Chapter 938:
Eileen, leaning against the car, couldnât help but smile at Bryanâs demeanor. Her long black hair cascaded down her back in waves. As she turned to glance at the construction site, her hair obscured her view, prompting her to brush it aside with her hand. Turning back, she noticed Bryan returning with a small note. He placed the note in her hand and wrapped his arm around her slim waist.
With his arm still around her, he turned to wave goodbye to the doorman. Then he turned and whispered, âLetâs go. Donât cause him any more trouble.â
Eileen laughed softly and slid into the car. As she did, a part of her slender waist was briefly visible. Bryan quickly averted his gaze, shut the door, walked around the front of the car, and took his place in the driverâs seat. He glanced at her long neck and said, âCall the number and invite him out.â
âGot it!â Eileen reached for her phone to make the call, but Bryan quickly snatched it away.
The next second, he handed her his phone instead. âMineâs easier to use. Call him, use the Bluetooth, and Iâll talk to him.â
As she dialed, Eileen asked with curiosity, âWhatâs wrong?â
Her voice, soft and alluring, filled the quiet of the car. The innocent expression on her face momentarily captivated Bryan.
âJust follow my instructions,â Bryan replied, loosening his tie, barely resisting the allure of her voice.
Eileen, still confused, went ahead and dialed the number. However, the call was quickly hung up after a brief ring. The same thing happened when she tried calling again.
âIt looks like this person is cautious now,â Eileen said as she placed the phone in the storage compartment.
ââ¡â â¤ââââ£â⢠ââ ââââââ¥âââ¢.âââ âDarling, what should we do now?â
Hearing the term âdarling,â Bryan abruptly pressed the brake pedal, stopping the car. He reached over and flicked Eileenâs forehead. It hurt so much that she held her forehead with both hands.
âWhy did you flick my forehead? Did I say something wrong? Arenât you my husband? Isnât it right for me to call you darling?â
âThe issue is that you only call me that when thereâs a problem. You need to fix that!â Bryan declared. He then steered the car to the side to avoid traffic. Seeing Eileen leaning against the car door, her eyes filled with displeasure, he pulled out his phone and dialed Raymond.
âInvestigate the person overseeing the Byrd familyâs construction site immediately. I need his location within an hour.â
He ended the call, rested his hand on the steering wheel, and tapped his fingertips on it.
Eileen parted her lips and hesitated to use the familiar term again. Addressing him that way had its benefits when used appropriately. However, misusing it could ignite his desires.
Eileen sneaked a glance at the area between Bryanâs legs, which appeared to be aroused.
âEileen, what are you looking at?â Bryan couldnât help but shut his legs. As he turned to her, the tension in his neck stood out, giving him a fierce look. He reached out to grab her collar to pull her closer and stopped when he was just inches from her face.
âIâm really just trying to solve a problem,â Eileen said, grabbing his wrist with a resigned look.
