Chapter 77 Inability The boy nodded in lear âThey spoke another language.â
I patted his back, and I gave him a hundred dollars. He looked at that, and he watched the money, surprised.
âI think they were talian.â He added, then he put the money into his pocket and ran away.
âWhat he told you, dad?â Seth asked.
I looked at him.
âRiccardo.â I sighed. âProbably Riccardo got her.â
âWhat was that?â Gideon got closer. Seth lowered his head. I patted his back.
âCalm down, Gideon âWhat do you mean?â He asked, looking at me suddenly.
I sighed. I didnât want to tell him, but he had to know the truth and the weight of the situation.
âProbably, Riccardo got her.â
I could see his gaze darkened, and I knew instantly what his next step would be. Even if I couldnât take if one of my children would be harmed, I thought about Elaine. We had many hard times, and I would have been the same if she would have been in danger.
He walked to his car. We followed him. Seth took him out of the driverâs seat. They nearly fought, but finally we were on our way to Riccardoâs house. When we arrived, he got out of the car. Riccardoâs guys at the gate pointed their guns at him. He didnât care. He screamed his name while he shook the barriers, wanting him to come out and give Alice back to him.
Finally, we could see a familiar figure come out, and he lifted his hands up to stop everyone around from shouting.
âCarlo, where is he? Give her back to me now.â Gideon screamed as loud as he could. Carlo just looked at him seriously.
âShe is with Riccardo. Leave now and be happy for living you alive.â
âFuck that. I wonât leave without her.â Gideon shouted.
âShe is our family member. We love her, she belongs to us. Please get the incident investigated and give Alice back to us. We will pay for her, doesnât matter the amount,â Seth said, but Carlo shook his head âYou donât need to worry ry about her anymore. We are taking care of her from now on. Leave now.â
He turned around and walked away, which made Gideon mad again. He shouted while shaking the bench, and he held his gun, but we both held him back.
âMaybe they didnât harm her, Gideon. He said they are taking care of her.â
I literally needed to pull Gideon back into the car. I wanted Gideon to be near us so we could watch him, making sure he wouldnât do something stupid.
1 recalled what Carlo said a hundred times in my mind. It gave me the feeling they didnât want to kill her. Well, at least, I hoped that. I thought we could watch the market from now on. Maybe we could find her while they try to sell her, I thought.
A few days passed, and Gideon slightly looked better, but he still wanted to go for Alice. Elaine took care of him, like we traveled back in time, and that was even harder for me, too.
Gideon was Elaineâs favourite. She loved her children, but somehow she always paid a bit more attention to him. Therefore, I knew how hard it was for her too, and as a loving husband, I wished I could have made them smile again.
Chapter 77ablily +109 Bonu I shouted from my working room, as I heard knocking. Lily opened the door gently and walked in. She put a piece of paper on my table. I took it 09:40 read it.
âMr Sullivan, a man, Mr. Adams, would like to talk to you. He said itâs very important.
I looked at her, then I closed my eyes in disbelief. The man was someone who I knew years ago. Unfortunately, I didnât just know him, but we had a business together.
I was lacking experience back then. I was younger, and 1 just got our family to lead. When I finally got to know him, I could see clearer, but that was too late. I shouldnât have done any business with him.
To know that he wanted to talk to me made me feel terrible. I didnât know what he wanted, but I knew he wanted nothing good for sure.
âLet him come in, Lily.â
She nodded and left. In a few seconds, she opened the door, and she motioned him to come in. When he stepped in, he looked straight into my eyes, and he smiled at me with a smile that also made me feel I could kill him.
âAn old friend of mine. Spencer, you look good.â
âWhat do you want?â I asked him, clarifying that I wouldnât be in the game. His smile remained on his face, and he moved to the sofa to sit down.
âYou could be nicer to me, Spencer.â
âI donât have time right now, so tell me what do you want.â
âOh, I know you are busy. Your daughterâinâlaw disappeared, didnât it? Poor child, because she was a child, am I right?â he sighed like he was daydreaming of something satisfactory. âNew Desh, only eighteen. And her own step dad sold her.â
He laughed while shaking his head.
âWhat a jerk âWhat do you know about it?â I asked him, surprised. He stopped laughing.
âI think itâs better for her to be killed by Riccardo.â
I felt my body shiver, but I needed to remind myself he was a liar.
âAs far as I know, his step dad not only sold her for your son, but he also sold her to the Devilles. Their old leader saw her in the wedding pictures in the newspaper, and the pervert grandad pushed his son to get her for him. He said his current sex slave got old, as she turned twenty five, so he needed a new one. Yeah. But you know the Devilles very well, donât you?â
He looked at me with a devilish smile. I knew exactly what was on his mind.
âWhat do you want?â
He stood up, walked closer, and held the picture of my family in his hand, which I kept on my desk. He watched it, and it made me feel the wellâknown fear.
âYou still owe me a I nodded.
Cavour.â
âI think itâs time for me to use the opportunity to ask Mr. Spencer Sullivan to do a favour for me.â
