Chapter 973:
Kamila sneered, her voice dripping with irony. âSheâs just deceiving a naive fool like you. SheâIââ
âWhatâs going on?â Keith asked, entering the room with a serious expression. He looked at Kamila and Tilda, his eyes narrowing. âWho wonât acknowledge me?â
Suddenly, Kamilaâs expression shifted. Tilda understood the situation. Despite her disappointment with Kamila, she kept quiet about the matter in front of Keith. âItâs nothing, Dad,â she said. âIâll go back to my husbandâs place for now. I wonât be staying here for a while. Give me a call if you need anything.â
She then left, suitcase in tow.
Keith looked at Kamila, puzzled. âWhatâs gotten into her?â
âNothing to worry about. I scolded her a bit, and she got upset,â Kamila replied, sitting back down and avoiding Keithâs eyes. Keith nodded, shrugged off his coat, and went upstairs. Watching him, Kamila sighed.
If Keith had been paying more attention to her, he would have found out what she and Tilda had been discussing. He might have even realized something was off with her. Keith had always been good to her over the years. The only problem was, she didnât feel any love from him. He was simply fulfilling his duties as a husband. Another woman held his heart, and she believed she would never replace her.
She didnât plan to replace that woman in Keithâs heart. No matter how much Keith loved Dottie, Dottie was dead. But she couldnât allow Dottieâs daughter to show up and claim the family fortune she had worked so hard to protect!
With a frown, she racked her brain, desperately searching for a way to get Eileen and her family out of Alverton for good.

Eileen sneezed and rubbed her nose. âSome people must be plotting something behind my back,â she joked.
âWhat are you talking about?â Bryan chuckled, setting down his pen and walking over to her.
âGabriela keeps mentioning horseback riding. Seems like she hasnât had enough fun. Iâll take her again sometime soon.â
The moment Gabriela heard the word âhorse,â she spun around and jumped excitedly. âHorsey ride!â she exclaimed.
Eileen, with a smile, leaned her head on Bryanâs shoulder, watching Gabriela playfully scamper around the open space.
Once the money from EB Group landed in VQ Groupâs account, Eileen had Raymond pay the workers ahead of schedule.
They even wrote the workers a receipt stating it was an advance, letting them know that it was not VQ Group that had taken their money. VQ Group would handle getting the money back from Conroy. To make it official, they signed an authorization form. Raymond collected the signed authorization and the receipt, placing them neatly on Bryanâs desk.
Finally, curiosity got the better of him. He approached Bryan.
âMr. Dawson, Iâve been wondering⦠What did you mean when you asked me to get your coat at the Vazquez Mansion that night?â
âWhat coat?â Eileen asked, tilting her head towards Raymond in confusion. Her long hair cascaded over Bryanâs wrist. Bryan frowned slightly and gently tucked it behind her ear. His gaze then shifted to Raymond, his eyes narrowing. Raymond, sensing the sudden shift in atmosphere, clammed up instantly.
