Chapter 16: The Dream Memphis, Egypt 1323 BC

We'd just arrived at Memphis, we're planning on having dinner and spend the night, then the following morning continue to the Step Pyramid.”So my ladies and young lord, what shall we have for dinner this fine evening?” Tutankhamun asked as we settled into my temporary bedchambers

“I was thinking about roast duck” Ankhesenamun suggested

“That would be an excellent idea, what do you think about roast duck Ron?” Tutankhamun asked

“I haven't had roast duck in a really long time, so I also think that's an excellent idea” he smiled

“Good, then I shall tell the chef of our evening meal” Tutankhamun rose and told a nearby servant to tell the chef of our evening plans, and when he sat back down he asked “What should we do now?”

“I have no idea” Ankhesenamun replied as she rocked the now sleeping Kiya in her arms. When it was finally time for dinner, the seven of us walked to the dining hall, and everyone in the room stood and bowed low, I turned my gaze from the nobles and priests to the tables in front of the room and saw in one of the seats was Smenkare. When we reached our seats and sat, he turned to us

“It's a pleasure to see you all again” he said, and I noted the sarcasm in his voice so I nodded at him,

“Hey Alex, whose he?” Ron asked

“That's Tutankhamun's brother, Smenkare”

“Really, I thought that he was a she, and she was Nefertiti”

“Yeah well Nefertiti stole Smenkare's identity, then after she really did die, Aye said that Smenkare had killed her, and we found out that the old man was telling the truth about him” I whispered

“This still seems confusing.”

“What are you two talking about?” Tutankhamun asked as he turned to us

“I was telling Ron about your brother my lord” I replied as I smiled brightly at him.

A few days later we finally arrived at the Step Pyramid “Are you sure you guys will be okay here on your own with Smenkare?” I asked as I hugged Ankhesenamun good bye

“Of course we will my love, don't worry about my sweet” she smiled

“As you wish” I smiled back, but still feeling worried.

“My sweet baby brother, you shouldn't worry about Ankhesenamun, Ron and the children” Smenkare said as he put his hands on my shoulder, but I shook them off

“Listen, I don't want to hear that you hurt them okay?” I asked

“Fine, fine, just go kill that lion” he teased and I punched him in the shoulder, then turned back to my sister and kissed her on the cheek

“Love you” and she hugged me tightly. When I turned to Alexandria, she was just finishing saying her good byes to her brother and our children

“Now, I want you to be good while I'm gone and to stay near Ankhesenamun, and make sure to keep the twins with you at all times”

“Will do” Ron smiled, but it quickly vanished and the young man hugged his sister tightly “I'm going to miss you Alexandria” I heard him whimper

“I'll miss you too, but don't worry I'll be back very soon”

“You swear?”

“On my life” she smiled as she kissed his head, then kissed the twins' heads, and stood and walked over “Ready?” she choked, I could tell that she was close to crying

“Yeah” I smiled as I held her hand.

Soon Tutankhamun and I were heading off towards the Black Lands “Are you sure that you're okay?” Tutankhamun asked as he held onto my hand, we were standing at the railing of 'The Beloved of Amun' watching as the Step Pyramid slowly shrunk from our view, and I let out a sigh as I leaned up against him

“No”

“Worried?”

“Yeah”

“About what?”

“Ron, Ankhesenamun, the children, you” I said as I turned to face him

“I'll be okay” he promised

“You don't know that, I know that I'm supposed to save you, but I still have a feeling that you're going to perish on this hunt” I buried my face in his chest and felt his arms wrap around me.

“Alexandria, I swear on my life and” I stopped him

“Don't, please don't say that”

“Why?” he asked

“Because I just don't want to listen to it” I said as I buried my head back in his chest and let out a little whimper

“Alexandria, maybe it's my destiny to die” he murmured and I slapped him

“Don't say that, don't ever say that, do you understand me?” I screamed at him and he nodded

“What's going on?” Mark asked as he ran out of his cabin

“It's nothing Abasi, Pharaoh and I are just talking” I said and he nodded and left.

“Alexandria, maybe we can fake my death and”

“You've all ready asked that, and the answer is still no”

“Alexandria” his voice suddenly going stern

“What” I pouted

“I'm giving you an order now, you will take Ankhesenamun, the children and I to your time, and we will stay with you” he said as he cornered me against the railing of the boat

“No” I spat. I saw the anger rise up in his eyes

“Alexandria Manor” he snarled and I bit my lip, only my parents said my full name when they were mad at me, and I shrunk onto my knees and started crying “Oh now my sweet love, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry” he said as he knelt in front of me and pulled me close “Talk to me”

“I want to take you and Ankhesenamun with me, but I don't want my time to change who you are” I whimpered as I clung to him

“Alexandria, I swear to you that I won't change for you, and I'm sure that Ankhesenamun won't either” he said as he pulled my to his and kissed me very gently, and before I knew it I was in his arms and Tutankhamun was walking towards his cabin in the center of the boat and right before we entered he yelled “I want no one to enter till morning”

“Yes my lord” I heard a few shipmates say as a few others laughed out loud as we entered the cabin. Once he'd put me on the bed, he started kissing me as his hands tenderly roamed my body, making me groan with delight,

“Love me” I pleaded

“For you my love, anything” he murmured into my ear.

