Tutankhamun
âWhere is she?â I asked, getting antsy. I was standing in a temple on my wedding day, I was finally marrying Alexandria
âThe queen is helping her get ready my lord, theyâll be here shortlyâ a priest replied bowing low and I nodded. After minutes of agonizing silence passed I heard the swift movement of gently feet moving against the tile floor, along with the swift movement and tons of giggling, and I smiled to myself.
âMy lordâ Abasi said from behind me
âYes Abasi, what do you need?â I asked as I turned to him
âIâm afraid to inform you, but I must return to my home right after you and Alexandria wed, because Iâm bringing her family here as a wedding gift for Alexandriaâ
âI understand, take as long as you needâ
âThank you my lordâ he bowed and I nodded at him. When the giggling and the footsteps stopped, I heard Ankhesenamun speak to Alexandria
âNow, we must remain calmâ a giggle erupted from Alexandria. Another minute passed and Ankhesenamun said âAre you ready?â a short pause âgood, now give me your arm.â The doors swung open and in strode the two women that meant the world to me. Ankhesenamun and Alexandria both wore long dresses. Around Ankhesenamunâs neck and waist were fresh white flowers. Fresh white flowers were in the same place on Alexandria, except the only difference was that there were white flowers around her head. In both of their hair were multicolored flowers, most of which I had picked for this particular day. Ankhesenamunâs hair was braided into several small braids; her face was lit up and was on the brink of tears. Alexandriaâs hair was braided into one long braid, with smaller braids woven into it; the only makeup that she wore was kohl, a light shade of lipstick, her cheeks were stained with a light cherry color, which darkened when she blushed when our eyes meet. I then took her hand in mine and kissed it.
âYour things have all ready been moved to your new chambers next to Ankhesenamunâs, but I doubt that youâll be seeing them for the next few daysâ I said as I wrapped an arm around her slender waist and pulled her close to me. A few hours later we were wed, and Abasi left when we were just starting to celebrate. When Alexandria and I finally headed to bed I felt her start to drift towards her chambers âTired all ready?â I asked
âWell I,â she stopped and shoved me against a nearby wall, and started kissing me
âDarn you are strong womanâ I gasped when I managed to pull away
âTake me to your bed my loveâ she said as she started kissing me again. So I picked up my new wife and carried her the rest of the way to my chambers. Once there, I set Alexandria down and started to remove my jewelry, while I watched her do the same.
âTutankhamun?â she asked
âYes my love?â I said as I looked at her
âTake my clothes off for me?â she asked seductively, making my blood boil. So I silently walked over and slowly eased Alexandriaâs wedding dress off her slim body. Once it was off, I gazed at the bareness of the woman that stood before me now âDo you like it?â she asked, and I nodded, âThen come and get itâ she giggled as she bounded over to the bed and I gladly chased after her. âWhatâs wrong?â she asked once she was on the bed
âWhat do you mean, whatâs wrong?â I watched her eyes drift down to my abdomen; I followed her gaze and saw that my kilt was still pm âOhâ I blushed as I swiftly took it off. I watched my wifeâs eyes widen âWhy the look of surprise my love? Have you never seen a man with his clothes off before?â I asked as I took the final steps to the bed, and she shook her head. âAre you glad that you finally saw me, especially after what we did last year?â I asked and she nodded her head. So I climbed onto the bed and started to gently kiss her. After a few minutes we lied down and for the rest of that long night, we made soft love together. When we finished Alexandria turned to me
âI love you Tutankhamunâ she whispered
âI love you too Alexandriaâ I whispered back as we fell asleep in each otherâs arms.
Alexandria
A month and a half later Mark returned from his trip back home âAlexandria, I have a surprise for youâ he said as he led me outside
âCan you give me a hint?â I asked
âNow thatâs the thing about surprisesâ he laughed as we arrived at one of the various palace pools. When I turned the corner I saw my family waiting for me
âAlexâ Ron called as he rushed over and gave me a tight hug
âRon, how have you been?â I asked as I hugged him back
âBetter now that youâre safeâ he said as Ramses and my parents came over and we hugged and talked about the past year that Iâd been here. I learned the in the present time it had only been 3 months, since 1 month here meant one week there. A few hours later we heard someone calling
âAlexandria! Alexandria, where in the name of Amun are you?â
âItâs Tutankhamun. Iâm over hereâ I called as I stood. When he finally came over I went to him âTutankhamun, Abasi has returned and heâs brought my family with himâ
âReally?â he asked as we walked over to them
âEveryone, this is Pharaoh Tutankhamun, Tutankhamun, this is my familyâ I said
âItâs a pleasure to meet everyone; Alexandria has often talked about youâ
âReally, and are you taking good care of my daughter?â my dad asked as he walked over to us.
