Chapter 23: Chapter 22 ~ First Date

Cameron’s P.O.V

I can’t believe I actually did it. I finally asked Jay out on a date and not just any date our first date together. I’m feeling over the moon right now but I have no idea what to do or where to take her, I kind of know what she likes but I don’t know what she would want to do as our first date. Maybe I should have dropped subtle hints before I asked her. It’s a bit too late now.

I continued to pace in my bedroom scratching my head trying to come up with some ideas that Jay would enjoy but all I could think of was going out for a meal, the carnival that was here for the week or perhaps going to a movie. I shook my head scolding myself; I need to be more original. Think; think of what Jay would like to do.

“Calm down there Romeo or you’re going wear away the floor.”

I jumped out of my skin and stumbled almost falling flat on my face. I steadied myself then turned around to see Penny giving me a warm smile.

“What’s eating at you?”

“I ask Jay out on a date an-” Penny squealed. “And I don’t know what I’m going to do!” I let out a defeated sigh and slumped down on the bed running my fingers through my hair in frustration. I felt the bed dip besides me.

“Don’t beat yourself up about it Cameron. I know that whatever you decide to do Jay will love it.”

“How do you know that?”

“Jay will love it because she will be with you, spending time with you, getting to know you better, that’s all she wants. You don’t need to do anything extravagant all you have to do is be there with Jay.”

“Getting to know each other better.” I repeated quietly thinking it over in my head.

“Exactly!”

“But I still don’t know what to do!”

“Do you want me to help you?” Penny asked.

“Yes! Yes please.” I begged.

“Let’s get going then!”

Penny linked her arm through mine and dragged me out of my room, down the stairs and into the garage where she grabbed her keys to her range rover. We climbed into the car and sped out of the garage. I was confused where could we be going? I thought we were just going to talk ideas with each other and go from there.

“Penny, where are we going?”

“We’re going to Jay’s special place.” She smiled to herself.

“Jay’s special place?” I questioned. Penny nodded. “Where is it?”

“You’ll find out soon and you’re going to love it.”

Penny and I sat in silence with the radio humming softly in the background as I watched the scenery race past the window. The trees surrounding us disappeared when I realised we were in town. Penny drove us straight through and we were once again surrounded by trees. I was growing more confused by the minute. Where could we be going?

I got my answer fifteen minutes later when we pulled up outside a small little café called Rock Pool Hideout.

“Is this Jay’s special place?” I asked. It was a fairly small building with windows for walls, the panels were painted white and blue, sea life stickers lined the windows, the sign above the door was in block letter in a rocky grey colour and there was a large starfish next to the sign.

Penny shook her head. “Follow me.”

Penny lead me through a cluster of trees that surrounded the little Café, it was nothing like the forest that was back at the pack house, here everything was at a standstill, animals were in a constant hibernation and the trees did not sway. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of leaves crunching and sticks snapping from Penny and I’s footsteps.

As we continued to walk the smell of salt overwhelmed my senses, my eyes started to water and my nose was stinging. I’ve never been around a scent so strong before, apart from Jay’s intoxicating scent.

Penny stopped abruptly in front of me almost causing me to bump into her. I looked around trying to find the reason why she stopped. The trees had thinned out and spread out before us was white glowing sand and water so blue crashing against the shore.

“It’s beautiful.” I whispered caught in a trance.

“Jay likes to come here when she needs to think or to get away from reality for a little while.”

“I can understand why. It’s like you’re on the border of two completely different worlds, one minute you can be in the midst of trees and then you’re in paradise.” I said leaning against a tree taking in my surroundings. “It’s like the best of both worlds.”

“Do you know what you’re going to do now?” Penny asked smiling at me. I nodded; I knew exactly what I was going to do. It was time to get to work.

It was several hours later and it was finally time for our date. I was out all day setting up and getting everything together for tonight. I would say I was nervous but that would be an understatement, I was beyond nervous. I wanted tonight to be perfect for Jay.

After Penny and I talked about what I was going to do we walked back to the car and drove back to the pack house in silence. Once we got back we went our separate ways. I went in search for everything I needed and Penny ran off into the pack house no doubt to help Jay get ready, I just hope she doesn’t say anything to her. I want everything to be a surprise.

I was pacing once again in the hallway waiting for Jay to come down the stairs. I decided to dress up smart but casual I was wearing dark jeans that hung low on my hips, a black button shirt with a jacket and black shoes. I didn’t bother to do anything with my hair as I kept running my hand through it because of my nerves.

“Dude you need to calm down.” Josh shouted from the living room.

I walked into the living room and continued to pace. “I can’t. I’m so nervous. What if she doesn’t like it? What if she changes her mind and doesn’t want us? What if she rejects us?” I rambled.

“Cameron you can’t keep thinking about the ‘what if’s’. I know for a fact that Jay will love it and she won’t change her mind or reject you so get your head together!”  Josh slapped both of my cheeks but not too hard so they wouldn’t leave a mark. The Alpha in me was furious but I reasoned that Josh was only trying to help me out.

“Thanks man, I really needed that.” I smiled.

