Chapter 12: The Truth Thebes, Egypt 1324 BC

Ankhesenamun

A week later Abasi arrived with Alexandria’s parents and Ramses “My ladies and lord” her father said as he bowed, unfortunately they’d arrived just as we were about to have a meeting so some of the priests were there watching their every move

“Welcome back, you’ve been missed greatly” Tutankhamun said as he rose

“As have you and your beautiful wives my lord” Alexandria’s mother said as she too bowed

“My ladies, I’m sure that you two would enjoy talking with Alexandria’s family, and I’m sure that Ron misses his family”

“Yes we would” I said as I rose with my best friend. When we arrived at Alexandria’s chambers and Ron had been brought over with the twins, we sat on Alexandria’s bed and started talking

“So, how have you been doing?” her father asked

“Wonderful, and how have all of you been?” I asked

“We’ve been doing very good, thank you. Now Ron I’m very upset that you ran off like that instead of waiting to be summoned by Pharaoh” he said angrily as he turned to Ron

“I’m sorry”

“I’m sorry, is that all that you have?”

“Well, I really missed Alexandria, so I ran off”

“Now everybody calm down, there is no need to fight” I said, just then I heard the twins start to cry

“Excuse me, I must get the twins” Alexandria said as she rose and got the babies.

“They’ve grown” her father said once she’d sat down

“Yes they have” she smiled, with the little drama over for the time being, we continued catching up.

Tutankhamun

When I was finally done with my meeting, I started searching for my little family. I first found Alexandria’s father sitting on a bench in the garden that Ankhesenamun and Alexandria had made for me “You know, your daughter helped Ankhesenamun make this garden when she first arrived here”

“Really, I didn’t know that” he said sternly

“You’re getting stern sir, Alexandria can cheer you up” I quoted Ankhesenamun

“And how will she cheer me up? She lives here with you, far away from my family and I. She’s given birth to children, and she’s married, and is only 17, and you’re only 18, that’s considered to be very young where I come from” he replied as I silently sat next to him

“You know, when I first meet Alexandria, I thought that she was just like other blonde haired women that come through Egypt”

“There have been other blonde haired women in Egypt?” he asked and I nodded

“Yes, they rarely came, and they were always the same to me, spoiled and always took advantage of everything and everyone, so I didn’t pay any attention to them. But when I started getting to know Alexandria, I knew that she wasn’t anywhere near to normal blonde haired woman, she’s special”

“Yes she is” we both smiled.

“Does she still wear her Eye of Horus ring?” he asked after a minute

“Yes she does, she wears it every day. She said that you gave it to her when she turned 5” I replied and her father laughed

“Yes, I thought that it would bring her somewhat closer to Egypt, and now to you”

“I think that you’re right about that” I smiled as I thought about my Alexandria

“Answer me something my lord”

“Yes”

“What would you think if my wife, sons and I stayed here for a while?” he asked

“I think that would be wonderful. I know that Alexandria would miss you very much if you left, and Ankhesenamun and I would love to get to know you and the rest of your family some more” I smiled; glad that Alexandria’s family was staying with us.

Alexandria

When it was time for my chariot lessons with Tutankhamun, my dad pulled me aside before I managed to mounted the chariot basket “Alexandria, do you know just how dangerous this is?” he asked

“Yes I do, but I’ve been riding for almost 2 years now, so don’t worry” I said as I pulled away and got onto the chariot,

“Be careful” I heard him call as I made the horses do a canter

“I will be, and stop worrying, I’m strapped in” I called back as I caught up with Tutankhamun.

“I’m guessing that your father is worried?” he asked as we started racing

“Yeah, and you better be worried about losing” I laughed as I raced in front of him. A few hours later I’d just finished cleaning up from my ride when my mom came in with the twins

“They’re so big” she said as she passed them over

“Yeah, and they’re so beautiful” I sighed as I started feeding them, Tiye and Thutmose had just started eating solid foods.

“I heard that Ankhesenamun is pregnant again” my mom said after a minute

“Yep, and I’m worried about both the baby and Ankhesenamun”

“What do you mean by that?”

“When she gave birth to the last baby she became depressed, now I’m worried that when this baby dies, Ankhesenamun would be crushed” I replied

“Well, then, we’ll just have to help her through it” my mom said as she helped me clean the twins.

Tutankhamun

I was standing outside Alexandria’s bedchamber listening to her talk with her mother “So tell me, how much you really love Tutankhamun” I heard her mother ask

“With all my heart”

“Even though you know what’s going to happen next year?”

“Yes, but Mark said that I was sent here to save him”

“So you really believe in what Mark says, when History declares that Tutankhamun dies at the age of nineteen, and that there’s nothing that you or anyone can do about it” it was then that I decided to walk into the room “My lord” Alexandria’s mother said as she stood and bowed, and I nodded

“Can I please talk with Alexandria alone please?” I asked and her mother left.

“I’m guessing you heard?” she asked and nodded as I sat next to her

“Am I really going to die young?” I wondered and Alexandria nodded her head

“But I don’t want you too, you’re too wonderful.” We were silent for a while till I broke the silence

“I love you Alexandria, and I’m not mad at you for lying” I smiled as her eyes lit up

“You’re not?”

“Well a little, but I’m still curious for were you really came from, and how you and Abasi came here”

“Well, I think that you might want to talk to Abasi about the second part, but as for the first part, I can tell you” she said as we got comfortable on the bed. “So Abasi and I came from a far away land called America, it’s very different from Egypt

“How so” I asked, getting very curious about her home. When she finished talking I told her that I was going to talk with Abasi, and when I found him, I asked him to sit on a nearby bench, “Abasi, my friend, Alexandria has told me your secrets about where you’ve come from, but I wasn’t to know how you two came here, and I would strongly advise that you tell me the truth” I said as I sat next to him

“Might as well, so you’ve heard of the legends of people being able to time travel?” he asked

“Yes, you and Ankhesenamun told me about them”

“Well, that’s what Alexandria, Alexandria’s father, Ron and I can do”

“But I that they were only legends, but I guess that you, Alexandria, her father and Ron are proof that they really exist” I smiled.

“Please don’t get mad”

“Why would I get mad?” I asked

“Well because I know that your father despised the time traveling idea, and we’ve been lying to you for so long”

“Well first of all, I’m not my father, and second of all, I’m not angry at you and Alexandria for lying because you two have remained faithful for these past several years” I smiled again

“Thank you my lord, you don’t know how much this means to me.”