âYes sirâ
âShe hasnât caused you any trouble has she?â
âNo she hasnât, sheâs very wonderfulâ
âAbasi tells me that you two are now married, is this true?â
âYes it isâ
âAlexandriaâ my mom whimpered
âYes?â I asked as I looked at her. Iâd excepted her to start yelling at Tutankhamun and I, but instead she came over and gave me a hug and started crying. âMother, are you okay?â I asked as I hugged her back
âIâm not sure, Iâm still getting over you getting married, and meeting Tutankhamun, and all of this travelingâ
âI know I sort of still am tooâ I confessed.
âAre you pregnant?â my dad whispered into my ear
âNo, itâs still too early to knowâ I whispered back. Then Ramses and Ron came over
âSo youâre the famous Tutankhamun?â Ron asked in awe
âYes I am, and you two must be the famous Ron and Ramses?â Tutankhamun asked as he knelt in front of them
âYes sirâ Ramses said strongly and giving him a salute.
âAnd must be Alexandriaâs beautiful mother, I now know where she gets her beauty fromâ Tutankhamun said as he came over to my mother and kissed her hand
âYes sirâ she blushed.
âNow come, we must celebrate your arrival, and Iâm sure that we have much to talk aboutâ Tutankhamun said as he returned to me and put his arm around my waist.
Ankhesenamun
It was lunch time when Tutankhamun and Alexandria entered the dining hall with Abasi and a small group of people following. The little group followed Tutankhamun and Alexandria over to the seats, âEveryone, this is Queen Ankhesenamun, Ankhesenamun this is my familyâ Alexandria said motioning towards the small group
âItâs a pleasure to finally meet Alexandriaâs familyâ I smiled. Once everyone had settled in I asked my friend âSo this is your family?â
âYeahâ she smiled. Once lunch was over she pulled me into a small garden for a quick talk, âI have some questions that I hope that you have answers forâ
âAsk away, and Iâll answer your questions in the best way that I canâ I said as we sat, and she took a deep breath and began. When she was done telling me everything I said âYouâre pregnantâ
âAre you sure?â
âOf course, it all makes sense, youâre feeling tired during the day even though you get a full nights rest. Your hair is curlier and brighter, your skin is shinier, and youâre having morning sickness, among other things. Those are the most obvious signs that youâre carrying a childâ
âWhen should I tell Tutankhamun?â
âTell me what?â he asked as he came into the garden.
âHow long have you been there?â Alexandria asked as we stood and kissed his cheeks
âI just arrivedâ
âAlexandria has something to tell youâ I said as I stood and walked a little ways off, but just closes enough so that I could still hear them
âNow my love, what is it that you needed to tell me?â I heard Tutankhamun ask
âIâm pregnantâ
âYou are, this is wonderful! How far along are you?â
âI just found out, thatâs why Ankhesenamun and I were out here, andâ she was stopped when Tutankhamun leaned over and kissed her. Just then Alexandriaâs father entered the garden and saw me hiding behind a plant
âMy lady, what are you doing?â he asked
âShh, lookâ I pointed over to Tutankhamun and Alexandria
âAlexandria!â he yelled as he marched over
âFather, what are you doing here?â Alexandria gasped as she quickly turned around
âI thought that you were coming to your chambers to talk with your mother and I?â
âIâm pregnantâ
âYouâre whatâ he screamed. It was then that I decided to step into the conversation
âSir please donât get mad, she just found out and she just wanted to tell Tutankhamun andâ
âSilenceâ
âHow dare you silence the queenâ Tutankhamun yelled as he stepped up to Alexandriaâs father.
âI can do as I please, and you on the other hand are still a boyâ I saw Tutankhamun flinch at the remark.
âI am Pharaoh and I have more power over you, and I will have you arrested if you donât step downâ
âTry meâ
âGuards!â he yelled and a team of guards came in and arrested Alexandriaâs father.
âWhat do you want us to do with him my lord?â one asked
âNothing till I can figure something out, understand?â
âYes my lordâ and the guards marched off.
Alexandria
Half an hour later Tutankhamun and I went down to the dungeon to speak with my dad. When we were standing in front of him, my dad flung himself at Tutankhamun, only to be pushed back down by the chief of the guards, Ramose. âLet me talk with himâ I whispered to as I walked over to my dad. Once I was kneeling in front of him I asked âDad why are you angry?â
âBecause youâre too young to be having a babyâ
âI know, but I swear that Iâll take care of itâ
âAlex, you know whatâs going to happen to Tutankhamun next year, and the baby isnât in the history booksâ he whispered harshly and I flinched
âI know, but canât I just bring the baby to our time? And besides you know that Tutankhamun had a mysterious second wife, and who knows, she may have had his childâ he opened his mouth to protest, but closed it again. After a minute he sighed
âMy lord, please forgive me for my outburst earlierâ
âYou are forgivenâ Tutankhamun said. A couple hours later my family, Ankhesenamun Tutankhamun and I were eating dinner
âWhat will we be doing tomorrow?â my mom asked
âI was thinking that we could take a tour of Thebesâ Tutankhamun replied as he swallowed a piece of roasted duck
âI think thatâs a wonderful ideaâ she smiled. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The following day we traveled around Thebes, viewing some famous sites, and some not so famous sites.
