Chapter 914:
âIs she Dottieâs daughter? I was abroad when I heard she had returned. I just came back recently, so I decided to pay you a visit. Itâs coming a bit late, but congratulations, Mrs. Vazquez.â
Leyla gently patted Eileenâs hand and said, âDottie must be content in heaven, knowing that her daughter is back home. You can focus on your own life; thereâs no need to visit me so frequently.â
She led Keith to a chair and started chatting with him as soon as they both sat down. From their conversation, Eileen gathered that Keith was a father of two, a son and a daughter, and that his wife was of aristocratic descent. Both of his children had already tied the knot.
âItâs common for young couples to delay or forgo having children nowadays. My kids have been married for several years, but theyâre still not willing to have kids, which makes my wife upset.â At the mention of his children, Keith looked resigned and a little upset.
Leyla chuckled and said, âMost young people are like that. But my Eileen is an exception, getting married and having a child at a relatively young age.â
The two of them continued talking about everyday matters.
Eileen didnât get a chance to join the conversation. She just listened, feeling flustered when Leyla suddenly mentioned her name out of the blue.
âShe really looks like Dottie. I heard about what happened in the Vazquez family recently. Have you made arrangements for Dottieâs body to be moved?â Keith asked.
âIâve already made the arrangements and set a date. Thank you for your concern,â Leyla replied.
Keith smiled. âIâm glad youâve taken care of the matter. I donât want to overstep, but if you require any assistance down the line, donât hesitate to reach out.â

After a brief conversation, Keith rose to his feet and bid them farewell.
The moment Keith departed, Leyla let out a sigh and said, âSince your motherâs passing, he has been visiting the Vazquez family more often. As an outsider, he was able to see Conroyâs true aspirations very clearly. He has approached me discreetly several times, offering to assist me, but Iâve declined. Your mother didnât want to tear his family apart. How could I possibly allow him to get entangled in our familyâs affairs?â
If Keith were to get involved in the Vazquez familyâs property dispute, it would inevitably cause discontent with the Aston family. Keithâs wife would also be displeased. It was highly probable that she was already unhappy and resented the fact that Keith came to visit Leyla every year.
âI have a good impression of him. My mother didnât misjudge him.â In Eileenâs opinion, it was worth it that Dottie had known Keith and given birth to a child with him.
Leyla smiled gently. âItâs worth it. I wish I could die sooner and tell your mother what Keith has done since she passed away, as well as the joyous news of your return.â
Eileen was momentarily stunned. She quickly said, âDonât you want to witness my future happiness? You can share even more stories with my mother after youâre gone. For instance, will I have another child? If so, will it be a boy or a girl? And if I donât have a son, will Bryan be disappointed in me? My mother would surely want to know the answers to these questions, and you wonât be able to share them with her if you die early.â
âWow!â Leylaâs eyes widened in astonishment.
