Chapter 986:
She knew that many at the banquet had realized she was behind the scheme, but Eileen had unexpectedly turned the tables, catching everyone off guard. If she continued to oppose Eileen, it was only a matter of time before others thought less of her. After all, there was no personal grudge between Eileen and her. As she pondered this, a sudden realization sparked in her eyes, and she swiftly turned around to head upstairs.
On the way back, Eileen appeared a bit upset and snuggled up on Bryanâs lap, fidgeting with his watch. Her long black hair cascaded down, resting on Bryanâs legs. With a tender touch, she caressed his chin and confessed, âIâm still in a foul mood because she didnât kneel to me.â
âIâll kneel to you when we get home,â Bryan grinned.
Eileen scowled, gave him a gentle tap on the face, and playfully pinched his cheek. âWhy are you so shameless?â
âReally?â Bryan grasped her wrist and said, âTonight, you can test just how shameless I really am.â How was she supposed to test that?
Eileen suddenly realized something and moved away, tucking her long hair behind her ear and creating some space between them. She quickly changed the topic, saying, âKeep your distance from the Aston family from now on.â
âWhatâs wrong?â Bryan, propped against the car door, gazed at her with a curious expression. âAre you scared?â
âIâm not scared; I just donât want to stir up trouble for the Aston family. My mother always avoided getting involved with them when she was alive.â As Eileen thought of Keith, she recalled his poised and refined demeanor, likely honed from a life of stability and tranquility. She didnât want to ruin Keithâs peaceful life.

âIf Kamila doesnât cause you any problems, Iâm willing to overlook the matter,â Bryan said after some contemplation.
âDonât worry. I can solve all the problems sheâs created.â Eileen looked up and inquired, âWhen did you slip the jade seal into her bag?â
He had only revealed to her that he had obtained the jade seal by putting it in her hand and had subsequently retrieved it from her. Eileen was unaware of the events that had transpired afterward, but she only knew that Bryan had instructed her to search Kamila.
âThe thing you took at the beginning wasnât the jade seal. It was just a stone I found in the garden house, and I pressed it into your hand,â Bryan said with a hint of amusement.
Eileen realized this explained why it had felt so heavy. Now that she thought about it, she recalled that the object had actually been quite coarse to the touch. Since she had never seen the jade seal, she had only gauged it by its weight.
âYouââ Eileen began.
Noticing she was about to get angry, Bryan swiftly interjected, âRaymond had possession of the item. He witnessed a waitress discard it into a flowerpot and then retrieved it. Given the crowded banquet, if he had transferred it to me, someone would have noticed.â As a result, he had given Eileen a fake. The important thing was that she had believed it was the real one.
Eileen was speechless.
She really wanted to curse him!
âIâll kneel twice as punishment tonight,â Bryan quickly said, holding up three fingers. âPlease donât be mad, honey. After I kneel, you canât be upset anymore.â
