Tutankhamun
A month and a half later, I was sitting in a garden. Ankhesenamun had told me that Alexandria had talked to her a few days earlier and that she wanted us to talk in private, so I had some alone time planned for the two of us in the garden that the two women had built for me, and I was now sitting patiently in the garden waiting for Alexandria to arrive. "Tutankhamun" I heard her voice ring over the garden and I felt my heart race with excitement and nervousness
"Over here" I called back
"You wanted to talk with me?" she asked as she sat next to me.
"Yeah, I wanted to ask, that when you're with me, what do you feel?" I asked as I started playing with the grass
"Well, I feel happy, safe, full of joy and some private feelings that I'll keep to myself for the time being" she said as she looked down at the ground, and I knew that she had the same feelings for me, but how was I going to get her to say it?
'Maybe if I give hints of my own feelings' I thought to myself
"What do you feel when you're around me?" she asked after a minute
"Well, I feel like the whole room is brighter when you're around, and I feel special inside when you direct your attentions to me" I saw her blush "And I feel like I can't live without you" I continued, I watched her think on what I said, and then I saw her eyes widen as if she'd just put two and two together "What" I asked. Suddenly she got onto her hands and knees and crawled over to me, and crawled over my legs, when I looked up at her, I came eye to eye to her bright emerald eyes
"You love me don't you?" she whispered
"I don't know what you mean" I gulped.
"You want me to be yours, don't you?" it suddenly clicked, she knew about my feelings for her, and she knew that I knew about her feelings for me, and I nodded. Just then she kissed me, taking me fully by surprise, and she pulled away and looked me straight in the eye again
"Alexandria?" I asked
"Yes?" she said
"I love you"
"I love you two" she replied and kissed me again, and I kissed her back, eventually falling back into the grass, enjoying every minute of our new found love.
When it was time for lunch we went to the dining hall and sat in our seats with Ankhesenamun who asked "So?"
"What?" I asked in return
"Did you tell her?"
"Yes I did"
"And"
"She has the same feelings as I do" Ankhesenamun gasped, and everyone in the room looked at her
"We'll talk of this later" she whispered, I could see the excitement in her eyes. After lunch we went to another little garden with a pool, and sat on the damp grass under the cool shade of the trees "Tell me everything" Ankhesenamun said eagerly. So Alexandria and I told her everything that had happened earlier that day, and when we finished there were small tears starting to fall down her smooth face
"What is wrong my dear sister?" I asked as I pulled her into my arms
'Oh, it's just that I'm so happy for you two and it seems that you no longer need me" she whimpered
"Ankhesenamun, I will always need you"
"Always" she asked as she looked up at me
"Always and forever" I promised and she hugged me tightly.
Alexandria
3 weeks later Ankhesenamun, Tutankhamun and I were eating dinner while dancers, jugglers and musicians performed for us "Beautiful, aren't they?" Ankhesenamun asked from the other side of Tutankhamun
"Yes they are, what is the occasion my lord?" I asked
"Uh, oh, no reason" he replied, clearly bored.
"Do you know when the festival will be?"
"Next year" he replied
"Why next year"
"Because, most of the supplies will take a while to make and then get here"
'He's more bored then I thought' I thought to myself. Once dinner was finished we were waiting for desert
"Alexandria, can I please speak with you outside?" Tutankhamun asked
"Of course" I smiled as we stood and went out to a small balcony overlooking the Nile. "What did you need to tell me?" I wondered
"Now Alexandria, my love, I have a serious question to ask you, do you understand?" he asked as he pulled me into his arms
"Yes my love" I said as I looked into his dark, mysterious eyes, I watched as Tutankhamun pulled out a golden ring from a small pouch at his waist
"Will you marry me?" he asked.
"Oh Tutankhamun, I don't know, I mean we just confessed our feelings for each other a few weeks ago, I just don't know" I said as I pulled away
"But Alexandria, we're in love, and you even said just a few days ago that you wanted us to be closer then lovers"
"I know what I said, but that doesn't mean that we should be moving this fast" I turned my back to him.