“No problem.” Josh slapped me on the back before he walked off into the kitchen.

I walked back into the hallway and continued to wait. From where I was standing I could hear Penny and Jay bickering to each other, I couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying but going by their voices you could definitely tell that they were in some kind of debate. I chuckle thinking about what they could be arguing about and seeing as this is Jay we’re talking about it’s probably about the clothes Penny is making her wear or her makeup. I couldn’t care less what Jay was wearing or if she wore makeup she looked beautiful in anything she wears.

I look up at the clock to see what the time is. I told Jay that we would be leaving at 7 o’clock and it is now 6:57pm. My nerves came back full force and I started to pace again.

A throat cleared making me jump out of my thoughts bringing me back to reality. I turned around to see Penny coming down the stairs with a smirk on her face.

“She’s on her way.”

I was in full out panic mode when Penny left me standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting for my gorgeous mate. All of my doubts suddenly returned making my breath come out in short pants.

“Get a grip of yourself.” I scolded myself. “Everything is going to be okay.”

I continued to chant to myself when I heard a creak coming from above me, my head snapped to where the sound was coming from and my mouth dropped. Standing at the top of the stairs was my mate and she looked absolutely stunning. Jay was wearing a white shirt top which was tucked into black studded shorts that showed off her long tanned legs, she was also wearing her black conversers and she had a jumper draped over her arm. Jay to my shock was wearing makeup but it was light, it really didn’t look like she was wearing any and her hair was flowing in waves down to her mid stomach. I was openly ogling her with my mouth agape as she descended down the stairs. I was still in the same position when she was standing in front of me, I couldn’t bring myself to do anything else as my thoughts were all jumbled up together and I was trying so hard to fight back my wolf.

“You’ll end up catching flies if you don’t close your mouth.” Her voice was heavenly and her breath on my skin made me shiver. I felt her fingers on my lower jaw; she pushed it up closing my mouth for me. I smiled sheepishly feeling my cheeks grow hot in embarrassment.

“You look absolutely beautiful.” My voice was husky.

“Thank you.” She blushed.

“Shall we go?” I asked holding out my hand for her. Jay nodded whilst taking my large hand in her small one, her hand felt so right in my own. The sparks were running up and down my arm keeping my wolf in a domestic state, in the back of my mind I could hear my wolf purring, he was happy and content.

I lead Jay out of the house and over to my black BMW M3 sport otherwise known as my baby. My parents bought me this car when my dad handed the Alpha title down to me even though I didn’t have my mate by my side. My parents wanted to retire and go travelling plus the work load was getting too much for my dad.

I opened the passenger door for Jay but I stopped her when she was about to get in, she looked at me confused. I pulled out a black piece of cloth.

“What’s that for?” Jay questioned wearily.

“I don’t want to ruin the surprise so I’m going to have to blind fold you.”

“Do you have to?”

“Will you keep your eyes closed?” I raised my eyebrow. She shook her head. “Well then turn around so I can put this on you.” Jay turned around so I could place it over her eyes and tie it.

“It’s really dark.” Jay said.

“Good, now you won’t be able to see where we’re going.” I beamed although she couldn’t see.

Jay sighed. “Can you help me get into the car please?”

I gently took her elbow a hold of her elbow and guided her into the car. Once she was safely in her seat I buckled her in making sure to make all of my movements slow, she shivered under my touch. I smirked although she couldn’t see it if she had I would’ve probably gotten a slap and a death glare.

I shut the passenger side door and jogged over to the driver’s side buckling myself in and started the engine, it roared to life and I could feel the power in this baby beneath my feet.

“Are you ready for this?” I asked. “Once you agree there is no going back.”

“I wouldn’t want to go back anyway.” Jay smiled happily. She rested her hand on my thigh and leaned back into her seat as I drove off. I couldn’t think straight as her thumb lazily drew small circles on my thigh; it was both relaxing and distracting. My wolf was purring with the contact but it also made my friend down below wake up.

I continued to drive all too aware that my friend was now standing at attention. The radio was playing softly in the back ground whilst we sat in a comfortable silence. Every once in a while I would hear Jay softly sing alone to a song that was playing but other than that silence clouded around us.

I spotted the little café that Penny and I had visited earlier on in the day and my nerves spiked. What if Jay didn’t like what I planned? What if she just left me there? I couldn’t live with myself if Jay just left me; I would die without her like I have over the years when I thought she was dead. Those years were the toughest years of my life and because I was suffering the pack started to suffer. I was not fight at the time for my Alpha duties so my Beat Adam took over while I got myself back together, it took me a while but slowly I got myself back together and put all of my energy into the pack but even then it was too late. The rouges that were attacking long before I recovered had tripled in numbers and attacked us whilst we were still weak. I will never forgive myself for what I put my pack through and for the rest of my days as Alpha I am going to make it up to them. The first thing on my list is to give them a Luna.

I parked up next to the café killing the engine before I jumped out and ran over to Jay’s side. I opened her door like a gentleman and took her elbow again guiding her out of the car.