The next morning I was watching Alexandria get ready for the day “You know Alexandria, you're one of the most beautiful women that I've ever seen” I smiled

“One of?” she teased as she glanced at me from across the cabin, she was just finishing getting dressed

“Well, there's also Ankhesenamun, Kiya and Tiye” I chuckled as she walked over and sat next to me and started kissing me

“Can you please brush my hair?” she asked as she passed over a brush, so I took it and started to brush her now waist long, blonde hair. Once I'd finished I braided it

“You need a haircut my love” I said as I kissed her neck

“I know, and I think that you need to grow your hair out if you want to come to my time” she teased as she pulled away

“You're such a tease” I laughed as I stood and bounded after her. Later on that day, we were sunbathing on the deck of the boat

“Does it always take this long to get to the Black Lands?” Alexandria asked as she turned towards me

“Afraid so my lady, but at least you and Abasi are here with me this time” I smiled as I sat up and looked at her.

“My lord, we'll be arriving at our destination soon” Abasi said as he came over and bowed

“Thank you Abasi” I smiled as he walked away '”We better be getting ready to get off” I said as I got, and watched as Alexandria smiled as she too stood, but before I turned to our cabin I gently kissed her and whispered “I love you.”

Soon Tutankhamun and I were on dry land once more, but this time there wasn't cities and towns or the Step Pyramid to gaze at, just bare and dry waste land “Why would a lion want to live out here?” I asked as I shaded my eyes from the blinding sun.

“Well amongst all this dry dry desert, there are small places of beauty and wonder” Tutankhamun replied, making me blush. Once camp was set up later that afternoon Tutankhamun and I left for a little walk together

“I love you” I sighed as I wrapped my arms around his waist

“And how I love you far more my sweet flower” he stopped and turned to me

“What's wrong?” I wondered as I wrapped my slender arms around his strong, copper skinned neck

“Alexandria, I want you to know that no matter what happens, I will always love you, Ankhesenamun and the children”

“And I want you to know that I love you in the same way too, and I never want to leave you” I replied and he smiled and kissed me for what seemed like forever, making me sigh with satisfaction. A few hours later Tutankhamun and I were laying near one of the tents talking to each other when I heard feet walking over to us, so I looked over and shaded my eyes from the sun, and to my relief it was Mark and a few others from the camp

“My lord and lady, dinner is ready” Mark informed us

“Thank you my friend” Tutankhamun said as we got up and walked over to the main campfire.

“Dinner is now served my lord, and the food has been tested and it's not poisoned” the head chef said as he served our evening meal, which was a variety of fruits and vegetables with some roast duck

“Looks delicious” I smiled as we started eating

“Doesn't it always” Tutankhamun chimed in and we laughed.

Once dinner was finished, Alexandria and I retired to our tent “So my lord, tell me why did you want to retire so early in the evening?” Alexandria asked as she sat on the bed

“Well you see, I thought that we could have some fun after such a long day” I smiled as she giggled

“Are you sure my lord? It's been such a long, hot day” I smiled as I picked her up, which made her gasp, then she started giggling. When I put her on the bed, she looked up at me seductively as I undressed and climbed onto the bed “Kiss me Tutankhamun” she pleaded and I leaned over and tenderly kissed her as I pushed her back onto the bed.

'I was flying high on the wind late at night, I was Horus. I watched as the stars slowly blinked out, and I plummeted down to the ground, then there was nothing. The scene changed and I saw Alexandria, Ankhesenamun and the children. My wives were weeping over something, when I got closer I realized that it was me, I'd died.' I woke with a start, Alexandria and Abasi were right, I was going to die on this hunt, but how? Maybe in the accident I didn't know how, all I did know was that I felt scared, and sweat started to drip down my forehead so I got up and went outside of the tent. It was still night so I sat on the ground a little ways away from the camp and looked up at the stars. A few minutes later I heard rustling behind me

“My lord?” it was Alexandria, I let out a sigh of relief as I got up and turned to her, and saw that she was wrapped up in our blanket and I smiled

“My love, aren't you supposed to be asleep?” I asked as I went to her and pulled her close to me

“I woke up when you left the tent, and got worried when you didn't come back” she sighed as she leaned up against me “I love you”

“I love you more” I said as I kissed her head.

“Why'd you get up?” she asked

“I had a nightmare” I replied as we sat down together and Alexandria snuggled up in my lap

“What was it about?” she asked as her emerald eyes gazed into my dark eyes, so I told her all about it, and when I was done she was silent as I put my head on her shoulder and she stroked my head “Don't be scared my love” she said after a minute and I smiled at her.