"But Alexandria, I thought that's what you wanted, for us to be married" he said as he wrapped his arms around my waist,
"Here how about this, I'll think about it, and I'll give you an answer as soon as possible, okay?" I said as I turned to him
"Okay, at least it's an answer" he smiled and I kissed him.
"We should go back to Ankhesenamun" I said as I led him back to the dining hall.
Late that night I couldn't sleep, I was thinking about Tutankhamun's marriage proposal 'It's only been three weeks since we confessed our love to each other, but loner since we fell in love. I know he wants to move forward, and I want to move forward too, but am I ready for marriage?" I'm almost 17 and he's almost 18, and going to die when he's 19. I love Tutankhamun greatly and I want to be with him till he passes to the underworld and I want to make the most over every moment that I have with him. We may be young but he married Ankhesenamun when he was only 9, and she was 12. I love him, and I want him. I should go talk with him, but he's probably asleep' I thought for another second 'On second thought he's probably awake' I smiled at the thought, after another hour of thinking some more, I finally came to conclusion 'I want to marry Tutankhamun' So I swiftly got up and got ready and rushed to Tutankhamun's bedchambers. When I reached the doorway that led to his bedchamber, I silently opened them and padded over to his bed and climbed in and whispered his name and he turned around
"Couldn't sleep?" I asked noticing that he didn't look anywhere close to tired
"No, you?" he asked as I curled up against him
"No
"I'm guessing that you're here about the proposal?" he asked after a minute
"Yeah" I replied
"What's your answer?"
"My answer is yes, I will marry you" I looked into his eyes and saw relive, excitement and joy
"Really?" he asked as he pulled me closer and I nodded, and he kissed me.
"Tutankhamun" I said a little while later
"Yes"
"I love you" I loved the way it felt to say those words to him
"I love you too" he said as he moved a strand of hair away from my face and kissed me again, longer this time.
The next morning Tutankhamun and I were fast asleep in each other's arms till I heard a crash, making me jolt up. It was Ankhesenamun; she'd brought breakfast for Tutankhamun, and was now staring at us with her mouth open "What happened?" she asked, and I explained. Once Tutankhamun had finally woken up, she jumped on him crying "Oh, I'm so happy for you"
"What happened?" he asked, seeing the servants cleaning the mess that Ankhesenamun had made.
"Ankhesenamun found us lying together" I replied
"Yes I did. Now come on you two, it's time for breakfast" she said as she pulled us out of bed.
Tutankhamun
Once we were at breakfast I took mu usual seat in between Ankhesenamun and Alexandria "So, Ankhesenamun, I was wondering if you could help me find a wedding dress today?" Alexandria asked as she leaned forward
"I would be glad to help" Ankhesenamun smiled.
Once we were done eating Ankhesenamun said "Here I have the perfect dress that you can wear" and she pulled Alexandria away towards her chambers. I on the other hand went to the floweriest to get some flowers for the wedding. When I'd finished, I walked to Ankhesenamun's chambers to see if the ladies were done. When I knocked on the doors leading to the bedchamber, I heard a small gasp and after a moment the door opened, and Ankhesenamun's head poked out, when she saw me she said "You can't come in"
"And why is that my lady?"
"Because it's not tradition, that's why"
"All right then, are you two almost done?"
"Yes" I heard Alexandria call from inside the room.
"Will I see you two for lunch?"
"Yes, now shoo" Ankhesenamun said as she slammed to door in my face. When it was time for lunch, I was all ready in my seat when Ankhesenamun and Alexandria came in and floated to their seats, "So, when do you guys think that you'll have the wedding?" Ankhesenamun asked
"I was thinking about next year, what do you guys think?" I asked
"I think that's a good idea" Alexandria agreed.]