“Where are we?” She asked wobbling slightly as she tried to gain her balance.

“It’s a surprise so stop asking.”  I smiled the whisked her into my arms carrying her bridle style.

“What are you doing? Put me down!” She demanded struggling in my arms.

I shook my head. “I can’t do that otherwise we’ll take forever walking.”

Jay stopped struggling and leaned into my embrace, she put her arms around my neck sighing taking in my scent. My hand that was resting on her upper thigh started drawing circles causing her to shiver and moan softly.

The whole walk was agonising for me after she moaned like that, I was trying so hard to hold my wolf back but he was being persistent and he kept chanting for me to claim my mate there and now.

“We can’t do it now. She would never forgive us plus we need to make it special when we do eventually mate!” I argued with my wolf. He huffed out a ‘fine’ and retreated to the back of my mind but not so far that he couldn’t see or hear what was going on.

I removed my arm that was supporting Jay’s knees and placed her gently down on the ground, her arms were still wrapped around my neck and her breath was fanning over my chest.

“We’re here already?” I nodded against her shoulder. “Can you take this blindfold off me now?”

My hands skimmed across her back lightly and untied the blindfold letting it fall down to the ground. Jay was still facing me so she couldn’t see what lay behind her.

“Are you ready?” I asked hesitantly. Jay nodded her head enthusiastically and spun around with a gasp.

~Jay’s P.O.V ~

I gasped at the beautiful scene before me. Cameron had brought me to my favourite place to think where you can be in both the forest and at the beach but with a difference, tiny little lights sparkled in the trees, colourful lanterns hang off of branches and scattered around the floor and on the floor lay a large blanket with a picnic basket and two tall wine glasses.

“It’s so beautiful.” I managed to choke out after my initial shock. No one has ever done anything like this for me and I couldn’t help but let out a couple tears of joy. I quickly wiped them away and leaped at Cameron connecting our lips in a passionate kiss, I put everything I had and all of my emotions into the kiss. My hands were in his hair messing it up and my body was flush up against his rubbing slightly. Cameron groaned before he pulled away leaving a small space between our lips, I whimpered at the loss of his warm soft lips.

“If we continued I wouldn’t be able to control or be responsible for my actions and as much as I want this I want it to be special. You deserve better than to be taken in the woods, you deserve to be shown so much love and pleasure in the comfort of our bedroom.” Cameron whispered looking deep into my eyes.

I felt my heart swell with more love for the guy wrapped in my arms. I could see the inner battle between him and his wolf but he still managed to put me first, I pecked his cheek and took his hand in my own leading him over to the picnic.

“What did you prepare for us then?” I asked beaming at him.

“Well let’s see.” He rummaged around in the basket. “First we have some chicken bites, mini porkpies, tortillas and a selection of mixed vegetables. For dessert we have chocolate raspberry brownies as well as normal brownies and to make this date even more of a cliché chocolate dip and strawberries. And lastly for drink we have some homemade pink lemonade.” He poured some into our glasses then held up his glass. “Here’s to new beginnings.” I held up my glass and tapped it lightly against his before taking a sip.

I licked my lips. “This is actually pretty good!”

Cameron laughed as he handed a plate over to me and indicated that I should take whatever I wanted. I took a bit of everything just to be polite and to my surprise it all tasted amazing, I couldn’t stop moaning everything just tasted like heaven.

Over the course of our meal we chatted about everything and anything, we spoke about our family, friends, and our dreams and about each other. I was surprised to hear that Cameron wanted as many kids as he could get, ironically I just happened to be chewing on a delicious piece of chicken and I ended up choking because after all I was the only one that could give him children.

We moved onto dessert after we couldn’t eat any more of our first course. I immediately started on the strawberries dipping them in chocolate and then licking it off of the strawberry. I heard a groan come from next to me and I looked over at Cameron, he had a pained expression on his face.

“What’s wrong?” I asked with a smirk continuing to lick the strawberry. I knew exactly what was wrong with him. I wanted to see how far I could go before he snaps. Apparently it wasn’t long because he let out a growl and next I found myself on my back with Cameron on top of me and he was attacking my lips with his own. The kiss was heated, aggressive and yet heavenly all at the same time. I raked my hands through his hair and came to rest them at the back of his neck bringing him closer to me. Cameron was the first to pull away again but before I could whimper in protest his lips were trailing kisses down my neck, he came to a stop at the bottom of my neck where he paid that area more attention. I felt his teeth elongate and nip at my skin, he was hesitating.

“Cameron mark me already!” I moaned. He didn’t need to be told twice, his teeth sank into my flesh. It was painful at first but then the fireworks started and I was in bliss. He pulled away and licked at the wound closing it. I wrapped my legs around his waist and used my body weight to shift us over so I was now the one on top. I did exactly what Cameron did to me kissing down his neck, I sucked and nipped at his skin then I sank my teeth into his neck marking him as mine. He groaned beneath me as I licked at his wound that will tomorrow have a mark in its place. We were finally joined through mind, heart and soul.

“I love you.” I whispered before I fell into a peaceful sleep on my mates’ chest.
