Chapter 29 The invitation Gideon I wasn’t ease at all when I watched the car leaving. Sam was our family’s most trusted guy. He guarded Sloane as well through her childhood. No one could touch her. He knew why Alice was here, but still I asked him to take care of her. Sam was so confused, but he understood me when I told him it’s not the time yet.

I went back to the house. Gemma was still there, I hoped that was the last day she wanted to spend here, as it was even harder to stand her behavior. And that wasn’t my only problem with her. I seriously worried that she would provoke Alice again, and I wouldn’t be able to hold myself back from defending her. That would ruin everything. I couldn’t let that happen.

I hast sat down on the sofa in the living room when I heard Gemma.

“Good morning.”

She stood at the door in a tank top, and in a thong only. I looked at her as she walked closer. She stood behind me and massaged my shoulders.

“Don’t t you want to take a shower?” She asked in a tone that always turned me on. But not this time.

“I showered already.”

She stopped moving. She walked in front of me and went to her knees. Her hands were on my tights, drifting to my lower abdomen.

I took a deep breath. I hardened instantly, but I didn’t want to have sex with her. My body wanted that, but my brain didn’t. I thought about refusing her wasn’t a good idea. She would have blamed Alice for that, and that just would have created another conflict between them. I couldn’t let that happen. I was thinking of yesterday, when I could trick my brain. Imagining Alice had sex with me was satisfying enough, so Gemma was at ease. I was just about to do that again when my phone vibrated. Opening my eyes, I pushed Gemma away from me, and I got my phone, ignoring her disappointed face. That was Seth. I picked it up.

“Hi Gid. How come you are not sleeping this time?”

“I had to get up early. What’s up?”

“Are you busy today?”

“Good, I want to invite you to join us today.”