A few hours later Alexandria and I went to her chariot lessons "You're getting better" I yelled as we raced across the dessert, she smiled as she speed up, making me do the same thing, just to keep up. A few hours later we were shooting a target "Best 2 out of 3?" I asked when her arrow hit closer to the mark then mine,
"You're on" she whispered against my lips as she kissed me. In the end, she won
"I don't get it, I've been practicing since I was a young boy, and you've been practicing for almost a year, and you manage to beat" I said dumbfounded
'I have a good teacher" she giggled as she kissed my cheek, and then bounded off to the palace with her long golden hair and dress trailing behind her, and I smiled as I walked after her. When I'd finished washing up, I went to the dining hall. Once I arrived I saw Ankhesenamun and Alexandria laughing, when Alexandria saw me enter, she beckoned me over, and I walked over to them.
"And how are you two doing this fine afternoon?" I asked as I hugged them tightly
"Very good" Ankhesenamun smiled as she kissed my neck, making me shiver.
"What were you two talking about?" I asked as we sat
"Ankhesenamun was telling me a funny story from your childhood" she replied as lunch was served.
"What was the story?"
"When your weasel was assassinated with shaving cream" Alexandria giggled
"Hey, it was a very upsetting" I pouted and the girls laughed. "Anyways, what shall we do after lunch?" I asked a few minutes later
"Don't know" Ankhesenamun said.
"Do you have any meetings?" Alexandria asked
"I believe I have one with Aye and Horemheb later today" I shuddered just thinking about it. After lunch it was time to deal with the two men that I truly didn't like or trust, when I entered my office Aye and Horemheb were all ready waiting
"Where were you?" Aye asked angrily
"Eating lunch" I replied dryly
"Let's get started before we waist anymore time"
"Agreed, now the army is in need of more troops and weapons to attack the Hittites" Horemheb said
"How many"
"A few hundred soldiers and several thousand weapons" he replied
"You do know how expensive that is right? And we're all ready low on budget I sighed
"Yes I do, but we need those blasted Hittites to be dead and gone forever" he growled.
Ankhesenamun
I was busy talking with one of the royal scribes about the festival and the wedding when I saw one of the jackal puppies that I owned leaping towards me. I picked it up and stroked its soft head when I noticed a note attached to its foot. I opened the papyrus and it read 'Meet me in the dining hall, I have something to show you, Alexandria' so I went to the dining hall. When I arrived I saw Alexandria sitting on the steps with something in her lap.
"What is that?" I asked as I walked to her and I saw two littlie lion cub heads rise
"Tutankhamun sent them to us" she said as she passed me the larger of the two, "They're so beautiful" she said as I sat next to her
"Yes they are" I giggled. When Tutankhamun was finished with his meeting later that afternoon, Alexandria and I were relaxing by one of the pools with the little lion cubs napping on our laps,
"Did you two like the gifts that I sent you?" he asked as he sat in front of us
"We love them" I said as I sat up and scooted over to him.
"Definitely" Alexandria said as she scooted next to me. At dinner that night she asked "What shall we do after dinner?"
"Maybe we can watch the stars" Tutankhamun suggested
"I think that's a wonderful idea" I said happily. Once dinner was finished we went to a flat part of the roof of the palace and looked up at the stars
"So beautiful" Alexandria sighed
"Yeah" I agreed as I sat up and looked over and saw Tutankhamun, who was just looking up
"Are you okay?" I asked
"Yeah" he smiled as I looked over at his hand, and noticed that it was holding Alexandria's, so I laid back down and held his other hand, and he held it back.
Alexandria
The following morning I was sitting on the bed watching as Tutankhamun and Mark, who had returned at midnight the previous night, talk about what had occurred since he left. When they were done Mark said "If you don't mind my lord, I would like to talk with Alexandria alone for a minute" Tutankhamun nodded, then kissed me, and left.
"Please don't get mad" I pleaded once the door had closed
"Oh, I'm more then mad, I furious" he yelled
"Well if I'm correct, Tutankhamun had a mysterious second wife, correct?"
"Yes" he seemed dumbfounded
"So there, don't get mad"
"When's the wedding?"
