Chapter 932:
Eileen couldnât understand why Julio wouldnât let Dolores go. She worried that letting Dolores have his child wasnât his true motive.
âDo you think I made the right decision?â Dolores asked.
Eileen replied, âIf youâre happy, then youâve made the right decision. In the meantime, I hope youâll plan for the future.â
Doloresâ eyes were vacant. Eileen could tell she was solely focused on having a child to save Emerson, with no other plans for the future in mind.
Moreover, if the child couldnât save Emerson, Dolores would likely fall apart.
But at this point, who could convince her not to try and save Emerson?
Eileen had no choice but to let Dolores consider her plan carefully. She stood up and headed to the ward. Emerson waved excitedly when he saw Dolores and reached out for her.
The scene was too much for Eileen, so she left after a brief stay. Before she even reached the main road, her phone rang.
The man on the phone said he was from a karaoke bar. Early that morning, a man named Mr. Ferguson had gone there to drink. He had drunk too much and still hadnât woken up. They had called Benjamin, who had given them Eileenâs number.
Benjamin was the only person who knew Eileen was in Alverton and could help Julio.
Eileen had to go to the karaoke bar now. The place was empty during the day. She parked her car, and a waiter took her straight to a private room.
Julio was alone in the large private room. The table was full of half-empty bottles. It looked like Julio had had a wild night, trying all sorts of drinks.
Get the latest gαâηÏνðâsâ¤com Julio was sprawled out on the sofa, and for a moment, Eileen thought he might be dead. She checked his breathing and was relieved to find he was still alive.
âMiss, weâre supposed to be closed during the day. The receptionist stayed late to wait for someone to pick him up. Maybe you shouldâ¦â the waiter said awkwardly.
âCould you book a room at the hotel next door and have someone take him there?â Eileen asked. She couldnât move Julio on her own.
The waiter quickly agreed. He ran to the hotel to get a room and then called over a few other waiters to help carry Julio there. As they carried him, Julioâs head bumped against the door frame. They dropped him onto the bed, and he started to stir.
Once the waiters were gone, Eileen splashed cold water on Julioâs face.
Julio woke up fully. He glared at Eileen with bloodshot eyes. âDolores, are you out of your mind?â
âWatch your mouth, and Iâm not Dolores,â Eileen snapped, cutting him off.
Julio stared blankly for a moment, then squinted at Eileen before collapsing back onto the bed. He squeezed his eyes shut, feeling the pounding in his head.
After what felt like an eternity, he propped himself up on his elbows. âWhy am I here? And why are you here?â
âThe people at the karaoke bar called me,â Eileen replied, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall, fixing him with a stare.
âYou alive enough to function? Because Iâd like to leave now.â Julio managed a weak wave of his hand. âYeah. Go ahead. And thanks.â