6 months Ankhesenamun and I were talking about the baby in one of the gardens, âDo if the baby is a boy, what will you name him?â she asked
âI was thinking about Thutmoseâ
âAnd if itâs a girl?â
âThen I will name her Tiyeâ
âI think that those are both good, strong namesâ
âI agreeâ I smiled. Suddenly I felt a gut wrenching pain in my abdomen making me double over in pain
âWhatâs the matter?â Ankhesenamun asked
âI think the baby is comingâ I groaned. I felt her arm wrap around my waist and she helped me stand âDonât worry, we arenât that far from your birthing chambersâ but just as we reached the doorway of the gardens Tutankhamun arrived, and blocking our path
âWhatâs wrong?â he asked
âThe baby is coming, so moveâ Ankhesenamun growled as she tried to push past her brother-husband, but instead of moving out of the way, he picked me up just as another wave of pain coursed through my body making me curl up in his arms groaning.
âWeâll be faster if I carry her, you go and get the mid-wivesâ I heard him tell Ankhesenamun who nodded in return and ran off, âDonât worry my loveâ Tutankhamun whispered to me as we raced off to my birthing chambers.
Tutankhamun
Soon I was sitting outside of Alexandriaâs birthing chamber listening to her screaming and groaning as she tried to get the baby out. I also heard the mid-wives and Ankhesenamun helping her through the labor. When Alexandria let out a final cry, I heard a tiny wail, and then there was yelling and clashing as the mid-wives got the baby cleaned. I heard Ankhesenamun and the chief mid-wife help Alexandria with delivering the placenta. When I was finally allowed into the room a few minutes later Alexandria and Ankhesenamun were lying on the bed, in Alexandriaâs arms was a tiny, squirming bundle âItâs a beautiful baby boyâ Ankhesenamun smiled, I could see tears of joy in both of their eyes as I walked to the bed and Alexandria handed me the squirming bundle of blankets.
âWhat will we name him?â I asked as I gazed down at my newborn son
âWe were thinking about naming him Thutmoseâ Ankhesenamun replied. Before I could reply I heard a little wail come from the other side of the room, so I turned and saw another little bundle in the chief mid-wifeâs arms, so I walked over
âWhat is wrong?â I asked
âNothing my lordâ she lied
âIs that child in your arms mine?â the chief mid-wife hesitated
âYes my lordâ she replied after a minute
âWhy did you hesitate?â I asked
âWell, you see my lord; she has emerald eyes and blonde hairâ
âWhy would I care about such a thing? Now let me see the babyâ I demanded. I was finally handed the baby, and I walked over to Alexandria and Ankhesenamun.
âLet me see herâ they said simultaneously so I passed both of the tiny infants to their mother, who in turn gasped when she saw the girl
âShe looks a lot like youâ Ankhesenamun said as she peered over Alexandriaâs shoulder
âAgreed, but what will we name her?â I asked as I sat next to Alexandria
âI was thinking we could name her Tiyeâ I opened my mouth to protest âNow donât complain, I think itâs a nice nameâ I closed my mouth and smiled. Half an hour later Alexandriaâs parents and brothers came in
âTheyâre so beautiful, what are their names?â her father asked as he gazed down at his new grandchildren
âWe named the boy Thutmose, and the girl Tiyeâ Alexandria replied as she snuggled down
âCan we see them?â Ramses asked
âOkay, but you have to sit down firstâ their mother said and they obliged,
âTiye looks a lot like you Alexandriaâ Ron said happily.
A few weeks later Alexandria and the babies were finally let out of her bedchambers, and there was a celebration for them. But sadly Alexandriaâs family had to leave shortly after it was over. Late that night I walked Alexandria and the twins back to their chambers. âI had a lot of fun tonightâ Alexandria said after a minute of silence
âI did too, and I think they did tooâ I said as I motioned to the sleeping infants
âI would have to agree, and I think this is the most excitement that theyâve had since they day they were bornâ she said as we entered her bedchamber. Once Alexandria had finished getting herself and the twins ready for bed she glided over to the bed and laid down and fell fast asleep, and I silently followed her to the bed. A half an hour later before I fell asleep, I watched as she peacefully slept. I watched as her eyelids flickered and a smile tug at her lips, and I knew that she was having a good dream, so I kissed her eyelids and put my head down and fell asleep.
âI dreamt of Alexandria, Ankhesenamun and the twins that night. They were all playing happily by the Nile; the children were a few years older and were playing a game of chase. I felt a smile tug at my lips as I went to join my little family. Later in the dream we were having a picnic in the late afternoon sun talking about what we would do next, I felt happy and content. It was then that I noticed that Ankhesenamun was pregnant again.â
