Naina's POV
It's been a month now and things between me and Veer are pretty good. Great actually.
I successfully built the security system in office and at home which makes me the sole controller of it. Now no one can break it or hack it unless it's me.
But Veer...my love.
He's been their with me for this whole time, not leaving me apart for a single moment.
In the morning he makes breakfast for us and then drives us to office. Even here at the office he frequently checks me and asks my well being almost every half an hour.
First it annoyed me but then I realized he is doing these things to make me happy. He is making all the efforts to make us both work.
We do have soft argument over reveling the truth about our marriage, but every time he ends up convincing me not to.
Almost every night we make out. He carefully places me on top him, so that my back won't hurt.
In short, he's being a darling as he promised...but I didn't do anything to show my affection to him.
I don't even ask him what he wants, he just does everything that I wish for. Even he gets to know from my face before I express him.
I need to do something to show that I also love him.
His birthday is coming up...but what does he do every year?
I should probably ask Deepak about it.
Karanveer's POV
It's my b'day next week and I want to make it special for Naina.
Yes it's my b'day...but I want to take her out somewhere. But I've no idea how she likes it?
I should call Shreya, she knows her better.
I dialed her cell and she acknowledged it as usual dramatically.
"Hi Jijaji!! What made you remind me??"
Why did I even call her at the first place?
I should've called Daksheeja instead.
"Hi Shreya. I want to talk to you about Naina..."
"If you dare touch her I'll kill you with my bare hands jijaji! "
What is up with my name?
"No...I want to take her on a date, but don't know what she likes...so if you can tell me..."
"Date! How romantic! Well she doesn't like expensive things...so keep everything natural."
Well I should get use to not completing my sentences, because she will always cut them.
Naina likes things to be natural. Well she isn't demanding.
"Okay...can you please elaborate..."
"Oh yes, if you even give her a piece of chocolate, she'll be happy. Go and make her see the world, she loves roaming in the night, but uncle Pradeep always confined her."
My blood boiled when I heard that asshole's name. That monster.
"Shreya if you knew about your uncle, why didn't you never protected Naina?"
She went silent this time hearing sternness in my voice.
"My father shut me in my room when I heard her shouting in pain. I wanted to help her, but my parents always scolded me for even thinking like that."
She was sounding guilty. She should be.
"I'm sorry for her that I was so weak. But when she ran away, I felt good for her. And now she is with you, at least someone deserves a happy life in our family."
Even now I feel bad about my friend Deepak, they both can't be together now.
"Promise me you will keep her happy Karan and never leave her without hearing her."
"I do . Thanks sis."
I hung up and I genuinely feel that Shreya would've have been there when Naina wanted her the most. But still, she got an awesome sister, maybe I also got one now.
Naina's POV
I called Deepak and got to know that Karan doesn't do anything on his b'day.
Seriously?
He hated partying and all that gifts and stuffs.
Just like me...but what should I do?
Maybe I should surprise him at midnight...yeah that's good. I should definitely do that.
I made a way out of my thoughts when Karan came in my office with a cute smile on his face.
He looks dashing in that blue shirt and black pants.
He came towards me and pecked lightly on my lips.
"Get ready."
"Ready...are we going somewhere Veer?"
"Yeah emergency board meeting in half an hour."
Emergency?
"Is everything all right Veer?"
Creases formed on his forehead indicating that something is definitely not right.
"No...mom, dad, Deepak, Gagan uncle and Nakul are all called this time."
Now I am also in a slight panic.
"But why?"
"This type of meeting is done when someone from the board is caught misusing their shares or powers or embezzlement with the company."
God...who could do that? That's betraying your own hotel group.
"Do you have any idea who could do that?"
He thought for few moments and then spoke in realization.
"Naina remember you hacked Nakul's server back from my laptop?"
I nodded in assurance.
"Maybe the board found he was embezzling with the money."
What...and he is telling this now.
"Why didn't you tell me this before?"
He gave an irritated look.
"It could compromise your security and besides...we have the proof too, so it makes us more secure."
Yeah I didn't think of that.
Karanveer's POV
We all were seated in the board room with Naina and Deepak side beside me and Nakul was presenting this time.
That means he called this meeting...but why?
"Everyone...I want to tell something to you all. It's the question of loyalty to our hotel group."
Who the fuck is saying loyalty!
"I knew this before from the start but now I can tell you as I have proof this time."
He gave me an evil smirk and glared at Naina.
What is he up to.
"The truth about Karan and Naina's marriage."
He clicked the remote button reveling a picture on the big screen.
It was a picture of me and Naina, signing the contract papers near the pool of our palace. Me drenched in water and she in tears.
I was aghast seeing that and Naina tightly held my hand under the table. She gulped in fear. Even Deepak was shocked too as he is the only one from the board who knew this.
"So now the board demands answers of your doing Karanveer Sanghi."
I saw mom and dad amazed but they were not angry with me. Why are they not?
But Gagan uncle was smiling in pride.
But the biggest question is...what are we both going to do now?
