazquez family. You should focus on spending more time with your grandmother. Frankly, she might not have much time left.â Conroy became more direct.
1@ŧâ¬Åâ ¢ÑâþŧêÑ$ Ãи galð·ovels.ð¬om Eileen pretended to understand his intentions. âThat canât be true. Auntie said Grandmaâs health improved significantly after I returned. She even encouraged me to stay in the city a few more days before heading back to Onaland.â
Conroy was left speechless. It was clear that everyone wanted Eileen gone. Why couldnât she see it?
âBesides, if Grandmaâs health is failing, shouldnât you be the one to stay by her side, show your respect, and be with her in her final days?â Eileen asked with genuine concern. âMy mother has been gone for years, and itâs a lasting regret that she never found me. Now that she has, itâs only fair that you, my motherâs husband, take care of Grandma. And letâs not forget, Kinsey is Grandmaâs only other grandchild. He should return to spend more time with her too.â
âWe should all resign and go back home,â Conroy stared at Eileen, unsure of what to say.
âWhy the hesitation?â Eileen asked, pulling out a bank card from her bag. âI have around a hundred thousand dollars saved up. Can you and Kinsey together earn twenty thousand per month? Thatâs two hundred thousand a year. I can easily provide that amount as your salary. Weâre not short on money for now. What do you think?â
Conroy blinked a couple of times before he fully understood what Eileen meant.
âTwo hundred thousand dollars?â
Considering his vast abilities, this sum seemed insignificant.
How could she even bring that up?