"Sometime next year, and we're having the Opet festival next year too" I replied as I leaned back
"Oh really"
"Yep" I smiled. Late that night I couldn't sleep because I was nervous that Mark would get even more furious at me because I'd found Smenkare. I heard the door to my bedchamber whisper open and shut, and there was a single pair of silent feet padding over to my bed, and I felt someone lie next to me
"Are you asleep?" it was Tutankhamun
"No" I whispered as I turned around
"Can't sleep?" he whispered as he got under the blankets
"Yeah, what about you" I asked
"I couldn't sleep either" he replied as he kissed me as softly as a mother would kiss a child, then he released me,
"Don't stop" I murmured as I pulled him close to me, and he kissed me again as he got on top of me "Wait" I said and he pulled away
"What?" he asked
"Not yet" he chuckled and rolled off
"Are you sure?" he asked
"No" he smiled and got back on top and started kissing my neck.
The next morning, I floated to my seat and sat down, and waited till breakfast arrived, till I noticed Ankhesenamun staring at me, "What?" I asked as I looked back
"Couldn't sleep last night?" she wondered
"No"
"Before or after Tutankhamun visited you?"
"Before" I giggled as Tutankhamun stumbled in, clearly tired, when he sat down, Ankhesenamun's eyes were wide with surprise and delight
"Long night?" she teased and he nodded as he rested his head on his hand and yawned. "Look at what you've done to him Alexandria; he can barely keep his head up, and his eyes open" she teased again. After breakfast Ankhesenamun and I went for a walk until Tutankhamun was done with his meeting. "So how good did you sleep exactly?" she asked
"Well before Tutankhamun came in, I couldn't sleep, but after he did I fell right to sleep"
"Before or after"
"What do you mean?"
"I know what you two did last night"
"I'm sorry" I apologized
"No need to say sorry, now tell me, why couldn't you sleep?"
"Well, as you know Abasi returned the other night and Tutankhamun talked with him in my room, and after he left Abasi talked with me about marrying Tutankhamun. But last night I couldn't sleep because I was worried that he would get mad at me because I found Smenkare" I confessed
"Why would he do that?" Ankhesenamun asked concerned.
"Well, I" just the Mark arrived.
"My ladies how are you two this lovely morning?" he asked
"Good" I replied as I sat up straighter.
"What's the matter my lady?"
"I found Smenkare"
"I think that I'll let you two talk alone" Ankhesenamun said after a moment of silence as she got up and left. When she was gone I sighed
"Listen, I know that I'm in trouble"
"You're more than just 'in trouble'" Mark yelled, I didn't look at him, "But I guess that doesn't really matter right now, and besides the reason why I came out was because I needed to tell you something"
"What's that?" I asked as I finally looked at him.
"Well, right before I left our present time your dad said that I should bring you home"
"Why now" I asked as I stood.
"Your family misses you" he replied, trying to reassure me
"Can't they just come here?" I asked
"I hadn't thought that, I'll make sure to tell them when I return to the future"
"Good" I sighed as I sat back down "How are they anyways?"
"They all miss you, especially Ron"
"I wish he had this time traveling ability, and then he could see these ancient civilizations" I sighed.
"Well, I think he actually might have the gift" I was about to reply when Tutankhamun came in with Smenkare, who now looked back to normal, following right behind.
"Abasi, I'm sure you remember my brother Smenkare? He was banished right after Meritaten passed. But thanks to Alexandria, he is no longer in banishment"
"Where was he hiding?" Mark asked
"Here in the palace"
"Even though I was banished to the delta" Smenkare smiled, I noticed how his voice was a little deeper than Tutankhamun's.
"So this must be the infamous Smenkare, it's a pleasure to finally meet you, I'm"
"Abasi, Tutankhamun talks often of you, and it's an honor to meet an old friend of Tutankhamun and Ankhesenamun's" Smenkare said as he bowed to Abasi, who in bowed in turn.
